Now taking off the 5th stone with C25K & Slimming World

Yes a packed lunch is a good idea. I did think about that but there is a group of us who 'do lunch' and it is part of our day to go to the cafe. Maybe I'll just save my syns that day for lunch.

Well, went to class tonight, lost half a pound - still not under 200lbs but....I won Woman of the Year which is a Slimming World award for the person who has most inspired the group. I was well chuffed although a bit embarressed. Apparently my consultant had a sash, flowers and all sorts of bits ready to award me last week but I'd bunked off. I have only missed two weeks in nearly 6 months, one for a holiday and then last week. What a week to miss - so typical of me!:D

Well, its been a busy few days. Lots of work, lots of homework from uni and a family wedding which was the best wedding I have ever been to.

I have seen some of the photos and I actually look as good as I thought I looked. By that I mean that the photos reflected the same me I see in the mirror. Not sure I am making much sense but I never saw how big I had got, not until I saw that photo the other day. 3 and a half stone lighter and now I look how I want to look. It was a great feeling. My aunt, who I had not seen since my mum's funeral, noticed I'd lost weight and so that pleased me as I had got much bigger since mum died and so to lose that extra weight and then some more was really pleasing.

However, I have way over eaten the last few days and so I expect a gain at WI on Tuesday. That is a shame as I will be getting my sash for being group winner of the year ths week but its not every week I get involved in a such a special weekend so I'll forgive myself and get back right on track as of now.

Well another day yesterday of overeating. Another take-away virtue of feeling still a little bit too fragile to cook. Ah, the perils of getting old and not dealing well with hangovers.:D

Hopefully, today will be a back on plan day. I'm at uni all day and so it shouldn't be too hard. I'll see how things go when I get home.

I hope for a good eating day today and then a gym visit tomorrow and then hopefully, the scales wont be too bad on Tuesday evening.

I've been reading your diary, very well done on being Slimmer of the year, that is amazing.

Good luck at tonight's WI I will be looking to see what happens later.

Hi and thanks.:)

I got a sash, flowers and a key ring tonight for being Group Woman of the Year. I was very pleased indeed.

However....I did put on 2 pound but that was less than I was expecting after 4 days off plan so not too bad.

Did a spin class this morning which really got me motivated again. Booked in for a Body Pump tomorrow and will be trying to do a lot of exercise this week to help shift a good few pounds next week; Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout style. :p

Body pumped last night - loved it. Did a quick 1k after. Well a 8.17 min 1k on the treadmiil. Managed 3 and a half mins at 8kpm before needing to slow down to a walk. Booked a spin express class for tonight - its only 45 mins instead of an hour.

Reviewed food yesterday and it seemed I did a SW Green Day. Have always followed their Extra Easy plan as it is just that, but I have a lot of days when I would like more cheese and more bread/Alpen Lights and with Green I can have them. Fantatsic, will give it a try as the plans are designed to be swapped even though EE is the main one now - wont be Greening it today though as off to Nandos for lunch!:D

I am still feeling really positive about this week and getting below 200 pounds.

Yesterday, I felt like I could take on anything, its nice to be feeling that confident. Being in control of my food and weight seems to make such subtle but important differences to how I feel about my place in the world. :)

PS. I have discovered I really like fresh mangos. More of those on my shopping order each week now.

Legs are aching a bit this morning after two spin classes and one body pump in the last three days and so, a day off from exercise today as I have an 8 mile walk planned tomorrow (hopefully the weather wont be too bad!). A walk to and from the bus stop will be as active as it gets today.

Enjoyed my chicken wrap in Nandos yesterday. Went with a friend who has been doing the Cambridge Diet. She has lost nearly three stone (10lb last week alone!) but is worried about putting weight on when she starts eating normal food again. She is looking the best I have ever seen - really fabulous. However, what she said made me glad that I have followed SW as it is all about eating normally and is very easy to incorporate into daily and family life. A colleague is doing Weight Watchers and he was working out the points for his sandwich at a lunch the other day. I couldn't be bothered with pointing every bit of food that passes my lips anymore than I could eat processed food and shakes that are delivered my door. I struck lucky with SW, I only went as my neice recomended it as her mum had lost a lot of weight with them. I'd not bothered before as it was red and green days which seemed non-sustainable but this new Extra Easy is perfect as far as I am concerned.

Anyway, enough with the SW marketing LOL, shirts to iron. :D

Heya huni, you're doing so well! I just caught up with everything I've missed and I'm so impressed with you man! Congrats on the slimming world woman thingy, that's awesome.
Keep it up!

Thanks Pink. I've felt a bit plateau like in the last few weeks but think I am now moving again.

I am hoping to finally break that 200lb barrier this week, a month late but better late than never!

I dont really have anything to get in my way over the next few weeks and so hopefully I can shift another 1.5 - 2 stone before Christmas.

