Oh I think I remember reading something about this - I think you can do it as long as you don't snack between meals - am I right?

Sounds quite handy ...
You can snack, but snacks must be -

Free on both plans
Healthy Extras
or
Synned

You are also only allowed three red/green meals a day - so for example, red breakfast, red lunch, and green tea.

Or you could have - Neutral breakfast (Hexs/superfree), green lunch, red tea, and green supper.

It's easy as long as you're careful with your snacks and keep track of what meals you've had.

Thanks for your help.

I've had:

2 weetabix & milk for breakfast (HEXA & B)
Smoked salmon salad for lunch (Red)
Roast veg pasta (Green)

Snacks have been nectarine, mandarin

Other bits from HEX allowance - alpen light bar and a couple of laughing cow extra light triangles.

Syns - 1 ryvita crackerbread - 1 syn
WW cornetto icecream - 4 1/2 syns

Does this sound ok?

I've been doing SW since Feb last year, and have always been told by my consultants that you CANNOT mix red and green within a day - each day must be red OR green OR extra easy.

As we all know, sometimes consultants get it wrong, but in this case I think they are right.

As far as I can tell Mix to Match was an old plan that existed before Extra Easy was brought in. When EE came in Mix to Max was phased out. EE limits your Heathly Extras more than Green or Original, so I suppose it might have been perceived that people over ate on some of those higher calorie HE type foods when following Mix to Match which is why EE was bought in. I cant be entirely sure whats true - the only place I've heard about Mix to Match is on Minimins - and whilst we all know consultants get it wrong sometimes - so can mini-mins contributors (deep fried weatherspoons spuds anyone??? Sorry ;))

There's a lady in my group who still does mix 2 max. She likes having green and red in one day but also the 4 HEX. She's lost over 5 stone so my advice would alsway be to try it and see if it works for you x

When I last did SW and lost alot of weight in 2000, it was all mix2max for me and I lost just over 6 stone so if you follow the rules of m2m you can do it!

I am doing EE as I have a family now and it fits in better.

I used m2m as I couldnt seem to get any loses on green (I have pcos) and It was a way for me to do some green but not a silly amount and no lose. My loses were better on m2m than EE tbh but as I say EE fits in better for me now as I have 3 kids and want to only do the one meal.

If I remember correctly on M2M you have to take the higher syn value on anything thats synned.(whereas on EE you take the lower one)

It's a myth, FNM. I don't know who started it, or why, but no, Wetherspoons do NOT deep fry their jacket spuds. But a lot of people seem to believe they do. Including my Consultant.

They show up as so high in syns as it as assumed you wil be eating all the butter and salad dressing if you look on the weatherspons website for dietary restrictions and put in low fat it shows you the calories for jacket and beans plain and it is the same calories as if you made it yourself so would be syn free.

When I started (September 2009), my welcome pack had details of all 5 plans (yes, 5!!!). I've been told that SE and M2M were phased out so that it was less confusing!! M2M is still a viable and workable plan.

Ahh, now I wasn't told this... I was told to take the appropriate syn value for that meal (so red syn value if the meal was red, green syn value if the meal was green) and the higher syn value if I ate it between meals.

Maybe that explains why my losses weren't so great on mix 2 max...!!
