Drinking

Oh and EXCUSE ME! I didn't realise lipotrim made no allowances for refeeds. Please disregard the post that was here wherein I was trying to help the OP.

Still, please DO read that entire Ketosis article, not just the snippet.

The blood sugar regulates within minutes when you have food.

what Ketosis article??

So if you had something to eat you would then be OK to drink alcohol?

glad i read that about the alcohol, was planning on a sneaky one at weekend, will stick to my black coffee, thanks x

my sister is hoping to start LT at the same time as me, she likes a drink or four so i think i'll have to print out that article and leave it in places she'll see it - lol.

Last week I was disappointed with me WI. I was down 2lbs, but had been down 4 or 5 every other week. I went back over the week in my head and had to admit that I hadn't drank as much water as I should. I was drinking peppermint tea for a few weeks and counting that as well as water. But then I ran out of that and drinking ordinary tea - which has caffeine and shouldn't be counted. But I didn't increase my water intake accordingly. This week, I ensured I drank 3 litres every day - bottle on my desk. I've jsut come from WI and down 4 again this week - was half hoping that I might have an extra lb or 2 from last week!
Starting refeed today and kind of nervous. Away at weekend and have looked forward to this since booking it months ago - way before LT. But nervous as well. Happy enough that I can manage to stick to refeed at home, I'll do 1,2,3 at home, day 4 we'll be at hotel, but very late, so going to try to have dinner at home before going, or maybe throwing into bowl and having en-route - hubby will probably not be impressed! Day 5 and 6 are at hotel, breakfast both mornings, which a bit worried about and an evening meal which very worried about. I know what allowance I have, but I always had a sweet tooth and not sure how I'm goign to react with dessert on offer. I've tossed and turned with idea of having glass of wine - reading posts here earlier are a bit worrying on that count - always knew first drink was going to knock me sideways!! Have wedding the following weekend and will definitely have a drink or two at that, but going to keep it to wedding only, not night before - and going to only have a few!!!
I've a feeling I'll be on here alot in next few days panicking about refeed!!!

This could very well be the toughest part of my journey! Being Irish I love socialising and the odd drink so giving that up will be an experience! :S

ollie, you could have a couple of drinks after to celebrate the new you!... that goes to everyone really. stick to the programme, drinking would kill it, its not good for you especially coz of the whole ketosis thing. i know its easy for me to say coz i dont drink... but hey i drink COKE like god knows what and i have had to lay off that for the past 6 weeks!! you can all do it and it will be worth it. i know it seems mean that you will be going out and everyone else will be drinking and it may not seem as fun coz you'll be drinking water...but think of the benefits afterwards.... you'll go out many times in your life.... but get LT out of the way first!!!

Last time I went on re feed and had my first drink after day 5 I was fine on the night but I did not feel to well the next day, so be careful not to over do it.

And while I'm here. A member on this forum, Kirsty posted this earlier this week. Worth reading for anyone thinking of drinking!

I went out on Friday night and after much deliberation thought id be ok to have a drink.....i ended up only having 3 single drinks then stuck to water, i felt unwell and came home.

Luckily my sister was staying the night and my OH was home from worl because i collapsed TWICE!!!

I ended up in the Royal Hospital, by OH was told that my body was shutting down due to the ketosis and alcohol being mixed.

It was terribly scarey for both myself and my OH....i kno we all say there are dangers when drinking on LT but i just wanted to warn others as it is truely terrifiying!

I had no control of my body i.e legs arems and neck/head and also had blurred vision to the point i couldnt see anything.

Please DO NOT drink when on LT.

I have finally recovered- i was still unwell saturday and had the shakes untill sunday morning and also the dizziness.

PLEASE DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL WHILST ON LT!!

Take Care :wave_cry:

Thank you so much for re-posting that Ollie, I hadn't seen it elsewhere. Scary stuff, and all the info i need to NOT drink more than water when i go out at the weekend.

Don't do it! I drank last year when i was just on a restart of lipotrim and i blacked out. Well in my mind a blacked out, pity my legs and mouth didn't give way too. I fought with all around me and have never ever done that in my life. I never remembered any of it. I thought i was dying for days.

wow! I'm only on day 3 and I am so glad I read this. I was thinking about drinking at a wedding i have at the strat of July. I guess I'll be on the water now

electric bridget - do stick to water. i like sparkling water and have it in a wine glass , sometimes soda water for a change but always in a wine glass. enjoy - there will be alcohol in the future as there will be food.

I can only re-iterate whats been written on this thread.

On Friday night I was persuaded to go to the pub with hubby. I had 2 small glasses of white wine mixed with 3 (250ml) bottles of sparkling mineral water. I was fine at first then 15 mins later I was very drunk. I cant remember going to bed. The following morning I had an awful hangover, something I rarely get even after a whole bottle or more. Worse still, the ketostix showed only a trace of ketones in my urine - Friday morning had been ++Ketones. I've also been struggling with water intake since Friday.

I am now very sure I will wait until my holiday in July for my next glass of vino!!
