Went up on sat to triage for my app. Sat for 1.5 hours then a mw came in and said we r taking u to the ward. went to the ward was showin to a bed. i was left and a mw came in and said we will leave u to settle ur bp then check it. I asked her why i was there and she said ur being admitted with high bp. i said who told u that and she said triage. i told her triage didnt check my bp, i was in for urine and bloods. she said oh there fine platelets r 78. i once again asked how they new that, and was told triage told us. i said triage didnt check them. anyway they eventually checked. still have trace protein, and the platelets are now down to 17.

the doc came in a after speaking to my haematoligist said they were bringing me in on sunday to have my blood transfusions, and on mon then induced tue.

got home. what a mad rush packing my bag, arranging babysiters etc. we went up on sunday and it was a diffrent doc on. he said he had never dealt with anyone who had platelets as low as mine, and he was sending me home!?!? he did give me an internal 1st, even tho its in my notes i wasnt to be checked until id been given blood.

so got home and all nite and today ive been bleeding and had blood clots. so foned day bed just for reassurance as i new it was normal to bleed after an internal, but thot it would have stopped by now. daybed couldnt believe id been sent hom yday.the mw there who has been dealing with me for weeks, had said she came intoday and 1st thing she did was check what had happened with me, and in my notes it said i was given blood yday and was being induced 2moro. so away she went and foned my consultant and haematoligist and came back and im being admitted 2moro at 8am. 2 days of blood then induced on thur.... lets just hope they stick to it as im getting very nervous and am worried sick something is going to go wrong.

Oh dear it sounds like you have been given the run around quite a lot, hope your not to stressed, good luck for thursday, will keep fingers crossed that the hospital dont mess you around again, keep in touch :)

I really do feel as tho they have given me the run about. They have maade so many mistakes and have had me running up there every week etc. But hopefully 2moro will be the last time xx

Sounds like u have had a rough time with it! hope all goes well and good luck with the labour! x

Aww congratulations! Sorry you had a rough time but hope you're recovering and both you and your new daughter are doing well x

Congratulations Mrs DD, hope you are all ok and recovering well!

Hi everyone. Finally got home from hospital after 11 days!!

Had Jessica at 22.05 on the 8th Jan and she weighed 7lb 1. Labour was awful. They did 2 days of blood transfusions. Which didnt really do much. The only put the platelets up into the 50's. Then they started the prostin gel. Had 3 lots. And on the 8th they took me down to the labour room. Was started on the drip to get induced. Contractions started pretty quick, and OMG the pain!!! This pain was nothing like the previous 2 labours. They said apparently thats what being induced does makes it sorer etc. Wish they had mentioned that sooner. All this started about 8am. Got to 9pm and I just couldnt take it anymore and they were finding it very difficult to get the babies heartbeat. They couldnt do the foetal scalp monitoring cause of the platelets so i was taken for an emer c-section. But cause of the platelets i had to have it under a general anasthetic. Woke up around 23.30, and there was my gorgeous wee girl... Unfortunately cause it was a general daddy wasnt allowed in for the birth.

The pain over the following days was awful. But thankfully after the staples were removed a few days ago i feel heaps better. And my platelets are now back in the normal range!

Jessica unfortunately wasnt so good. Her platelets were very low. If id had a normal delivery she prob wouldnt have made it. She had a brain scan and and they found no bleeds :) But unfortunately she had to go to the special care baby unit for 3 days and have blood transfusions. This only put her platelets up to 62. But they are hoping now her body will take over and fight the bad antibodies in her system. SHe has an outpatient app at the special care unit on tues to have her bloods checked again, and fingers x they will have gone up again. But they say it could b3 6 months b4 they are normal. But as long as they havent gone down thats all that matters.

So we are home and shes a really good baby. Waking every 3 hours for a feed. Hoping to get her to start going 4 hours soon. Last nite she did go 5 hours between a feed which was good.

Sorry its so long but i did try n cut most of it right down.

And on a happier note. Weighed myself and ive lost all the baby weight already and am now just over half a stone lighter than i was when i fell pregnant which is FAB!!! Thats what 11 days of hospital food does for u.......

Hiya Mrs DD, many congratulations on your daughter Jessica. :D Sorry to hear you had such a horrendous time but thank goodness you're on the mend and hoping Jessica will thrive with flying colours. :D
