CHRISTMAS....Are you being good or bad this year?

This is our first christmas on slimming world and weve said if were at parties or out anywhere, we'll eat and drink what we want but try to stay on plan for the days in between.

What are you planning on doing during the season of chocolate and alcohol (and very little in the way of exercise!)?

x x x x x :devilangel:

im being good as im actually spending this xmas at home woohoo

I`m hoping to be somewhere near target by then, so will hopefully be doing the same as you ... Enjoy it ... but eat sensibly 95% of the time :)

i have works 'dos' on monday, tuesday and wednesday, then its xmas eve, xmas day and oxing day *sigh*
Xmas eve to boxing day will be the easiest as i'll be assisting with the cooking and mum is on SW too. But the parties are all set meals. So will just be good the rest of the day and eat whatever at the parties :)

Decided to have three days off - xmas eve, xmas day & boxing day. Too many nice things in the house not too. Will enjoy it and then get right back on plan the day after.

Haha i like that idea! Booking days off for yourself like you do at work!!!!! x

Im going to be bad and eat what i like when i like and ill worry about it after. I will try and walk as much as i can tho to keep a little off :)

I haven't decided yet, I know I want to be good, but one whiff of the food and I'l probably change my mind. Plus I'm not in control of what is being prepared this year.

I think I'm just gonna go with the flow. We're going to my dad's on the Isle-of-Wight this year, so it's whatever he gets in. Think I may offer to help cook though, that way I can keep an eye on it. Taking our dog too, and I'm planning on a few beach walks so maybe balance out the eating with that. Don't tend to drink at home, but have a couple of nights out before then where I intend to.

baaaaaaaad!!!!!!!! i'll hopefully be at target within the next few weeks and i plan to enjoy christmas!
im going to eat what i want on the 25,26,27 and new years eve!! the rest of the time i'll be good as gold.

SW is for life, not for Christmas... this is going to be in my life for many Christmases to come, so while I'm not going to be a total party pooper, I do think I need to find a way to have fun without going mad.

I'm planning on being good-ish. Everything, but in moderation. If I really want something, I will have it. But I that is all.

I won't have anything:
Because it is there
Because it is family tradition
Because I am bored/anxious/angry or whatever
Because I want to fit in
Because it is expected of me
Because it's Christmas and that's what you do
Because I can

So on the day I will be 'off' SW for the day and have a good old main course dinner with lots of the trimmings, but done as healthily as possible. Not a huge portion, but not depriving myself either. Probably no pud. Probably a fair bit of wine. Maybe one or two choccies but that is all.

Christmas eve I will tread as a normal day but maybe save some syns for wine. Boxing Day I'm going to rein myself back a lot more than Xmas day but if I want something badly I will have it.

Works dos, I am skipping the sit-down and turning up for drinks after. I guess it 'helps' that I have allergies I can blame this on ;) I'm only going to have a few, for every alcoholic drink I'm going to have a couple of soft drinks. I'm going to be the annoying virtuous one who rolls her eyes indulgently when everyone else makes total idiots of themselves. Could be boring (in which case I'll sneak off back home) but has the potential to be even more fun than actually being one of the drunk ones!!!!

Socialising, everyone knows I'm doing SW and thankfully there are no saboteurs in my circle.

I will be doing what I do now when I have events, meals and parties to go to and flexi syn.

The SW flexi syn system is what makes this a lifestyle and not a diet for me and so I'll use it regularly over the Christmas season.

I probably already over use it but its worked for me so far. :)

Xmas always throws so much at you it's surely impossible to stay good all of the time! ;)

Firstly I'm making a xmas visit to see my Dad (also on the Isle of Wight Claireybella!) between 1st & 5th December. I will try and be as good as possible but he does like to spoil us so I can guarantee evening meals won't be great!

I've got 2 xmas do's on the trot for work - one on Thursday 9th in Manchester where it's a sit down meal, then on Friday 10th back home which is a buffet. I'll pick as good as I can from the menu and eat before going to the second one so I can avoid the buffet...

Thrown into this I have my SIL and MILs bdays both in December so probably more meals out. And I haven't even got to xmas week yet!!

Xmas day itself it's just me and hubby at home and I will be going for full-blown show-off cooking. Planning probably on having some sort of seafood starter, duck breasts for main and probably a cream/pastry/choc rich dessert. So yes I'll be taking xmas day off!! I will try to keep any naughties in the house to a minimum so all other meals I can stick to plan though.

Throughout all of this I will be trying to avoid as much booze as possible as me and hubby are hoping to be pregnant by xmas so hopefully it will be out of the question anyway. This would normally have been my biggest problem...

ive got an xmas work lunch on 11th then xmas work dinner on 17th. have chosen veg broth, turkey and ham and baileys cheesecake for lunch. Dinner will be smoked salmon to start, monkfish for main and profiteroles for dessert. Now usually im too full up to have the desserts and pass them onto one of the men so im hoping it'll be the same this year!

Then have my brother's birthday on 20th then xmas day, boxing day - big dinners and new years day we usually have about 20 to our house for dinner! Now i can help my mum with those dinners and make sure i make my own SW roasties etc.

I've put around 6lb on over the festive season for the last 3 years of SW and I intend NOT to do it this year.
My meals out have all been chosen sensibly and I'm not buying chocolates or nuts or dried fruit or nibbley bits for the house.
I'm making lots of lovely nibbles from the EE Christmas book for Xmas Eve. Xmas Day will be semi indulgent though :)
Other than that I am going to try to be as good as I can. I would dearly love to STS for that between Xmas and New Year WI on the 28th December.

Blimey it doesn't seem 5 minutes since we were having this conversation on here last year :D

We are going to prague on the 27th december for a few days so I definitely intend to enjoy that and experience all the lovely food from the market traders etc and the warm wine.

As for xmas day I will have a few special treats maybe some cream and a liquer coffee a few choccies etc, but as I dont drink too much that wont really bother me.

Last year I had 4 days off plan and only put on 1/2 lb and that was off the following week so for what its worth dont stress too much, have a little bit of what you fancy and the damage wont be too bad.

As someone has already said xmas is part of life and weight gain is probably inevitable for 95% of the population even the skinny folk :D

Enjoy xx

i have alot of christmas time traditions that i wont be stopping

on xmas eve me and the ex ( Rhiannas dad ) build her toys and get the living room ready with her toys etc and have a few budweisers and spring rolls lol ( me and my ex are on very good talking terms we get along the best ) although he has a little one now with her gf so this may change!

Xmas eve me and my daughter aways watch a dvd with and have wee party lol this consists of a pack of quavers divided on to 2 little plates a pot of jelly some haribo and a milky bar or buttons divided between us all cuddled up and watch a dvd .. THIS WILL NOT BE CHANGING

Xmas day my mum will be cooking and her dinner is sooo good but i will be making my own SW roasties all the rest will be fine and i wont worry bout the gravy or the butter in the mash. im not a big dessert person so il be fine there.

boxing day il be at the OH's parents house and it will be a big buffet of all types of food ... im going to bring some SW chilli so il have that!!

I dont think food will be my problem this xmas ... it will all be down to how much morgans spiced i consume lololol
