Hi all

I had this idea of making onion gravy for my sausage and cauliflower mash...I thought about using a small tin of beef consomme (which is very low in carbs) :)on a small amount of fried onion ...Has anyone else tried this? Or perhaps used it for gravy on their roast? Does it work?

I have to say it worked really well, and I made a kind of mini sausage casserole, considering the Beef consomme is 3.4 gs of carbs a tin and the sausages are .2 gs per sausage (6 sausages), it was the onion that really upped the carbs, but half an onion at 7 gs means a total of 11.6 gs, and have split that over 3 meals...will make this gravy for the next roast I have too, but have less onion and add some garlic perhaps...