I have agreed to do a 5k run with my friend next year and so will start training for that in earnest in January when hopefully I'll be a fair bit lighter and so less likely to hurt my joints. In the meantime, I'll carry on with my current gym classes which I love.

I am not planning any exercise today as my hip flexor muscles are feeling a bit worn after my 9 mile walk yesterday. The back of the tops of my calfs feel a bit worn too. If I do anything it will be a swim.

Food wise, I've been on plan. Did a Green Day yesterday and the day before but found it quite restricting and ended up hungry and so back on Extra Easy today.

Good luck breaking the barrier!! I'm sure you'll do it!
I keep on thinking about signing up for some sort of charity run to get me motivated, but I duno, it's probably a good idea.
Best wishes.

I reckon it will be a good motivator. I watched the final Biggest Loser contestents do a marathon in last night's episode. That was inspirational!

Ok WI is tonight, I want to get under 200 pounds as I am now 4 weeks passed my original target date for that.

After tonight, I can do my end of month review. Sept hasn't been great but hopefully a good loss tonight will get me fully back on the wagon.

A 4.5lb loss tonight so last week's 2 pound back off plus another 2.5. I am very happy. The WI lady called me a B*tch (in jest of course).

That is 3 stone 10 and a half pound. This last 10 pound has been hard work, I started this dairy at 3 stone and half a pound back at the end of July. Now the end of Sept is here, all my major events are out of the way and so I can get my head down and focus on a good loss every week right up til Christmas. Hell, I may even reach my target by then! I'll still be overweight BMI wise but I think I'll be happy at that weight. It should leave me as a size 12/14. That Dannii dress may be mine for Christmas! :D

OK end of month review:

Weight - Only 3 pound off in total but that is better than 3 on I guess. The wedding weekend hampered things slightly but so did being off plan at the beginning of the month when I struggled to want to eat healthilly. I guess we all plateau and struggle at some point and hopefully I am now through my barrier.

I'm now more aware of how TOTM can affect my weight loss journey so I can hopefully deal with those times better.

My final target has been revised and so I have less than 2 stone to go. I want to get 8 pound off this month.

Exercise - This week I did 3 spin classes, 1 body pump, a 9 mile walk and have been out on my pushbike. I dont normally do quite that much every week but I am very happy with my approach to exercise now. I may give zumba and/or Body Combat a go over the next few weeks just to keep the routine fresh.

Life in general - No complaints really. I'm feeling very good in myself. Have been asked to attend a SW meeting to become a consultant so may go along to see whats its all about. I dont think I could currently fit it in but may have a nose and ponder starting a group next year once my studies are nearly finished. Being a part time student, a mum and a part time worker is probably quite enough for now. :)

Um yes I think that's enough for now! Crikey, I feel like I should be bowing at your feet or something. I'm properly stressing out just being a student.

Congrats on the weightloss, that's an amazing amount! You're doing really well, which isn't surprising when you see the amount of exercise you've done, blimey woman, you're going for it arent you!

Keep it up!!!

Thanks Pink!:D

Exercise has been non-existent since Tuesday - I missed Weds eve body bump as I went to a special screening of 'Made in Dagenham' and I've been really busy with work. Plans to make up for it today went pearshaped as feeling lazy!

Off out for a carvery later and got two meals out tomorrow due to bad timing on my part of accepting invites out.

Hoping to maintain on the scales this week - not stopping to class as off out to watch a play on Tuesday eve but will go for it next week as no plans to be socialable (yet!).

Glad to hear you broke the 200lb barrier :)

Oo how was the film? I really want to go an see that!
Well you did epic amounts of exercise last week so I'm sure you'll be ok.
Hope you have a good week :)

Thanks Twizzle - may have found it again this week though as I ended up having 4 meals out; one Saturday, two Sunday and one yesterday! Mmm I did try and choose well and only sucumbed to one dessert and one glass fo wine in all those meals but its not as easy as it can be when cooking yourself.

Its also TOTM. Started yesterday 4 Oct (29 days this time).

As I've been away no exercise for a few days but will go down gym later today - the 9.30 spin class may be out of my reach as I'm still in my PJs and very tired from my galavanting.

Not one of my better weeks but at least its weight-in tonight so I can get to class, accept a small gain and start over ready to get into the 13s next week.

The film was brilliant. I had family in the Dagenham area and so Fords was a real part of the landscape (physically and socially) when I was a child and it was interesting to see genuine old footage plus shots from how the area is now as some of the filming took place in Romford and Rainham.

Its a great story and the producers (and a feminist and a unionist) were part of a panel chat after which was really interesting.

The film covers class issues, sex equality issues, capitalist v socialist issues, dodgy unions reps, principles v affording to eat issues, Governmental dichotmony plus laughter, pain and a great cast.

I loved it. :D
