Exante and donating blood

I'd like to start giving blood again. I've donated 57 points but gave up when I started meds to get pregnant. Well, now that my childbearing is over and my youngest is now at school I'd like to donate more.
Anyway, I was planning on doing ws for a number of days around th
e appointment. Has anyone any advice? Anyone a blood donor?

Youd probably be better contacting Exante and asking their advice. I know you definitely cant donate on TS but Im not sure WS is enough. Probably better getting a definitive answer from them to be safe

I donated my 25th pint couple of weeks ago ... I had my shake as normal for breakfast, then half a bar just as I walked in and half a bar straight after. I just took it easy and was fine xx

You might have been ok but all the VLCDs and the blood service are quite definite on it you absolutely should not donate if you're on a VLCD. Someone else might not be so lucky. There must be reasons why they say no

You should not be following any VLCD if you are giving blood.

You need to ensure that you change to the Simple Solution (restricted calorie diet), at least two weeks before giving blood.

The Simple Solution is made up of 3 meal replacements a day as well as an additional 600kcals of healthy balanced foods.
