Reminder about copyright - PLEASE READ

It is not a question of whether it is sensible, or reasonable, or picky, or whatever. I could (and do!) say that the speed limit just up the road from me is unreasonable and stupid, but no amount of saying that changes the fact that if I break that speed limit I will get fined. A similar situation applies here - copyright law has nothing to do with what is sensible or reasonable! A website like this, which makes constant reference to commercial companies and their products, can ONLY exist with the goodwill of those companies. It is a delicate balance, and if what we say here jeopardises that goodwill, then we MUST be stopped from doing it, otherwise we put the whole website at risk.

There's just no need for you to be like that, I wasn't getting on any high horse lol!

I wasn't aware that we could not post links to the site and I feel there could of been a better way to go about telling people who have accidently done this (like via a personal message or something instead of having a moan/dig at them on the actual thread). That's just attacking individuals and making them feel stupid for everyone else to see and read! x

The reason it was done on a thread is because there have been four or five members who've done it the past few days. It's not moaning or digging at people nor is it attacking anyone. No one was singled out or highlighted it was a general reminder to stop more posts of a similar nature and just a reminder of a very important forum rule

If someone breaks a rule etc then they usually get a pm explaining but due to the number of people who were posting from the SW site it made more sense to do a general message. Plus several members were new and can't be pmd.

Bottom line is Moderators have to do what's in minimins best interests and if a couple of people get offended by a general reminder thread then sorry but I think it's better that than SW withdrawing their cooperation and placing restrictions on us
