NEW Kays Salad Challenge - APRIL to SEPT

Hey JC :D, you've done brill on DAY 1 hun. Sorry my mistake I thought u had 2 salads, your right your 2nd meal was fine hun ;). Also if you have certain health problems its best to check with your doc first before you continue with the challenge. I am also receiving treatment from my doc so am off the challenge this week. My doc has also advised me not to do gym, so please take it easy and put your health first. Gentle walking is fine for the challenge, it doesn't have to be gym :).

Your fine to swop the days hun, that's ok by me, as long as your getting the same ratio of days overall. Also I'm sure you've read in the guidelines but just as a reminder, group results cannot be discussed on this challenge/thread, only your Monday morning results ;). Good luck anyway I hope you do super ! :)

Both my gp and my specialist want me to exercise and do as much as I am physically able to which some days isn't much.

My specialist wants me to get my bmi below 25 if possible which means another 4lbs or so off and is really happy with me following SW so I know I will be ok I mean how can more fruit veg and salad be bad for you ?
 
My plan for today was

3. DAY OF CHALLENGE: Week 1 Day 2
4. PLAN: Red Day
5. WATER INTAKE: 1.5 litres
6. CARBS TODAY: none bar fruit and syns
7. BODY MAGIC/ EXERCISE: 25 mins cross trainer - I ran out of time before I had to go to class
8. TOTAL SYNS/TREAT CALS: 10
9. SALAD: roll mop herring 3 syns as I had the whole tub, salad, tomatoes and gherkins

Had a hungry day today, so had jacket spud for lunch and then my salad for evening meal.

Kay, I am on a day off from the challenge tomorrow, will be away all day at hospital check-up

6. CARBS TODAY: jacket potato
7. BODY MAGIC: short stroll... not 30 mins but all I can manage with MS this week
8. TOTAL SYNS/TREAT CALS: 7.5
9. SALAD: quorn hot dogs (1 syn) chopped up with rocket, peppers, apple, olives (1 syn). 2 laughing cows from hex A

Just realised I did not check in yesterday.
Think all the extra hours at work and the issues me and dad are having with mum are taking their toll.
I did stick to my salad yesterday. But forgot my water . Only had 6 syns.
Will definitely post today's stuff later. Xx

By special request
1/2 syn brownies
6 eggs, separated
canderel 75g
cocoa powder 75g
vanilla essence.
whisk egg white to soft peaks.
mix egg yolks with sweetener, cocoa and some vanilla essence. Fold in egg whites. Line shallow oven tray with baking parchment. Pour in mix, bake for 20 mins at 180.
Cut into 24. You can "frost" with some quark mixed with cocoa powder and vanilla essence or chocolate Philli. 1/2 syn without frosting. 1 syn with frosting
very easy, very chocolaty and really hits the spot. Enjoy xxx

Sorry no pics. Having trouble loading the pictures again. Really craving carbs today for some reason. Thank goodness I'm on this challenge otherwise I would have eaten a carbalicious mountain of the stuff lol xxx

5. Water: 2.5l squash/water plus two green teas (and a coffee)
6. Carbs: Small portion of pasta
7. Body Magic: Two lots of half hour walking plus some gardening
8. Syns: 8.5
9. Salad:Morrisons chicken salad without dressing as I was out late and needed something easy.

Yay ! Well done L :D Your going over and above your targets ! :p Brill on the 2.5L and your under your syns ! Body magic is great too. I've never tried the morrisons salad bar, but my friend Bev says its really yummy. I've only had subways. Good luck for DAY 3, looking forward to your post later ;).

9. SALAD: feta cheese (HeA), tomato, cucumber and red onion

Wow 3 Litres of water ! :D Well done Maisie your doing brill hun. Your day 2 looks fab ! Hope you enjoyed your feta cheese salad. 45 min walk is brill ! And your under syns, your all doing amazinjg this week :p. Looking forward to your day 3 post later ;).

