New to Cambridge Weight Plan

Hello, I hope you don't mind me joining this forum, it's nice to chat to others about it as my other half is getting fed up with me banging on about it and I have only told my mother (who is against it) and my other half!!
I've been doing CWP for 2 weeks now and lost 7lb, I didn't do very well last week as I was out for dinner and a truck load of cocktails so only lost 2lb!! I'm doing the 810 and I am craving normal food!! I really want to fight the bulge and not be too fat when I go away next month!!

welcome to the group it is a good group to winge to but also great for support. whats your goals etc. i started off with 3 and a half stone to loose iv lost 2stone 2lbs so far. started mid jan but last four weeks iv been awful and maintained my weight because iv been out so much iv been eating out etc but im back on my ss+ now for 4 weeks and then moving up the steps. hope to loose a stone in 4 weeks and then mine final halve reintroducing the food. my partner doing it with me so im lucky in that way

Hi All this is my CD diary starting from 5th April. Please help me keep going

April 5[SUP]th[/SUP] 2013 Day 1 – 158.2 lb/11st 4lb

Done this before and so was quite easy to fit in and did it religiously until the morning of April 13[SUP]th[/SUP] when I weighed 149.6 lb/10 st 9lb. 8.6lb loss! Over the moon. Come weekend as I watched my 9 year old son eat wotsits, all I could think of was food. Gorged on rice etc for lunch. Got my senses back and didn’t have anything that night not even the shake. Unfortunately it was my friend’s son’s birthday party the next day – 14[SUP]th[/SUP] April and so had both lunch, dinner and a piece of cake!!!

April 15[SUP]th[/SUP] morning Day 11 – 151.8 lb/10st 11lb

Mortified!! and goes to show how much difference it makes to eat these small quantities. Enrolled myself in a gym as I was feeling quite energetic and raring to go. I only took a one month membership. Stood my ground and didn’t let the girls there talk me into paying for a six month contract.

April 17[SUP]th[/SUP] Day 13 – back to 149.6 lb/10 st 9lb

But then I have been doing an hour of cardio – 45 mins on treadmill and 10 mins on cross trainer since 15[SUP]th[/SUP] not that it would have helped a great deal. What surprised me most was that I did not feel anywhere close to fainting at all in spite of being on Sole source.

What I had realised with CD is that clearly it is a quick fix. Works amazing for the short term. If you want the good long term effects weight loss should be double what you wish/aim for. i.e. if you want to lose 10 lb you need to do CD until you lose 20lb and between putting that 10 lb difference back on you need to change your life style considerably.

As you can see from my example it takes only a day to put that 2 lb back on. Also water is really the key to the success. If you do not drink at least the recommended two and half litres you simply are not going to lose as quickly as you would want. In one of the forums I read someone saying “the more you drink the more you shrink” I think it is absolutely true.

I know they say weekly weigh-ins but do it daily after the first three days. As you see the weight going down it gives you motivation to continue.

I'd be happy with 2 1/2 stone as I think I'd defo would be able to keep it off anything else is a bonus, so just another 2 stone to go, hopefully I can do that in about 8 weeks, maybe another few weeks on 810 then going up a step but that is if I can stop wanting carbs!! The first few weeks were absolutely fine all I had was a bit of a headache for the first 3 days but this week all I want is crumpets and toast!!
Another reason why I want to get this weight plan to the end as its getting to be expensive so hopefully I can go up some steps just to make it a bit cheaper,

Hi Stacy! I defo go through phases of wanting toast/ crumpets! It all depends on my mood/ the weather lol! Keep it up you are doing great! X

it is really hard. a few nice meals does throw you off track but the nice weather has made me realise i need to just complete this or il regret when i look all frumpy in the summer. im enjoying being back on it again. i know its only day3 but i feel like this time im back focused again. already have lost 2lbs according to my scales but il wait for my weigh in on sunday. i cant wait to see that 9sr mark come on the scales that will really push me then to just get to goal. im going to loose another stone which will make me 9.6 and then bump up the steps and loost the last 7lbs on them.
i have the cookbook for the meals and they do look so tasty. a stone in two weeks is so good cara well done. wish i could do that then il be on step 3 in no time lol

Very quiet on here recently! I've got weigh in tomorrow but don't feel like I've lost any weight. I did quite a bit of walking at the weekend as the weather was nice so not sure if this will affect my loss. Hopefully it doesn't

Wow ruey that is amazing!!! Especially as we've been doing it so long now!

I've had a rubbish week this week I'm on antibiotics and have just wanted comfort food! Even though I've stuck to it I've only lost 1lb! I have been weighed a day early so maybe it would have been 2lb tomorrow but still i'm a bit deflated!

I did look back at past measurements tho and I've lost 81/2 inches from my waist alone so that perked me up! I'm well into the 11s now so need to get back my motivation for the last stone 1/2.

Out for a meal next Saturday and I've decided to treat myself but will try to keep it healthy. It's good to have something to look forward to!

my first weigh in since being back on this prop is wednesday but keep weighing myself on my own scales and they just aint budging!!! depressed

hi all :) got weighed today and lost 5lbs!! i'm now into the 20's with my BMI. Pleased with that hopefully not long till i'm at my goal and can get my life back! finding it really hard with not socialising as i know if i do i'll just want to drink alcohol and i dont want to knock myself off track.

Got weighed in tonight and lost another 3Ib. 3st 3 in 11 weeks :) well done to everyone else and Scotty you're doing fantastic!

Hope you are all sticking to your respective plans. Its so so hard!! It's exactly twenty days today since I went on the diet and I lost 13 lb by this morning. This is the most I have lost in my life time. All thanks to CD. I am quite apprehensive about my husband's upcoming 40th for which I have arranged a surprise party (he may not be pleased!!) I have such lovely food on the menu I hope I am not going to gorge everything on it. I really need to look after the portions.

Hi cwpfan! Well done and best of luck! Lots of help and support here! We are all in the same boat! It's nice to chat to people who actually understand what we are going through!

On the whole I have found people are very positive and applaud what I'm doing however they just don't get the sticking to the plan thing and I'm sure they think I've gone so boring! But tough lol this is my choice and its working for me! There is plenty of time for fun when I've reached my goal!

Regarding the party go for it, eat what you fancy but yes keep portion small and try to drink lots of water to help flush it all out again! X

Was wondering if I could join this thread please?
I joined CWP yesterday. Started yesterday. I want to lose 2 stone & return back to my Pre pregnancy (& pre IVF drugs!) weight.
I'm 10 stone 4 & 3/4 with a BMI of 26.6.
So far so good! Finding the soups very powdery! Haven't tried the porridge & I love the shakes.
Currently getting headaches & sugar withdrawal!
Excited though as today I'm a day closer to the new me!

Yeah I've gone off the soups lately so having a break from them for a while. I have porridge everyday it's not amazing but it does seem to keep me fuller that the other products so gives me a good start to the day! I do like the shakes and bars!

What step are you starting on?

Best of luck for the first week! Drink plenty of water it defo keeps headaches at bay! And as soon as ur in ketosis you won't really feel hungry!

By the way I'm doing ss+ so a small protein/veg meal at tea time x

Hi Anna

I have been in the same boat as you in having IVF for my second baby a daughter. I can totally empathise with you. Put on loads of weight,infact I had two cycles before it was successful.

I could distinctly make the difference between my first pregnancy which was a natural conception when I hardly put on any weight.

Hope you are not doing this dieting too soon after the baby. If I can lose 13 lb you can too! Go for it!
