DOING SW FROM HOME???

I used a hairy bikers recipe for dry rub and marinated it for an hour in the fridge, umm I think it was 3tbsp smoked paprika, 1tbsp cumin, 1tbsp cayenne pepper, 1tsp thyme, 2tbsp salt, 1tbsp mustard powder, 1tbsp pepper, rub half on the meat leave it to marinade for 1-2 hours, rub the rest in and cook for 4 hours in the oven or 6 in slow cooker, that's for a 2kg piece of pork shoulder, once I'd pulled it all apart I put honey BBQ sauce on the meat, was yum! Xx

Oh so can you cook dry in the slow cooker I always assumed you had to have some liquid on it, now I know why it seemed to be lacking some oomph Thanks hun

I'm assuming it was free as it was in the SW book and it didn't state there was any syns...hope not anyway haha! X

Honey is 1syn per tsp I think

Why doesnt the magazine show you how many subs are in each meal then? That's wrong isn't it! But maybe as it was only 1 syn per teaspoon if the recipe serves 4 then there won't be any syns in it then? Hope so! X

I did find that weird, too... I found that in the booklets, rather than give away the secret that is a lot of foods have syns and you have to work it out and only have certain amounts, they just showed the recipes along with certain foods that you could have 1 or 2 of (all had syn values of around 3 - 5) each day... Basically, look at everything you can have! Rather than you're limited to not much syns per day :p So I'm not surprised they didn't show the syn values in the meal :) Just work it out yourself :) x

Anyone know which stores are doing the Turkish Delight mullers, I need a Turkish delight fix... hubs looked in our Asda and said he couldn't see them there

Morning all! Still cold and snowy out, snowman is still there lol

Gonna do a beef and red wine casserole today, recipe in sw mag but I think I'll put it in the slow cooker. Need to get out of this hole I'm in, some proper sw meals might help :)

Hope you all have a lovely relaxing sunday x

Sent from my HTC Desire S using MiniMins

Hope you find yourself in a better place soon jen ((hugs))

Enjoy your beef casserole sounds yummy! I`ve got lamb shanks today, think I`ll do the same as you and put it in the slow cooker.

According to the forecast, it`s gonna be our turn for the major snow later today. I`m in Cambridgeshire. We`ve already had some but not as much as in the west.

Breakfast disaster! I woke up really wanting rice pudding with cinnamon and golden syrup but ..... the milk absorbed b4 the rice was cooked so I added more then found out I've no golden syrup. Started to eat it without syrup but the rice was still hard. Added more milk and put it in the microwave and it spilled out over the bowl so now the microwave needs cleaning. And after all that it really didn't taste that great anyway :-( Roll on Sunday dinner x

Morning lovelies,
Decided this morning I'm going to give ee a go for the next three days... I think (!) I have my head round the main thing.. one question for you EE peeps, can I check on the snack front? In between meals what can you have? I'm understanding Hex's / syns/ free foods - can I check these don't have to be super free?

The only thing I think I might do differently tomorrow is have my oatbran with some ff yog instead, as I've used my a & b today on oatbran and milk so I have no cheese allowance!! But, I do have some low fat cheese in that is 4syns per 28g so guess I could syn today if I want it later!

Just in the process of trying to plan some meals- oh off back to work for the week later so I do tend to eat v differently when he's not here... I'm hoping ee may work out well with the kids though, as I too often find I've made two different meals for us...
