From Maximus to Minimus - coming soon!

Black Forest Gateau?

The next thing you will be saying is that you have a passion for black tower or blue nun wine, and a prawn cocktail!:8855:

Ooops!

Forgot the Mateus Rose wine that you could make a lamp out of!;)
But's all very chic again to be eating retro food!

Do you remember Berni Inns or Schooner Inns?

My parents-in-law used to take me and fiancé (as he was then) out occasionally and the standard menu was prawn cocktail, a big juicy steak followed by black forest gateaux!

The height of sophistication in the early 70's.

You being a mere babe Stevie would not remember this - or be able to relate to sophistication!

Can I just clarify?

Do you mean the tackle that he laughs with?
Or the tackle that we laugh at?

Cos I could do without the mental image of how the crudites would be employed.
:8855::8855::8855:My eyes are watering with a) laughter and b) the thought of those carrots!!! Ouch!

A Schooner in near where I grew up was the height of fine dining when I was a teenager :D x

Actually I think in the Schwarzwald they buy their Kirschtorte from Asda.
If it's Germany, then it'll be Aldi;)
The height of chic in the 70's, along with the empty Mateus Rose bottle with a candle in it as a centrepiece ;)

Think I saw a program about it once on the HISTORY CHANNEL:p

Don't talk to me about sophistication - I've been to Leeds!!

Honestly this thread is like switching on a Carry On movie! - there's that much smut and entendre, I'm expecting Sid James to post any minute:eek:

Babs - nice to see you here. But where did you leave your asp this time? As our old friend Ken would say:-

"Infamy, Infamy, they all have it in for me!"

AHEM!!!

I hope you're not saying nuttin bad bowt Leeds???

Ahhh cultured Leeds;) wouldn't dream of it.

*** ahem ***
Did I give you permission to take my name in vain?

'ello Sid, me ole mucka!

I can't believe you registered for that!....and I thoigh i had too much time on my hands.

Went for physio today and they found a problem, or potential problem. Physio consulted with specialist and I have to go back in tomorrow - to the trauma unit, might have to have a plaster put on:( Don't know why - hopefully it is just precautionary.

I certainly hadn't planned on being plastered at Christmas:eek:

And there was me thinking what a coincidence that Sid and Babs had spotted that stuff on your thread !!! How gullible am I ! (actually, don't answer that, I am often the definition of gullible :))

Hope tomorrow goes ok.

Actually there is no definition of gullible.
It's not in the dictionary.
Oh yes it is is..... Damn!

Got me again Sassy;) - 3rd time with that one.

Not as good as the cleanliness is next to Godliness though;) lol

Feeling a bit brighter today. Specialist referred to the large dent in the back of my right calf as to where the torn muscle should be:eek: When I queried how/why this had just been noticed now, it was because it was not obvious whilst the leg was badly swollen previously.

He saw little point in operating as that would have meant a longer recovery period and also a protective plaster cast. I'm glad about that decision!

Preliminary tests have shown a severe lack of power in my right calf compared to left, though I was holding back a little because of the pain! Apparently this will slow my walking down and possibly make the steeper climbs more difficult. He's advised me not to walk ramblers style until after winter:cry:

As you all know I love a challenge, and I WILL ensure my right calf muscle is as strong as my left and I WILL conquer the UK's peaks. Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis & Snowdon - beware!

Yo Stevie babe!

Happy Christmas Eve!!!

So what's Santa going to be bringing you tomorrow then? Anything nice?

Suppose it depends on whether you've been a good boy or not! :)

Have a great time over Christmas hunni and rest that leg. We need you fighting fit for Feb!

Luv Dawniepops x
