Well I am on my way to management. It has taken me 16 weeks to lose three stone but had two weeks eating conventional food after having an abdominal operation.
So my story so far is I have been overweight all my adult life I am now 50.I have four grown up sons and two grandsons.
My weight problems started in my first pregnancy and fluctualed throughout the other two.I never got back to having a healthy BMI. But im working hard at it now.
I have tried most diets over the years.WW,SW,atkins,F plan,Cabbage diet, food combining,Heart foundation diet.Rosmary Connely and more.Losing some weight initially then putting it all back on and more.
I have never really liked exercising but thats all changing now.
So day 1 went well.
I had my three shakes througout the day then had Tuna/Egg salad which i enjoyed.Chewing the celery was a pleasant experience. I struggled with my last shake and only managed half of it.
1 hr Pilates
5 min rower
15 min treadmill
Day 2.
Three shakes throuout the day.
Had my Asparagus soup as a starter 4th pack
Asian salmon with salad from the recipe book.It was really tasty but I struggled to eat it all and left some.
1hr pilates
5 min rower
5 min bike
15min treadmill
Day 3
Three shakes throuout the day
Asian salmon again with salad nice but still too much to finish
Vanilla Latte for supper. 4th pack
30 min Brisk walk at lunchtime.
No gym as I wasnt feeling too good in work today.Im getting myself stresses as I still havent finished the bridesmaid dresses and cravats so planning on getting more done this evening.
Hope everyone is getting on Ok

Hi Cathy
It's good to see you posting on here with the RTM, I found the volumes hard when I switched to lite for my holiday, obit took 2,weeks for me to get my head around it, even then could not finish the volumes with the packs.
You are doing the right thing not stressing, it's going to be for the rest of your life, so getting used to it will take time.
I also have tried most diets over the years, I'm 53, having some success but gaining again through boredom, lack of support and just being an emotional eater. You and the rest if us on LL now have the knowledge and understanding to aet us up to succeed.
Without this forum I would def not have stuck it, keep focussed, the wedding is so near and you have done so well.
I also have been exercising, which to be fair I have not ever stuck with before and I think that is because of thus forum and the encouragement we all get.
Keep posting you RTM stuff, it will help you and us!
Hope the rest of the dresses get finished soon so you can take a break before the big day, you deserve it.

Thanks Julz
I am now half way through my second week. The amount of protein allowed has increased in weight and more choices such as bacon, beef ham ect. Also the variety of vegetables has expanded but still no starchy veg. I am still finding the amount allowed more than I can eat as well as the three packs. Also this week low fat dairy products have been added.I had a plain loe fat yougurt on monday but woke up the next day with abdominal pain so not had any more.Might get some low fat cheese and do a dip with veg sticks.
Last night wewent for a meal.
The menu was very mixed with fancy food.I opted for the roast and braised beef with truffles and a tower of pomme puree(mashed ppotatoes that looked like and ice cream cone on the plate).presented on a bed of mashed swede.Very colourfull and decorative.I left the mash and the swede but the beef was really tasty.
I ordered a desert which was cherries and berries done is a couple of diffent presentations.(next week we can add berries so I was being a bit premature. The dessert arrived and again was very decorative and colourfull but contained a muffin like cake hmmm didnt see that on the description.I only ate a cheery and the small cube of cherry jelly.I did taste the muffin but decided it wasnt worth coming out of Ketosis so left it alone.
I did have a glass of wine and found it went straight to my head lol(cheap date). So I drank four glasses aof water througout the meal to lessen its effects.
I t was a really pleasant night out with my OH we chatted and planned and the food was not the centerpiece,so yes I can go out and socialise without food being a big thing.Best of all I was in control ,I chose wisely and didnt get carried away lol.
Tomorrow we are having a tea party to celebrate both of our birthdays with the family. My plan is to include some low fat /low carb dips and vegetable from the allowed list and a plate of meats and fish with salad so I can eat as well and everyone else can have the treats they enjoy.
The new RTM phase 1 ,I amfinding easy to follow as each week you can choose to move on or repeat the week again. If you choose to move on then you are given the information and allowed food list for the following week which makes it easy to follow.

That's great cathy, sounds like you have got your head around it, and made wise choices. I'm going to talk to LLC tomorrow and plan to start management next week, so will probably do the same as you and start a new diary to keep track.
I do think it's useful to be able to reflect back. It's great you have a supportive OH on this long journey.
Hope you have a good weekend
