Hi all, started cambridge diet yesterday, not going too bad so far, very fine line trying to swallow veg soup!! would love to hear any tips on sticking to it, fav flavours, how to get the little flashy things on my post!! any help or support would be greatly recieved, never done cd before, did loose 75lbs with ww a few years back. thanks Lisa x

Hi Lisa!
There are some great threads on here about which shakes are nice hot, mixing flavours etc. They are def worth a read.
To add sparklies etc on your posts, click on sparkly or ticker and it will take you to a website where you create one. You then copy & paste the 'code' into the signature part of your profile (under 'user cp'). Sorry if this is gibberish! There are instructions in the technical support threads.
I lost approx 50lbs on ww about 4 yrs ago, but Im here again shifting it with CD this time! Hopefully this time is for good.

Hello Edna, welcome. You will find all the support and advice you need on this forum. I like most of the CD products, shakes, soups, not the porridge but it's trial and error finding what you like. The bars and mousse are nice too but you are not allowed these until week 3, so ketosis is well established. I won't lie - it is a hard journey but sheer determination will get you through.

The more posts you make, the more you can do with your signature so just keep replying to everyone lol. Good luck

I have just bumped a thread for you - which shakes are nice hot. It should be round the top of the list now.

Hey Edna..
Just wanted to say welcome and wish you luck on your cd journey..
Its a fantastic diet and you see the results quickly, which is great..
Drink lots of water keep yourself busy especially over the first few days as they can be a little tough.. take lots of hot bubble baths.. as you may feel a little cold at first..
I love all the chocolate shakes they are my favourite and tend to have them cold with crushed ice......
Good luck this forum is fab and the support has helped me get through 16 weeks and have lost 4 stones in that time..
xx

Hi Edna,
welcome I would say with the flavours its trial and error - just give them all a go and then you'll know what you like and dont. I have to admit I struggle to get the soups down so have avoided them for this week, however I love the porridge I like to added extra cinnamon to mine and sometimes some nutmeg. When I had my first appointment I literally bought 2 of everything and I can honestly say some of the ones I weren't looking forward to have turned out to be my favourite. I have also found that I may like one thing one day and hate it the next. My tip for sticking at this diet is whenever you feel tempted come on here and keep your fingers busy other than that get out and do something, or my favourite thing to do is to moisturise. I've never been a big moisturiser before but now it all I do and it makes me feel great inside and out. I bought some firming lotion as I dont want saggy skin and if I am hungry I go and do that I have got through a 400ml bottle in just over a week but my skin feels fantastic and I can feel the difference. Another tip is to get writing I am keeping a journal at the minute and add to it all the time - that keeps me busy! Good luck and remember the first few days are the hardest honestly once you get through them it becomes so much easier and when you have your first weigh in and see a good loss you'll be well on your way. If you ever wanna chat just shout I'm still knew to this too (the forum and the diet).

Hey x

Im hoping to start this week aswell.. spoke about it on here a few times but never actually started the CD for one reason or another x

Good Luck x

hi incognito,
have you arranged your first appointment?

I am going to call my nearest CDC tomoz..

They are about 40/45 min away bt should be worth it and I can hopefully start ASAP x

it will definately be worth it, my cdc is really friendly and nice and I look forward to meeting her once a week but I'm lucky she is only 10mins away. You are right it is definately worth it and you will only need to see the cdc once a week for the first few weeks and then you can arrange fortnightly etc visits. Do you have any major concerns about starting?

Only about being tired as im a student nurse and I work as a support worker too so sometimes 60 hour weeks for me as well as having a 4 yr old!

I feel more ready than I ever have tho.. Im fed up hiding away, not going out etc and having no confidence when I used to be so different! x

I felt like that too - just not me anymore! I dont know if you have ready any of my other posts (normally on the 100% bit) but I actually have more energy than I know how to deal with. I have a 3year old and I have say she make thing difficult for me - trying to force things down me but thats just part of the parcel. It isnt easy but once the first 3 days are over then it gets easier and easier. Just make sure you drink lots and lots I tend to drink about 4litres a day and I can honestly say I have felt better now than I have done for a long time. I would also try to start so you know that day 2 and day 3 are on quiter days for you as you will probably feel bit rough then. I have never been a morning person in my life but now I am up bright and early every morning and ready to get on with stuff before it would take me until 11 before I had properly woken up. I haven't been sleeping too well hence why most of posts are around this time but that doesnt seem to affect my energy the next day. Good luck to you the results with this diet is fab I lost 11lbs in my first week and I am doing quite a bit of exercise this week.

I've got 6.5stone to lose well and my aim is to have most of it shifted as I am bridesmaid to my sis at end of July. Dont put it off any more phone your cdc tomorrow as long as your ready - I used to sit and read these pages for hours for weeks and just wish I had started then I could of lost so much x
