They say a change is as good as a holiday!lol! Hope it all goes well angel! Looking forward to looking through all your shizzle over a nice cup of tea! :)

Im back shift this week Tues - Thurs but off the weekend so let me know when youre free xx

Hmmm believe me deciding to change has been a very hard choice for me. Ive done WW for over 2 years and lost over 180lbs. I still believe WW is without question THE best diet there is

I didn't think it would be an easy decision for you. However I am curious to know why after losing 180lbs and stating that you think WW is the best diet you would go to something else.

I am not saying what you are doing is wrong and I have done both of these diets. They do teach you different eating habits though.

Basically Ive 'lost my click' this year. Since my dad died Ive struggled to stay on track with WW. I think Im too complacent with it and Im not doing it properly.

WW really does suir me better for socialising etc but I just feel I need a change to shake me up. Im looking at doing SW to lose some more weight and then probably come back to WW to finish off and for maintenance.

Too many weeks are slipping by when Im not doing a full week, something has to change, Im too far from goal yet so hopefully a new diet will get me all fired up again - fingers crossed

Hi Sandy

Good idea to buy foods that you don't know the points for ... I've done SW in the past and it's worked well - even though I couldn't tell why because if you pointed the food I ate it would have been well over my points!

A new diet and a new start sounds like the best plan for you and I wish you lots of luck!

You will soon be firing on all cylinders Sandy, the change will do you good as you will need to concentrate hard to get into the new diet just like when you began WW and that should do the trick to get you started again.

Without doubt you will do this - look how far you've come and you're willing to make a change to acheive your goal so underneath you still have the right mindset.

Everything crossed for you

how does SW work?

Its a bit complicated but I'll explain the best I can:

1. you have three different plans to choose from GREEN days (unlimited carbs) RED days (unlimited proteins, eg meat fish) or EXTRA EASY days (which means you can eat all the foods that are free on both green and red together unlimited).

2. So once you have chosen a plan to follow (and you can swap and change them every day if you want), you have a list of free foods that you can eat unlimited.

3. You then have healthy extras, you can have 2 A's which are cheese milk etc basically your calcium and 2 B's which are fibre rich foods such as cereal, breads etc.

4. Then finally you can have between 5-15 syns each day, synned food is simplistically foods that don't come under the above categories, eg you can have a packet of baked of Walkers baked for 5 syns or a treatsize caramel for 4.5 syns.

And that basically is it, apart from on EXTRA EASY days you only have 1 healthy extra a and one healthy extra b.

I'm a vegetarian so only do green days, so a sample menu for me would be:

Breakfast - 2 weetabix (HEB) , chopped banana (free)

Mid morning snack: 1 Alpen Light Bar (1/2 HEB), fruit pot (Free)

Lunch - homemade falafel (Free), salad (Free), small amount of sweet chilli sauce (1 syn), fat free yoghurt (free)

Mid afternoon snack - Alpen Light bar (1/2 HEB), nectarine (Free)

Dinner - homemade quorn bolognese (Free), wholewheat spagetti (free), low fat cheddar cheese (HEA)

Others - 350mls skimmed milk (HEA), treatsize crunchie (4.5 syns) options drink (2.5 syns)

total syns for this day are 8

plus I always have about 4 pints of water.

Hope that kinda explains it for you, I have all the literature electronically if you want me to send it to you.

Ok so heres something I never thought Id say - Im STILL not eating enough!!! Im pleasantly surprised though, the main thing that put me off SW in the past was the lack of portion control but so far it hasnt been a problem.

Im SO happy I discovered my favourite Macaroni meal is free!! So Im about to have it with a tin of tuna and some grated cheese for lunch - so exicted lol

Im off work now til Monday then early shift for a few days so a more 'normal' routine so Im hoping to really get into the swing of it.

No wi til a week on Monday though - not sure I can contain myself that long lol
