>>> The 2012 Six Stone Challenge Thread <<<

Well I did it. I joined the gym. And had an hour's workout! I bet I'll feel that in the morning lol
I've already decided I hate the cross trainer, and I'm too short to reach the bar on that weight bench thing where you pull the bar down to your chest.... my friend literally had to get it for me and put it back when I was finished LOL

Going to try and go again tomorrow evening, and might just pop the cossie in the bag for a go at the spa and steam room!

Feeling really buzzed at the minute... think it's the happy hormones from exercising :p

Fatbegone, don't let your past (the ex) ruin your present or your future won't be as good as you'd like!

Ellen...poor you. Get yourself to bed and hopefully stay there and get a great night's sleep x

Made a yummy turkey rissole today with leeks, onions, peppers, parsley, garlic. Very yummy :D and I am addicted to rivettas crackerbread :D yum yum especially with a small spread of I cant believe its not butter light xx

I thought it depends on the ham? I don't really eat ham myself.

A few of us ladies have signed up for a 13 mile midnight walk in July. Fun fun

Where will u be doing that? That's brilliant.. Gonna see how I go with my treadmill and want to do the same thing very soon :))

Yep walk or jog or run the 5k! I'm doing the 5k. I've done it twice before at a stone - 3 stone heavier than I am now and did it once in 55 mins and another time in 65 :) I'm aiming to do it in the 45 mins!

I can't recommend it enough, its quite moving and emotional I ve found. Everyone's running for the same reason. Amazing :)

I'm going to run then walk run the walk etc etc interval training it the whole time. Everyone sign up! It's fabulous! :).

Went to bake sale, I didn't bake anything hehe. But I enjoyed a slice of lemon drizzle cake (how many syns?) And sipped my water so still got both hea and hebs left! Yay.

Sooo tired. Finished work at 2 but now my body won't let me sleep! Grr!

Not sure how many syns the cake would be I'm afraid.. Are u exercising as well as sw'ing?

hello girlies and boy :wavey:, well I'm off to my first class tonight, gonna pay for a 12 week countdown but gonna check with G.P first to see if they can do a referral (don't hold out much hope, I've asked before and been told they don't do it) so either way I'm starting tonight.
last few days I've eaten anything I wanted and not felt guilty but need to get the water into me as I've got a cold as well.

thinking for a little challenge, how about we each post up our favourite food/meal and others can post the recipe (if they have one) or point us to where we can get it as a lower syn version......reading about others favs might inspire us to try them.

or post our top 5 low syn treats

well done on all the losses tho peeps

Hello darling

How did class go? Tell us all about it :) how was the C? The people? I want to know everything? Were u able to get a referral from the doctor?

Your challenge sounds great! You first :D

Hey people! (can't say girls anymore lol)

So far today I've been doing well.

Breakfast: 2 slices wholemeal toast with flora light (4 syns). Had used the last bits of fruit for kids' lunch so had no sf with breakfast.

Lunch: 3 slices ham with mixed salad leaves (not sure how many sf was in it since they were all different leaves...so just going to count as one) and light salad cream (2 syns)

Plans for dinner: Spag bol with extra mushrooms, onion, and salad (sf 2,3 and 4)

Gym after dinner (first time EVER!) and planning on a Muller Light with chopped apple, a banana and some raspberries (sf 5, 6 and 7) when I get home around 8pm or so.

That leaves me with 9 syns so I reckon I'll have either a curly wurly or a Hi-fi bar.

Have drank almost a litre of water so far. I'm not so good at drinking water. I just hate the nothing-taste of it, and absolutely despise diluted juice. I did buy some diluted stuff that I think I'll be better at drinking today in the food shop.... we'll see! I'm bound to drink gallons at the gym and love every drop lol

How was gym Mandy? What exercises did u do? And there's loads of yummy diluted squashes! I love mango and orange and orange and pineapple (robinsons) they are yummy!!

I'm the same mandy, really struggle with drinking the water!

Superfree I find quite do able! Have had
-raspberries
- broccoli
- red peppers
- pineapple
- carrots
- cauliflower

Hmmm not had anything else superfree! 6 will have to do. Going to drink my 2 ltr throughout evening as working til 2.

I'm not eating meat only fish this week so going to see if that helps!

Exercising again as of Saturday morning, I'm too tired doing the nights and afternoon job and juggling my boy.

Dreading tomorrow. Working til 2am and have to see the ex to discuss access regarding our boy after school run. I'll need willpower a plenty as when I'm stressed I eat! So think ill pop my running gear in the car and if i feel the urge to go to the cake shop ill go for a run instead!

