red day gain...

    morning all

    im usually a green day girl with usually a day of following red..
    yesterday i really enjoyed my red day so thought id have another one today!!..
    just popped on the scales and it looks like ive actually put on a pound since yesterday:mad:

    does anyone else find that they gain on red days ... i do feel a little bit thicker around the stomach today aswell..:confused:

    Is today your WI day?
    If not, there should be no popping on the scales!!

    One day will not make you gain. If anything, people say they see better losses on red - personally I'm hungry on them!!

    It'll just be food that is stil inside your intestines that hasn't been digested/come out the other end yet! Its no different to filling your pockets with food, it doesn't just evaporate the second you eat it! :D Now get off the damn scales til WI day! :whoopass:

    i dont go to class but am doing it from home.. i tend to have monday if any day as a weigh day as i started the plan on a monday..
    i looked at the scales yesterday and i could see that id lost about 3 pounds..chuffed i was ..and then ive just weighed myself and ive put a pound back on ..
    i know its my own fault for getting on the scales again i do tend to stay away from as i find them very disheartening!!..but i cant believe ive put weight on in a day !!!

    You haven't "put weight on" in a day. Our weight fluctuates daily, for a number of reasons - what we've eaten, if we've been to the loo, water retention etc etc.
    This is the reason we get weighed once a week. It's only Tuesday!! Wait until Monday and get weighed again. No wonder you are getting disheartened.

    I put on five pounds the day after my last WI, it's disappeared again now. Maybe it will be back again by tomorrow, I have no idea.

    I do SW from home too and admit to being a serial weigher but I accept that none of it is meaningful, it's just a number that varies depending on what I've eaten, what Im wearing, time of day, the blips of the scales ad nauseum. I can get on and off the scales five times in succession but I wont get five identical readings. Its the average figure over the long term that matters. (By long term I mean, say, a month or more - NOT just a week).

    If you find it difficult to ignore the number you really have to just get off the scales until next WI. :)

    like i say i dont normally scale hop because i do find the number i see pretty depressing.. if its not moving along as fast as i think it should, but today curiosity got the better of me because i was feeling a bit bloated this morning, and just wondered if yesterdays meals had contributed to this, ..
    i have a feeling that *week might be making an apperance though so this could also be a reason for me feeling abit bloated anyways
    ..:sigh:
    i am actually going to put the scales away as at the minute they are in the bathroom so are always looking at me ..willing me to stand on them :D

    Great advice already given - dont worry about midweek results, just try to focus on the weekly one. x
