August Starters **May contain food talk**

First of all: RANT: I typed out a looong reply yesterday on my brother's laptop and just as I was about to click submit, something happened and it all disappeared and logged me out of Minimins at the same time!! I was NOT impressed!!

Ok, rant over...lol... So I had my week 7 weigh in on Sunday, lost 2lbs which I was over the moon about coz I had expected to STS at best!! Had a bad week last week, had 3 social occasions (Eid, my daughters bday/visiting sis in law and rellies). On all 3 occasions there were people present who are either really judgemental or big mouths or mostly both! so I made a conscious decision to eat a little bit to stave off any questions... I did really well on Eid (like xmas) day, ate the tiniest bit of rice and a piece of chicken. Did ok on my daughter's bday party too coz I was rushing round organising things and seeing that everyone else was ok, so only ate one kebab and one sausage roll but then on Saturday when I visited my sis in law it all went to pot!! She is my hubby's sister, and her sis-in-laws were at her house (her hubby's sisters) and they are your traditional / jolly / round / force food down people / dont take no for an answer/ type of people - I stood no chance whatsoever! I had to have a samosa, a spring roll, a couple of potato slices covered in batter and deep fried, half a muffin and a cup of tea with milk. After that on saturday I thought I'll have gained at least 2lbs if not more.. so to then hear that I'd lost 2lbs - I was ecstatic!!

Anyway sorry have to cut my post short coz need to take my daughter to nursery, will try and post again later on today.

Don't stress about it too much Sweety - just learn from the situations. Maybe it would be better to try and avoid these kind of environments if you are pressurised to eat?
Well done on the weight loss in any case....but I would just like to say....if you talk about food again I will have to murder you! :D

Sorry you had such a tough week Sweety... but congratulations on losing. You've been damn lucky!! As Polly said, I could have done without the gory... mmmm.... dribble.... details...! Hehe.

Onwards and upwards. I only lost 2lbs last week and I was so so good! Grrr... hoping for more this week or I'm going to feel really crap. Lol.

Polly - got it, loud and clear. I will definitely be eating all four a day from now on... it wasn't conscious to not have them all before... but I've either been out or simply forgotten. Useless!

Hello girls...

just a quick post (taking a break from housework lol) I'm so sorry for describing the food - v.insensitive of me! But do you know waht, I didnt even enjoy it coz I just felt guilty even putting it in my mouth.

I am avoiding all other social occasions but these were completely unavoidable... one was my daughter's 4th bday party... I kinda had to be at that one LOL! Eid is basically our equivalent of Xmas so we went to my mum's for that day, not a prob, but my mum had to invite her brother and his family too (which was the problem!) As for visiting my sis in law, again coz we didn't see her on Eid, we had to visit her at the first available weekend to exchange pressies and just see them etc etc.

Anna... just quickly wanted to mention, there are a couple of girls in my group who don't have all their foodpacks and they don't ever seem to lose more than 2 occasionally 3lbs at WI. They don't beat themselves up about it, resigning themselves to be slow steady losers but I think having all your packs makes a difference!! I do struggle at times and it gets to 9 or 10pm and I suddenly realise I still have 2 packs to go and then have to cram them in lol... but deffo think its worth having all the packs...... at then end of the day we're paying £66 for them, no point wasting them eh!!

Yes Guy - you are doing RIDICULOUSLY well... and I am not jealous at all. Much. Hehe. And yes - you've hit the half way mark in just 6 weeks! I too had about 6 stone to go - and it's going to be the full 28 weeks for me I think. Hey ho!

LASTSTRAW: Yes, I think that is right about our bodies going into starvation mode - am making a concerted effort to cram them all in, lol! ;o) It it definitely true about losing more if you eat em all.. have asked a few different sources...

Anyway - I am dreading this weekend's weigh in... not 'down' about it as such, but I have a sneaky feeling I have put on this week. Sob. I dusted off the scales this week and weighed myself on Tues night and was 14.1 (naked, post wee etc, haha)... the this morning (naked, post wee etc) I was 14.2... and that's before the day has even started - and after two days of eating bits of protein. Boooooo... (for those that didn't see my other post.. I was told to eat bits by my LLC because I'm on pretty hardcore tablets that could make me feel poorly on foodpacks alone... justify, justify!)

Nevermind - my tooth has stopped hurting, although I still have 2 and a half days of antibiotics left... so that is something.

Onwards and upwards to next week.

I gotta be honest I do post more over there but I love this thread here. You lot are my Band of Brothers. Heh, maybe that should be Sisters lol.

I know mine is coming off fast but don't forget that I'm a bloke that weighed nearly 22 stone so it's bound to come off faster. you're all doing fantastic. I'm really proud of what we've achieved so far. :)

I am indeed nearly half way but that's my first goal (6 stone loss). I'd like to plow on and lose another 3 stone (to get under BMI 25) but I'm going to have a long hard think about that at crimbo. I don't wanna be a skinny bloke. I know the girls prefer a bit of meat on a man (at least that's what I'm telling myself lol).
 
You are absolutely right Guy! I'm not much for skinny blokes, much prefer to have someone big and protective....it's the girlie in me speaking. Of course, being a strong, independant and powerful woman, I don't really feel the need for a mans help or protection (at least I tell myself that!!) :p

You are doing really well and you will always be "one of us".

I don't mean a girl....obviously :D

Keep positive Sweety :D

Just bear in mind that it will come off...and even if you have a slow week you will catch up with it eventually.

That's my mode of thinking anyway!

WOOOHOOOO 6lbs off this week!! Total now 2 stone 5lbs!! In 8 weeks!! You might've guessed I'm slightly pleased lol!! :D

Grrrrr... I had my weigh in last night and lost another 2lbs. That is two weeks in a row - ARGHHHHHHHHH!!! - I could lose 2lbs by doing low GI or weight watchers or something. I BETTER HAVE A BETTER WEEK THIS WEEK OR I AM GOING TO GO CUCKOO!!! It doesn't help when I am getting cravings again... I know food isn't the answer, but having these pathetic losses week in week out is really starting to get me down. :(

Anna I'm sure you will have a great loss this week, I think we tend to follow a pattern in our losses, a couple of low weeks then a high one. I had really low losses the past two weeks (1lb and 2lbs) and I felt exactly the same as you, I don't want to pay £66 a week to lose 1 or 2lbs!! But then I lost 6lbs this week, it makes it all worth it.

Keep with it and it'll happen!! And do NOT eat!! It's not worth it! A lady in my sister's group ate and she *GAINED* 4LBS at WI... soo not worth it!! xxx