Just talk to a when you're stressed.. And don't let anyone make u eat naughty things! You've done great, don't let all of your hard work go to waste xx

T11cky! I'm shocked! What a total b1tch! It's okay though cos you're better to find out this kind of stuff early. God forbid you settled down with this woman and then got a terminal illness.... she'd be gone so fast your head would spin! And besides, when you slim down and look all hunky, she'll be so jealous haha

Rozie, I haven't met my personal trainer yet, but will be meeting him on Tuesday. I specifically asked for the sexiest one haha and they obliged. You don't get what you don't ask for, right? Anyway, I done a warm up on the bike, then tried out a stepper thing, and the bar thing, where you sit on a bench and pull the bar down to your chest. Then I tried a hand bike, the cross trainer and the treadmill. All in all we were working out for about an hour. It was like circuit training though in that we were really just trying out the machines. I like the handbike, which is supposed to be good for toning your arms, which I desperately need. I liked the bike and the treadmill too (where I got up to 6km on an incline which isn't too shabby!). The stepper and cross trainer were very hard to get the hang of and I don't think I'd do more than 5-10 mins on each for a while. That bar thing was sooo hard cos I'm so short I couldn't reach the bar in the first place lol.

There are loads of classes going on in different rooms. I'd be terrified of the spinning class haha. The best thing about it is there's a little café area where you can go after your work out and make yourself a cup of tea/coffee or have some juice and fruit, and it's all free. There's even a balcony with tables and chairs you can sit down on to cool off.

Really going to have to make a day of it soon and go to the spa (steam room, snow room, salt scrub) and have a go at this waterfall thingy in the pool which is supposed to be great for massaging your muscles.

I'm really pleased, as even while I was signing up I kept thinking "I'm gonna hate this place..." but I really enjoyed it.
Going to try and go again this evening when OH comes home. Babs isn't well today (vomiting bug) so I won't get out at all until he's home from work and will definitely need a way to let off steam!

Surprised I'm not as sore as I imagined I'd be. A little stiff. I can definitely tell I was working out, but I'm not so bad that I couldn't do it all again today. Guess I'm fitter than I thought!

T11cky, Mandy is right.. See this as a blessing in disguise.. Horrible woman she turned out to be.

Mandy check you out! That's fantastic, so glad you enjoyed it.. And you got to try alot of the machines which is great.. Gives you a better understanding of what you can focus on in future sessions..

Don't over do it and you wont be stiff hopefully.. Gradually increase the time and intensity and you'll be fitter, slimmer and healthier in no time x

Unfortunately, my gym buddy can't go this evening and I'm still too new to want to go by myself lol so I won't be going tonight.

Today's food has been pretty good!

Breakfast: 1 slice wholemeal toast with flora light (2 syns) and a banana (sf 1)

Snack: Apple (sf 2)

Lunch: 2 egg ommelette with some mozzarella (HEXA) and salad with cous cous, finely chopped carrot, red onion and salad leaves, with light mayo (2 syns) (sf 3, 4 and 5)

No idea what to do for dinner, but since we had pasta yesterday, I think I'll go for some potatoes today. Maybe with a chicken breast covered in chicken stock and pepper, with turnip and some frozen mixed veg. Which will be sf 6, 7, 8 and 9 lol

And later on I'm planning another Muller light and a Hi-fi bar (3 syns since I split my HEXB), and pack of low fat crisps (5 syns)

Which will leave me with 3 syns if I fancy an options hot choc... mmmm

T11cky!! Shocking!!!!! Your well rid .You deserve better.xx

Mandy, go you at the gym!!! That's fantastic and sounds great.Hope your little one feels better soon.

Ellen, love your new elliptical trainer.Hope your little one feels better soon, poor thing .

Well done to you all that have signed up for rfl that's brilliant.

Yay!!! It's friday. I'm going away this weekend, can't wait.We are staying in a cottage that has it's own swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Now the thing is i haven't been swimming for years:eek::eek: I have had to buy a new swimdress. Now this will be a deffo nsv for me getting back into a pool.Looking forward to it excited but also nervous.com lol. Will be staying on plan and will be using syns for treats.Going to be taking loads of lovely free snacks with us.Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Roziee, will look in to starting a diary when i get back.Have you tried the grapefruit yet? I'm now additcted to it.

Silly me,poor memory.Fatbegone you look great hunni :)

Rialrees, we have an artist!!! Fab drawing.

