>>> The 2012 Six Stone Challenge Thread <<<

Yeah it could have been a lot worse. At least hair will grow back.

well done on all the losses girls and to those that have maintained after a hectic week, I am struggling with getting the water into me, I managed 1.5 litres yesterday which is a vast improvement on what I normally drink.
Need to up it again today as I haven't had a drop yet only a cup of coffee, however as I was starving I've already had my lunch.
I need to start exercising again as a few weeks ago when I was doing weights (low weight, high reps) 3 times a week, I was losing weight (usually a pound) even with eating lots of rubbish (doughnuts, ready meals, takeways, cakes, biccies etc).
I have however (go me) signed up to tennis cardio which is being run by my local council, its on once a week for 12 weeks but it doesn't start till 17th June so it gives me some time to lose a little (or a lot) and start getting some exercise into my daily routine.

Looking forward to weigh in thursday night, I'm interested to see how much I have lost and it will be a loss.

at least she wasn't hurt although it's enough of a shock that she's got hardly any hair.

my friend done that to me when I was 5, we were playing hairdressers and my hair was almost at my bum, his mum caught him halfway through and nearly died, I had a bob shortly after that he'd cut it that short :D

Rozie, I write a lot of supernatural fiction. I always seem to start the books, get most of the way through and then leave them lol kind of like my dieting record until now!
But this time I'm doing the research first and having a brainstorm and writing down all my ideas and storylines before I start writing and it gets away from me.
The Fae are the Daoine Sidhe, (or fairies!) to non-Irish lol. I did a project on them while in college so I know a fair bit about them, but not nearly enough to fill a book, so I'm going to do a bit more research, get my characters and story sorted and then go hell for leather. I might even send this one away and see if I can get it published. Plus, I've signed up for another hypnotherapy session with a different therapist, who specialises in stage fright and am going to get this fear of performing sorted too.
I've all sorts of balls in the air lately!

Ooo I like fairies!!!! You must show us a snippet of something you've written Mandy!

And it's great that you have all of these lively balls in the air- its great for the old brain cells x

I used to do a lot of rowing (indoor, not in a boat or anything :D). I got quite good at it and was, well still am, a member of a vitual rowing team. They have challanges and competitions etc. I really haven't done much in the last year, it just fizzled out which of course led to more weight gain. I've always done a lot of exercise over the years but unfortunately your body does get used to a certain level of activity in terms of weight loss but the real benefit is muscle tone and shape. You can weigh a lot but not look 'fat' if that makes sense. I need to build up slowly so I'm aiming to start with sessions of 20 mins cycling, 15 mins rowing (building to 30 mins) and 15 mins on the threadmill then time permitting, weights work on alternate muscle groups (legs one day, arms and chest, back etc.).Maybe 2-3 times a week. It feels quite ambitious as I type it but I used to do this at least 5 days a week at one time with swimming thrown in too. It's physically possible, I just need to sort my head out. We'll see!

Walking is a very good exercise if you're a bit bigger, I would love to have a treadmill at home. Start off slowly and build up. If you find your shins hurt it can help to put the treadmill on a slight incline, literally the first setting. For fat burning it's best to do longer rather than harder, plodding along but being able to keep going.

Oops!! :giggle:That might be fun to watch tho, lol :D

It's been delivered today :D needs assembling but have been told its very simple (let's hope) so hoping to get on it tonight!
Thank you for the tip if my shins start hurting.. I don't plan to run (we live on a 2nd flop flat so with my weight I'll be crashing my way to the flat underneath! Haha so walking is what I'm going to be doing and lots of it hopefully :)
You are very active! Don't let that slip- you will feel so much better once you start eating properly again! Let's do this Sarah!!! X

My baby girl cut all her hair off this morning. Nice. Obviously her big sister left a scissors in the bedroom somewhere and she got her hands on it. It looks awful. She cut most of the top of it off, and all one side of her head is cut close enough it looks shaved. :(

Oh Mandy- is she okay? How old is she? Would she look ok with it shaved all off?

