Exercise, Getting back on track

Another cardio session on the Wii this morning and still eating sensibly, no urge for a pie either.

You're doing so well! :)

Another sweaty breathless cardio session on the Wii this morning. I'm still eating sensibly and resisted the temptation to buy some goodies in the supermarket last night.
I normally weigh in at least 2 weeks apart but curiousity got the better of me this morning. The Wii board said -4 lbs though the graph showed -3, I'm happy with that.

Great loss! And well done for being good while you were out shopping :)

There's been a temporary halt to proceedings due to injury, but normal service is ready to be resumed.

I've dragged myself though a cardio session. My motivation was on the slide but I got stuck in though I had to go carefully as I didn't wanna aggavate the injury I had last week. I got through it and feel good that I did, a binge eat might just have been avoided.

I've got my walk planned at lunch (limited to only 30 mins) then hopefully 20-30 mins on the cross trainer tonight (haven't been on since late Jan).

This morning has seen a long cardio/toning session on the Wii. I cut the rest between exercise times and really went for it. Punishment for giving in to a pie or two last night.

A multi gym session completed this morning. Lots of sets and reps. You can do more in a shorter time on the multi gym than the Wii. When I use it I plan it so I can jump from exercise to different exercise without moving. An example being todays workout, seated 15 rep thigh extensions followed by either 20 rep pec dec flyes or 20 rep chest presses, supersetting as it's known. The trick is in setting the weight stack so that it's not too light that it's easy or too heavy and you struggle but just right that you can do the sets and they do some good.

A Wii session this morning. A bit of a mix, alternating between cardio and body shaping exercises. A lot of swearing at the sensor battery warnings that kept popping up gave the vocal cords a good workout too.

I can still do squats, leg extensions etc. so it's not actually affecting the way I exercise. The problem is, every so often my knee will sort of buckle with a horrible crunching noise, it sounds worse than it feels as it hardly hurts, now scans and x-rays have revealed something is damaged beyond repair, Ive forgot wether the specialist said, cartilidge, tendons or ligaments 'cos I was a in a bit of shock, I'd gone in with the idea of being told keyhole surgery was the answer and it threw me a bit.
So do I carry on as normal or am I just going to make it worse, I'm tending to carry on or even step up leg exercises as less weight and stronger muscle will surely be beneficial.
I posted the above on 7th October last year and it's come back to haunt me. Thanks to my idiocy I am now the proud owner of a pair of crutches and one totally wrecked knee.

I am now going to take my idiocy to another level as I can still use my multi gym and with a bit of adapting to the technique still do the wii workouts, so I am going to carry on.

Oh noooooo! I know exactly what you're talking about (or were talking about), I had the same experience when I was young of my knee giving out, and at the time I described it as my knee 'clicking'. Turned out the 'click' was the bones in my leg rubbing against each other through a hole in my cartilage, which ended up being totally removed by keyhole surgery.

Yes, do carry on with exercise, but obviously just take it very easy on your legs and knees. Nothing too strenuous, maybe focus on upper body for a while to give your knee a break. How long until your knee is better?

How long until your knee is better?
It's not, I've damaged it beyond repair which I knew, but I've now finished it off by destroying the flexion. A lot of them exercises on easports are easier with the crutches though. I've been experimenting with techniques and it's full steam ahead again.

Well I've started again, see how it goes this time..

I did a Wii session last week and it was a struggle. I've done a multi gym session this morning and it was ok, easier than the wii.
The problem is, I've totally destroyed the flexion in my right knee so it's not going to be easy but I'll give it a go.

A Wii session this morning and it went well with a bit of adapting.

Well I decided to see if I could use my Gravity strider/Air walker with my Wii on easports2 and it was a success, so much of a one that I ended up exercising for 3 hours and was utterly knackered but felt good. Things are on the up.

A 2 and half hour session today, a combination of loads of high rep lowish weight sets on the multi gym then an airwalker session.

Rocking and Rolling, another 3 hours of wii/airwalking exercising today.
