I've joined slimming world. I've never been on a formal weight loss progamme before, but I did lose 30lb three years ago and mostly kept it off.

I'm 54 and menopausal/postmenopausal and hoping to lose about 30lb.

I'm one week into slimming world and I lost 2.5lb. I've started walking around four miles to and from work and exercising at night (running on a treadmill c25k and 30 day shred) as much as my l4/l5 disc herniation from 5 years ago will allow.

I'm mostly optimistic but some days it's difficult, mainly work stress days.

There is tons of advice on here, I love the SW food diaries and am always nicking ideas plus, if you have the time, there are loads of inspirational journeys on here that prove there is life after food (still not convinced, myself)