Ahhh mandy so pleased your loving the gym!! :) I loveeee going once I'm there. Apparently I'm entitled to free gym membership while I'm working there so going to enquire.. although ours isntas lovely as yours sounds!!

I think its far better to do each piece of equipment rather than stick to one as it'll work the whole body rather than just one. I know what you mean about the cross trainer, they take some getting used too!

Didn't see the ex. I just called him and said if you want to see our lad tomorrow is fine and originally he said 9-5.30 but bit by bit its slowly decreased to 11am-3.30 ! But atkeast he is seeing him and I can have a couple hours peace. Going to hit the gym/go for a run then wash my hair, shellac my nails and pick my boy up all dolled up. Ex said to me on the phone are you still on that silky diet, when will you realise you'll always be big. Sooo watch me wiggle my way down the drive way pick up our boy and leave tomorrow afternoon!! :) hehe.

Been shopping this morning.. the.novelty of going shopping and buying a pair of jeans and 4 tops all for £23 and not needing to try them on will never wear off. It's fab :) :)

Right I'm off to have an hours sleep before the fun and games of working tonight starts.

Had an alpen bar before school run and just had 2 poached eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms and it was lovely. I had a slice of white weight watchers danish bread, what's the syns for that? Is it 3 like the brown ww bread?

Everyone tonight at work is ordering Chinese but fortunately I don't fancy it anyway so going to nibble on raspberries and water.

Oooooh.. do you remember i was saying how bad my skin was and I was surprised as the diet should be helping ?? Well after 10 days of using boots cleanse sensitive wipes and moisturising my skins actually almost glowing. Sooo if anyone else has the same problem I'd really recommend boots own range sensitive cleanse / tone range. Amazing! Id put up before and after but they're gross haha. Trust me :) just thought id share it as I know what a knock it is when your eating right but your body and skin isn't showing it.

Well that was a massive blip wasn't it!! Haven't been on plan for nearly a month!!! But.....went back to the gym on Tuesday and have managed to get there every morning this week, feel so much better for it, really energised during the day and nicely relaxed at night. Have been back on plan this week too but not being overly strict, a few G and T's with the girls on Wednesday and a piece of birthday cake on Thursday. Have decided not to go to group anymore and save the money to pay for my gym membership, I am able to get a cheap rate at the college were I work. My WI is going to be at the gym on a Friday which allows me to have a social day or two at the weekend and gives me a week to rectify any over syning of I need to, well this week the scale say 15.12 and a half lb, so a gain of 4lb in the last four weeks, could of been worse and if I'm careful I can lose that in the next couple of weeks. I must admit before my holiday I was become a little dissillutioned with the thread, there seemed to be alot of rather negative and judgemental comments being made which saddened me greatly as I had found this thread a source of great support, reading through the thread I see that others had felt the same....so lets hope we can move on and continue to be fabulous, positive and caring of each others feelings......yes I am an unabashed hippy dippy love and lighter....but I don't care!!..much love xx

Hello stranger! How are u? That's brilliant!!! Do let me know how much I should update u stats by x

For the stats- i've lost 1st 9.5lbs!
How are you doing?! xx

Thanks Kenco.. she's perked up a bit since this morning, so I decided to go for a cycle with her in her trailer. My Lord she's a heavy one to tote around lol. 3 stone of baby plus 2 stone of trailer, plus 15 stone of me... that bike is an absolute miracle to haul all that around :p

Fatbegone... fortunately, my skin has never been very prone to spots or anything. I don't even use a moisturiser lol Enjoy your few hours to yourself!

PD... so glad you're back, and back on plan. So you had a blip, and put on some poundage. So what?! You're back at it now and you'll lose that in no time. I agree with you on the negativity... I love this thread and find it's one of only 2 or 3 places I'd actually go to for advice/commiserations/kick up the bum.

Joanne! Well done on the 1st 9.5lb! Go you!

Major non-scale victory today! My local tesco were selling a HUGE tray of gorgeous looking cupcakes right by the front door (for the second time this week o_O ) and I WALKED RIGHT PAST THEM!

Didn't so much as blink. Oh, except when I asked the woman at the table if I could take a picture for my blog lol! I don't think she knew wtf I was on about ;) Wrote it up and popped in pictures:
Fatty Von Chocolate's Slimming Adventure: Argh! What's going on?

Managed a swim this morning too, although I'd rather go back to zumba and watch the sexy instructor dance again (phwoar)
