Socialising???

How do you all cope doing soul source in social situations, or are you just not bothering with nights out until you get closer to goal?
Up until now my social life has revolved around eating and drinking. Every other weekend the girls go to their dads for friday night through to saturday evening, so when that happens and we have some extra cash we either go out to eat or go down the pub! Trying to stick to soul source and still doing that is impossible.
I've contemplated the cinema but i know how hard i find it to stick to ss at home let alone with the smell of popcorn wafting all over the place.
What do you guys do??

I still used to go out "drinking" with hubby and friends, but obviously not for meals. When any of my girl friends had birthdays etc, then I would join them in the restaurant towards the end of the meal and drink a glass of water. Then we would usually go on to the pub, I just stuck to the water, sometimes "fizzy" for a change lol. They were always grateful at the end of the evening, as I was the sober one with a car lol xxxx

I have not been going out for meals and my OH is fine with that. He socialises a lot with work and is always out for dinner so he is not missing out.

We usually go out for dinner several times a month but I so want this weight off and he is being very supportive with that. I still cook him lovely meals as I don't want him feeling deprived whilst I am depriving myself.

I went out on Saturday night with girlfriends and just drank water, but then I am not much of a drinker anyway and take the car usually so I managed just fine.

I haven't yet had to deal with going out for a meal - or avoiding it!!

It was my Auntys 50th on the weekend and i just stuck to the water - I don't drink alot anyway, but i think people were starting to suspect i was pregnant!!! Ha ha - hopefully in 9 months i'll be half the size not twice the size!!!!! :p

I've been sticking to water but haven't been out that many times. Have convinced friends to go for a coffee rather than a glass of wine as well. I go to the cinema most weeks and bring a tetra and a bottle of fizzy water...I like to think I'm being superior to all these people who are incapable of watching a film without stuffing their faces with fattening foods and sugary drinks (but really I'm just jealous :D)

I've become a temporary hermit - or a caterpillar waiting to emerge from its crysalis :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: no actually I've chosen the route of not going out a the moment really... Funds are low post Xmas so its not bothered me this month at all.

I'm quite happy to go to the cinema and not stuff, not got anyone to go with though... Well unless I take the kids to the kids films!

I've got a date planned in March - with a new man so I'll keep ya posted....

Other than that my life is mostly water, soups, packs 1 bar a day, the internet and early nights:gen147: :gen147:.... I'm gonna look 10 years younger by the end of March xxxx

Oooooh my gossip senses are tingling!! Prospective new man??? Do tell more...............

I still go out, you can't not live life. If you go to the movies, bring in your own healthy snacks cereal, trail mix, pretzels, dried fruit, something to keep you munching thru the movie, or cut up apple slices, then drink water.

When out in the bar, get a virgin bloody mary (tomatoe juice with celery, olives, etc.) Or else order a diet soda with a straw or club soda with a twist of lime, nobody will know your staying on plan because all of these look like real drinks, and you can sip to your hearts content while being social and NO HANGOVER either!

OOOooooooooooo I've not seen him in the flesh for nearly 10yrs - we had a thing years ago but he was married at the time I was with my BF, who I then married etc etc & we re-met via email from a mutual work friend.... I've been in touch with him just friends for past 2 years but I split up with OH last June (another long long story) & he's still in the background but I've been keeping him at arms length xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I don't go out on night outs when SS,Ok being honest I didn't go out when not SS either since having the kids!We don't go out for meals now i am SS but will get the kids a mcd's or a bag of chips or whatever when out and I just don't have it.If we are out for the day I just make sure I have either a banana bliss or a bar with me,and still drink a ton of water

I've been out for a few meals whilst on SS and I just explain what I am doing and have a large coffee and bottle of water.

Gx

While ive been doing the ss ive been going to the cinema and bowling more cause you can just take your water with you and carry on as normal. found it difficult going shopping with my mum but ive managed to get over that now.
Normally before i was on the diet i used to go out at weekends for meals and be drinking a few bottles of wine over the weekend.
