CoCoMo - Diary of a Dr D Disciple!

Those jokers do sound like a bad idea - I think you did the right thing to resist, Cocomo. As Jo says, they contradict all of what he says about the principles of the diet!

I definitely agree about trying some baking with oatbran. I have a sweet tooth and my little oatbran "treats" helped me though (especially during TOTM cravings).

It's a shame about not being able to get a suitable proper cheese substitute over here. Still, that's something to look forward to when you reach Conso - make it an added incentive to reach goal! ;-)

Thanks for your comments peeps - I don't want to come out of ketosis yet, I like the weight loss so no pasta jokers for me:D

I am currently making a big pan of paprika chicken! Chopped tomatoes, mushrooms, courgettes, red onion, red peppers, broccoli tips, chicken breast, garlic, chillis, paprika, ginger and cayenne. I quite like this cold too. If you fancy it creamy, a couple of spoons of fat free fromage frais will make a lovely addition. I normally eat it with rice or pasta, but sadly I can't do that this evening, but I am enjoying the mix of veg in my cooking.
I found Low Fat Halloumi today - I might make stuffed peppers with my salmon tomorrow, it's less than 5% so I know I need to only have a little bit, but the salty taste is so delicious.
After a horrid start this morning, I feel much better this evening. I do, however, have loads of work to do tonight and normally I would do that with a glass of wine or a beer. Sigh - Diet Pepsi just isn't quite the same!

Are you sure about the fat content of that cheese? Can't find such a low reading on internet!

Looks like a lovely dish BUT careful that you're going to eat LOTS of chicken there cos it looks like a heck of a lot of veg!

It was LOVELY!! I made enough for three or four days of PV and froze the rest - there were 6 chicken breasts in there :D
PP day today, salmon for tea. Omnomnom!:p

Yes, I was examining cheese packets yesterday in hope, but find that some of them give you the grams of fat in relation to other measures than 100. Eg my heArt leapt in hope at one, 4g it said, but out of 25g weight that's 16%. Similarly with several others, the lowest I could find was still 10% for some thing closer to plastic than cheese.

I just checked my halloumi - and have given it to my colleague
Stupid cheese!
I have not had enough water today - still in the office, so I am going to swig some now on my way home.

OMG - it is 21.38, I just got in from work, my crab sticks are beyond their use by date and I have no diet pepsi left!!!!! No treats for me tonight!

ARGH!!

Now is the temptation time - normally at this point, I would order some Chinese food (Singapore noodles and satay prawns) but I can't do that so I will have to be more creative with my meal.

Dammit. I knew I wasn't prepared tonight.

It's ok Emms, I forgot I had lambs liver in the back of the fridge, having an odd combo of liver and eggs for tea! Not everyone's idea of a gourmet meal, but how much protein!:D

How are you getting on today? Hump day tomorrow, everyone!:flirt2:

Mmmm I love liver! I'm too scared to cook it myself so wait until I visit my dad as he is an expert! My flatmate won't let me have it in the fridge as apparently it moves towards milk!!! - dunno how true this is! Lol.

How come you were working so late that's mad!! Hope u dont do it all the time! I left at half 6 tonight which I thought was late! Lol X

Liver is tasty if you fry fry it in the pan - lamb's liver best!
Just heat the pan, medium hot, couple of mins each side (depends how thick the slices are) and ready to eat when they are an even brown colour in the middle (I like mine as rare as I dare get away with, sometimes I eat it pink)
One of the nicest recipes is to gently sweat some leeks and red onions in the pan - don't fry them to brown, just let them go all floppy and translucent. Red onions are a but sweeter than ordinary brown ones. Add the liver to the pan, teaspoon of mild mustard, splash of Worcestershire sauce, maybe a spoonful of water if the liver isn't very juicy - then the juices from the liver and leeks and onions all mix up and go yummers!

That sounds really nice. My flatmate is back in Ireland for most of the summer so I may get some liver and hide it in the fridge mwahahah! I'll give that recipe a go! It's dead cheap aswell which is also a bonus. Dunno how I feel about eating it rare though, I love the texture of it well done. Mmm I'm gonna have to buy some now! X

Good for you! Nice to find another liver-lover:D
I don't normally work quite as late but to be honest, I am rarely getting back to my apartment before 9.00pm. I am 8 weeks into an interim assignment, and boy, are my employers getting their money's worth on my daily rate!

