Newbie to the CD!

    hi... I am due to start the cambridge diet next week and have about 5 stone to lose. I have never done it before and wondered if anyone had any tips to overcome hunger! I am looking forward to starting it as I am desperate now to lose weight, so am also looking forward to using this site and getting to know everyone... I am really struggling to get rios of weight since having my third baby and motivation has been on the floor!! anyway, any help or advice would be great... xx

    I'm restarting tomorrow. My advice; drink lots of water and black coffee. Accept the first few days will be hell but it gets easy on day 4/5 onwards. Do not watch the food channels and do a bit walking. A nice bath with scented candles and an early night on days 1 and 2 help me. Good luck!

    PS Ignore your friends/colleagues - they will try to out you off. And if there is a 'feeder' in your workplace they will latch on to you and go out of their way to temp you with junk they brought in or gloat about how they can stuff their face and nit put on weight. Just be wary and ignore.

    thankyou!! I have started to drink more water, I guess I have just got to push thru the first few days!! stay focused and ignore macdonalds ! lol!

    only very new to this but these really helped in first couple of days
    1. remininding myself its not forever
    2. remining myself its my choice to do this
    more motivation than deprivation!
    3. baught a brita filter makes drinking water easier
    4. getting out of the house for a walk

    so basic i know - but it helped more than ever reading that it gets better!
    keep going!

    Hi, good luck!! I'm hoping you get on well, I'm finding it brilliant, im only on day 8 but I just love the quick results!! cant wait to get into the size 10s lol x

    I lost 9lbs :) I also have 5 stone to loose so hopefully will have 2 and half or 3 stone off for xmas :) xx

    congrats thats fab.... bet you feel really motivated! how do you cope with hunger?? especially with a family too? xx

    I can honestly say I'm not hungry, I still crave things (I passed a chip shop that was hard!!) but not actually hungry, which amazes me! when you are in ketosis your body doesn't need food any more! yeah my wee girl is 15 weeks on Friday :) she keeps me busy so I suppose I don't have much time to think about being hungry! lol with u having kiddies you'll know what I mean. have u started yet?? xx

    Lost 9 lb in first weigh in! So am expecting a smaller weight lids next week as seems to be the norm. But am pleased with myself for staying strong!!!

    Hi girls, any chance I can join? I'm starting on monday and having had my third baby nearly 10 months ago, I have decided enough is enough, and I need to shift the weight. I have 4 stone to lose xx

    hey everyone! congrats on your weight losses you must be dead pleased!! when I start I hope to be as successful :)..... hi danielle, I know how you feel, I have got to the same point as you.... let me know how you get on.... I am going to start in thr next few weeks, maternity pay its half killing me so now haver to wait until payday! nevamind! as long as I start thats the main thing! xxxxx

    Hi Jaymi :) yeah, got to say that it is very expensive!! We're having to make quite a few cutbacks, but I think that I can't put a price on how happy I'll be to lose this weight and get back in my size 8/10's!! Eeek! My consultant is coming tomorrow with my food packs, so I'm starting monday xx

    brill! am excited for you! it does feel good to know that something positive is gonna happen! I can't wait! have you tried green tea yet? I bought some and its not too bad... even my 3 year old likes it! lol! from what I have read you can have it with sweetner when doing the CD so if you haven't yet braved it have a go! I have also been trying to increase my water but thats hard esp when chasing round after my 3! good luck for monday. let me know how you go... xxx

    Yeah I'm still on MAT pay as well its murder isn't it!! I lost 5lb this week I was rather pleased!! And Danielle I'm happy to talk to anyone :) xx

    Yeah Ihave been taking photos every week to see the difference and u really can, gone is my double chin! and I have a waist again! but still got a long way to go! went shopping for a dress as my daughters christening is coming up and I tried on a UK 18 which was to big (couldn't get into that before) and ended up buying the UK16!! was so happy!! lol
    Good luck Danielle, the first few days are the hardest so once u get into ketosis u wont be hungry! I didn't eat today untill 6pm and not one little bit of hunger!! and remember to drink as much water as u can, just always have a glass or bottle handy and ul start to drink it more and more. I put mine in bottles in the fridge so i know im having enough a day, even if im going out i fill smaller bottles from these as with a baby its hard to keep track xx
