Side effects of coming out of ketosis?

Ok so i slipped up today after a terribley stressful day. rather disappointed with myself and a little scared at what to expect now

i had a small piece of carrot cake, 3 cheese quavers & some mini breadsticks:eek: so im pretty sure i wont be in ketosis anymore.

i dont feel hungry yet though. will that come later? also shall i expect my weight to spike up? roughly how much?

i've gone up about 1½lbs but i was expecting much more, or will i wake up tomorrow and see a big gain (water etc?)

this was my first cheats and i've learnt my lesson, the worry isnt worth it.

sorry for the whinge, just wondered if anyone else can give me their experiences of slip ups xx

hey no advice re: ketosis, just wanted to say don't be too hard on yourself for slipping up, you are human afterall & it's allowed. Tomorrow is a new day!

Hi,

I had a slip up yesterday lunchtime but my ketostix say i am still in ketosis? I havent got any scales at home so only get weighed by my CDC - on a Friday.

It wont matter too much whether you are or not.

Possibly, possibly not, but it will only be water/glycogen

Umm. Not quite sure how you know you've gone up 1.5lbs, if you blipped today :confused: Your weight will change throughout the course of the day anyway.

There really is no need to worry about the weight thing, and certainly no need to worry about ketosis.

The main concern is usually that one 'cheat' can lead to another and before you know it, the cheats get bigger and the weight loss slower.

As long as you get your head really focused now, you'll be okay :)

i got weighed last night by cdc on my scales and same time tonight they are 1.5lb more. i just was expecting alot more as i'd eaten something. wondered if a big water/glycogen gain would suddenly catch up with me at some point.

i am focussed now, just cant help being upset about today. i struggled for months to shift weight then started CD and dropped 13lb in 2 weeks. worried i had undone all my good work with one off day.:(

Ahhh, I see :) It's probably caught up already. If not, the water will probably be off in 24 hours of CD SS.

Absolutely not. 3,500 calories for a pound of fat. You possibly had...I dunno..depends on how many breadsticks, but it aint going to be anything close to 3,500 cals;)

You'll be fine :)

Don't worry sweetie! I've had multiple slip ups since Saturday, and fortunately stayed the same weight. No more slip ups for me.