I have also started to realise exactly how much I am really missing alcohol. A lot. Enough to make me wonder if I should have thought about my consumption a long time ago. I usually have strong lagers like Peroni or Staropramen in the fridge, and my typical habit is to get in from work, crack open a bottle before I've even changed into my sweats and then start cooking. In thinking about this, I wondered if anyone else has realised how often they'd normally reach for the wine or beer once they can't drink.
Sadly, my work socialising also revolves around alcohol so I am becoming a bit insular at the moment, but I keep telling myself, I will be slimmer, fitter and healthier in a few months and that is worth the trade off.

Although right at this minute, I'd rather have a frosty San Miguel in my pudgy hand!:sigh:

I adore lamb's liver but presumed that, because lamb isn't ok for the diet, neither would its liver be?

Anyone?

As for alcohol, I have no problem whatsoever in drinking Diet Coke while others guzzle. I'm certainly more aware now of how much some others drink!! haaaa! I just had the same conversation with my sister, who drinks a lot and thinks I should "let myself go once in a while". My response to her, as ever, is that I'd sooner eat my calories (and that stands even when "off Dukan")!

I would have thought lambs liver would be okay because its only the meat aka the body that is fattening, I wouldn't think the organs would be. Dr. Dukan says you can eat heart and kidneys and I dont think he differentiates (is that how you spell it) between the type of animal. I could be wrong but I am not sure.

I have not lost an ounce all week. I have not faltered at all. A bit annoyed. But, I am hoping I'll show some losses next week.

Anyone else find the first week of Cruise really stagnates your losses?

It's a PV day for me today but I am tempted to stick to a few days of PP just to see if I can kick start my losses again. What do you all think?
Happy Friday peeps :)

Didn't you have a few cheese upsets in the week, and halloumi or something too? One wouldn't normally expect a stall so soon unless it's your TOTM, you're retaining water, eating too many tolerated items or too much dairy.

Are you posting menus? Couldn't find any...

If I've got the wrong person, which is very possible, please forgive me!

I'd stick to alternating days, but remember on PV days to have lots of PROTEIN!

Hi maintainer! You do have the right person! I didn't eat any of the halloumi, it went to my next door neightbour :(
Also, I don't have any TOTM issues - I have PCOS so I have an implant.
I have tried to keep my dairy to two fat free yoghurts per day - typically one vanilla Mullerlight and the other totally fat free natural yoghurt (usually with my oatbran in).
I am drinking circa 2 litres fresh water a day plus other liquids (one diet pepsi, two coffees with skimmed milk and occasional cup of tea), but I drink a lot of water anyway (work in air conditioned office and talk a lot so I am always thirsty).
Apart from one helping of liver in two weeks and two lean steaks, the only other proteins I have eaten are lean chicken (no skin, no fatty cuts, just breast, which I usually HATE!), extra lean ham slices as snacks, fresh salmon, fresh tuna, fresh cod, eggs, and prawns. On my PV days (of which I have only had three) i have only added red peppers, green salads, mushrooms, courgettes, tomatoes (in moderation) cucumber and onions. I had a glass of wine over a week ago, but I lost 1lb after that anyway!
I am STUCK at 14st 0lbs 6oz. And I have not budged a fraction since Sunday.
I am going to have some PP days only over the weekend, and see where I end up. I don't expect losses every day, but I expected to lose at least 1lb since Sunday :(
I'm not angry - I know there is sometimes no pattern to weight loss, and my tummy is flatter and my face looks thinner. It's just VERY annoying!

Absolutely, I do feel for you because it looks as if you're doing things correctly. I bet you'll have a fabulous surprise in a day or two. Don't overdo the PPs though, else you'll end up with "transit" issues too, which aren't fun to resolve! We need our veggies!

Take care, and fingers crossed for you!

Thank you, Maintainer :) I am looking forward to the weekend and catching up on my sleep! Hope everyone is having a happy Friday!
