    I thought I should say hello since I've been lurking here for a while getting inspired by the success stories!

    I've never been on a diet before, probably how I ended up being 193lbs! I should have paid attention to the weight, but I gained it gradually over a number of years, and in the process resigned myself to being 'big'. I've also been fighting depression for the last five years.

    I've been having counselling for a year now, and although we've never discussed my weight, my conversations with my counsellor have given me the strength I needed to say 'I can change things'.

    So... size ten here I come!

    Take small steps and your weight loss diet will seem more manageable. have you decided how you are going to diet yet?

    At the moment just calorie counting and exercise. My main problem is comfort eating, but I seem to be doing ok with that on the whole.

    And strangely enough I'm enjoying food more even though I'm not eating any of the things I like most. I guess I'm appreciating what I am eating because I've cut down.
