DOING SW FROM HOME???

Ive yet to try that Hun was it nice?! Love trying new things now! X

Laura that looks really nice. I make mine similar to that and if I have HEXA cheese left mix it in the topping.

Thanks! Yeah, that is definitely a yummy addition - makes it feel even naughtier!

Looks lovely thanks Laura will give that a whirl soon!

Bought some WW sausages today so will have sausage casserole with mash one night this week and loads of other lovely food ideas n recipes to try now! :D

Tilly you know you mentioned scouse. Do you have pickled Red cabbage with it or just add the cabbage to the stew. I am going to try it as have a Red cabbage in the fridge that I am using gradually. I had Red cabbage and bacon tonight with orange peel in it. was lovely.

It was yummy! I found it took loads longer for the sauce to thicken than it said in the recipe but I think its because I put a lot more veggies in and it was things that release more liquid during cooking like mushrooms!
Well worth it though! Think i will try the diet coke bbq sauce at some point!

I had pickled cabbage but any cabbage would be fine! Or I put beetroot on top...mmm! X

I've tried the Diet Coke Chicken my friend made me it one night but there wasn't loads of sauce so if I made it I'd like a bit more sauce! The sticky 5-spice gammon was lovely from the free SW books you should try that! X

By the way meant to tell everyone my mum lost 2lbs this week so that's 9lbs in 2 weeks! She's made up and hope she keeps it up! Love having someone to help me and share the cooking haha! X

oooh sounds good :)

Charl how did you do your pulled pork I was a bit disappointed with mine it pulled apart beautifully but lacked something, I just bunged it in the slow cooker with diet coke bbq sauce and left it to cook then thickened up the left over sauce

Yay great news on your moms loss Tilly

I love 5 spice gammon but my recipe is not SW friendly, is yours basically diet coke and five spice and do you oven roast it, was thinking of making one up as I go along?

Love Man v Food dinners! We had a pulled pork roll with homemade gravy and coleslaw and I even had some crackling within my syns, sooooo good :)

No it didn't have the diet coke in it was made up of honey, soy sauce, orange zest and juice of orange, fesh chilli and the chinese 5-spice. Did u get the free SW mags with The Mirror? It's in one of them. I'm not at home so can't tell u the quantities and method etc but if you havent got the books I could post it another time for you x

I'm new to SW and just waiting for the starter pack I bought on ebay to arrive. In the meantime I would like to be doing vaguely the right thing. I usually take a salad to word so I guess it's righ to continue with that? But I also take crisps and eat chocolate etc as snacks - just wondering if anyone can give me any ideas about the kinds of things I can be snacking on instead? Are laughing cow triangles with ryvita a good thing? (any particular variety?), also picked up that muller light are good, any other easy fixes to get me off along the right track before I get to digest all of the facts? Thanks :)

Hi Pinkpigeon, i only started sw this week myself, i have been having the wholemeal ryvita with ham, light laughing cow cheese triangles, lettuce, tomato & cucumber and think they r gorgeous, also the mullerlights r lovely to have especially the chocolate orange, or the cherry & chocolate ones r amazing and even better there free xx

Oooh Thanks Tilly

sounds similar to mine but without the brown sugar... I have to admit I was surprised how low honey is syn wise when I used it last week... I did honey and mustard glaze and it was like 2 syns for the whole thing...

Right off to settle the little ones down then my weekly treat of crusty bun with cheese and onion once everyone is asleep..

I'm assuming it was free as it was in the SW book and it didn't state there was any syns...hope not anyway haha! X

I used a hairy bikers recipe for dry rub and marinated it for an hour in the fridge, umm I think it was 3tbsp smoked paprika, 1tbsp cumin, 1tbsp cayenne pepper, 1tsp thyme, 2tbsp salt, 1tbsp mustard powder, 1tbsp pepper, rub half on the meat leave it to marinade for 1-2 hours, rub the rest in and cook for 4 hours in the oven or 6 in slow cooker, that's for a 2kg piece of pork shoulder, once I'd pulled it all apart I put honey BBQ sauce on the meat, was yum! Xx