Well I'm glad to hear that everything is fine from your gp's side hun :) (the mods on here would want me to make sure of that ) and I was referring to the exercise part of the challenge and not healthy eating part ;).

Well done JC :). Your bang on syns today :p. Your herring salad looks super yummy. I've noticed your struggling with the water intake, have you tried adding nas squash to your water, if your finding plain water hard to drink ? it really helps me :). You can also use herbal teas towards your daily water intake. Well done on the body magic hun, great effort :D. Good luck with DAY 3, I know you will do super ! :p

Kay your dedication is amazing going through all the posts and replying individually. I am in awe.

I will be honest and say I don't eat or drink much on weigh in and basically don't eat and barely drink after 1pm until after weigh in which is naughty I know.

Today I have already had 2 litres as when I am in work I fill up one bottle with a litre of water and 1 bottle with nas then work through them and I have half a glass left of both.

I need to start doing that at home on my days off - I work part time and weekends


I really enjoyed my 4 ryvita at lunch for my hex b and I am looking forward to my boiled potatoes later

In my eyes your are doing fantastic for week 1 ! :D Let me tell you when I first started this last year myself (I used to run a mini version of this challenge then ) I used to struggle to drink 1 litre a day :p. I'm not saying you do, infact I hear you, its more the work scenario and your water bottle which makes sense, otherwise you can hit the 2 litre target I know. But what I'm saying is and the others will back me up on this, after a few weeks it all becomes 2nd nature, eating packs of fibre, not wanting so many carbs the exercise and the water, it all falls into place ;). What's even better is when people have come off the challenge, they have incorporated the healthy aspects of the challenge into their day to day life and have maintained their loss if not continued to loss more :D. I'm hoping the same happens for you hun. I am always here to support you, whatever you need. There is nothing that will make me more happier than to see those scales drop down on Monday for you :hug99:.

4. PLAN: Red
5. WATER INTAKE: 2.5 l NAS
6. CARBS TODAY: none
7. BODY MAGIC: none
8. TOTAL SYNS/TREAT CALS: 5
9. SALAD: chicken mixed with low fat Mayo and Schwarz Cajun Seasoning, mixed leaves, peppers, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers and gherkins (3syns)


Didnt win Woman of the Year, but am fine. What I was angry at was the SW scales say I've gained a pound this week! All I can think is "what the hell? How! " my scales showed a 2 1/2lb loss on Monday. On Tuesday I was showing a pound off. Their scales said 1 on!

UPDATE - for THURS 14/08/2014 - DAY 4 OF CHALLENGE :p

THE GET FIT CYCLE - DAY 4

Today is a GREEN/EE day. A small amount of carbs are allowed with one meal only. Your other meal must be carb free and a Salad Maincourse. Today you must exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes. 2 Litres of water to drink minimum. 10 syns allowed maximum.

THE TURBO CYCLE - DAY 4

Today is a RED day. Carbs are not allowed. You need to eat 2 Salads in the day. One should be a Side Salad and one a Maincourse Salad. Today you need to do 1 hour of exercise. 3 Litres of water to drink min and max. 7 syns maximum.

2.CYCLE : Get Fit
3. DAY OF CHALLENGE: Week 2, Day 3
4. PLAN: Red
5. WATER: Four green teas and just over 2l nas squash
6. CARBS TODAY: None (ooh I'm lying, I pinched a couple of slimming world chips off the tray when dishing up /slaps wrist)
7. BODY MAGIC: Just the usual walk, pushing buggy today
8. Syns: None!
9. SALAD:Felt a bit grotty at lunchtime, so not such a big salad as usual, just mixed lettuce leaves and tomatoes with a slice of ham and HEX A of grated cheese.

TOTM hit home with a bang today, four days late, so at least I know what's happening and hopefully the bloat will go soon now. Don't even fancy my usual three squares of Dairy Milk tonight.... very odd so just having another green tea and an early night soon. :(
