It sounds like a fissure, a small cut in the anal passage, it can happen when your stools are too hard, which happens on CD.

However, although this is harmless, you do need to see your GP and get it checked out, for peace of mind if nothing else, also look into Psyllium Husks (RD where are you!!) as fibre 89 didnt work for me very well but these did x

It's unlikely to be anything serious ... the fact you had a bit of pain before seeing the blood means that it's probably a small anal fissure caused by a stool that was too hard / big.

You could try psyllium husks (either 1tsp added to your shakes or just in water :jelous:) to add extra bulk and keep things 'soft and moving'.

If you're at all worried about anything though, I'd advise you to go and have a chat with the nurse at your GPs surgery.
    PS
If you need more info on psyllium husks then feel free to ask - or PM me

Hi Bo Lady, I agree it sounds like a small cut. I had this when I was a little girl and seem to suffer with it every now and then especially when I used to binge (eating all the wrong foods) and had a problem when I started on CD but now take Psyllium husks twice daily which has sorted out the problem.

I hope you feel better soon, I'm sure you will. I got my husks from a local health store as they were cheaper than Holland and Barratt. You get a huge tub (300- 350g) they are very light in wieght. They cost me about £8.99, H&B had them for £11.99.

Good Luck xxxx little kiss for your botty too x :D

if its bright red blood then its more likely to be harmless. not fun tho :(