Hey darling- you've up your water and that's fantastic. Don't knock yourself down.

And it's so lively to hear about the exercise. Let's lose lots of weight before the tennis starts ago your stamina is really good! X

porridge pancakes? they sound yummy! please share! is it a recipe from slimmingeats? i seem to remember seeing one but never tried it out...

Also! I notice a lot of us use iphone and ipads here - anyone tried out the app called fleetly? I've been using it for about a week now to log my swimming & workouts, and it's a really good little app - we can add friends to it too, like on myfitnesspal. Anyone interested, my username there is Fatty Von Chocolate :)

The night before, make magic porridge with your oats allowance and mix with a muller light (any flavour!) Leave to soak overnight.
In the morning, add 3 eggs and beat well until you get a smooth consistency..then just drop them in a frying pan with frylight..voila! I place a cookie cutter in so you get that small round shape :)

I lost 1.5lbs since i last posted in here i think, bringing me to 14st 7. Total loss of 1 stone 11lbs. Soo near that 2 stone..I want it bad!!
Had a pre-packaged shop bought cheese and onion sarnie for dinner today..blahhh..it was the only thing available :( Bootcamp tonight though and med veg soup for tea...trying to tell myself it will all balance itself out lol! x

Ooh I'll have to try those as a breakfast for hubby and me this weekend! Might even add a little syrup or honey (synned, of course!) and some bacon. Proper american style brekkie! Thanks for that :D

I'm sure everything will even itself out in the end. I hate it when you have no other option for lunch. Buying the sarnies from the shop is almost always my downfall... the amount of syns in them is pretty terrifying... :O

I always have mine with syrup and fruit..mmmm! :D

Those pancakes sound lovely! I wish I could make them but my dad always moans if I cook anything, not worth the hassle. They'd be lovely with a bit vanilla essence and then served with berries and canderel on top.

Back working afternoon and nights :( need the money tho.. breakfast was muller light with strawberries and alpen light. Lunch I slept through in preperation for tonight! But had pineapple and a werthers original 1.5 syns) . Dinner is a jumbo jacket filled with philly light and mountains of veg Yumm.

I have shopping to do tomorrow so ill have a bit more exciting food to eat! Green day today so ill have a slice of bread with honey (2.5 syns) before work and can have more cheese on my jacket.

Went for my 3.5k run this morning. Going to try and drink my 2 ltr of water too.

I'm aiming for another loss this week, 3.5lb from 4 stone award so want that achieved within 2 weeks if not by next week. I think varying from extra easy to green suits me occasional days particularly when I'm working. :)

Managed to go into greggs to get my son a cake and not get anything for myself!! Mini achievement.

I was asked in group yesterday what benefit I feel since loosing 3 stone 10.5lbs . I felt a bit emotional actually when I had to think about it. I actually feel alive. Like a 25 yo should.. I can walk, I can run, I can shop like a normal girl, I can work mad hours and cope with it, I am even able to get excited about looking at holiday brochures and swim suits.. alive.

Hey girlies,

I'm really sorry to be letting to side down but have been feeling like death warmed up since yesterday and am not up for weigh in at all. Think looking after the boys whilst they have been poorly has got me really run down. Doesn't help that I'm limited as to what I can take medication wise, am pretty much limited to paracetamol due to booby feeding. Only downside really lol

I am annoyed as have a really good week and am trying really hard as I just want to self medicate with crap... Might treat myself to some chocolate later.

Sorry again for being lame.

Btw, update on the boys, Dex has both his eyes infected and has got some drops from the Dr's which he hates but even the few times we managed to get in yesterday helped and his spots are well on the way out. Miles is showing very similar symptoms to those Dex did before the spots so it may not be long.

Hope all you other Weds weighers have great loses and well done to the ladies that have had great loses this week. Can't wait until illnesses leave the house so I can be back to being 100%. I HATE being ill, especially when the boys are ill.

Oh dear I have just eaten Chinese :(. What is wrong with me why can't I stick to anything :(

Ellen, you're not letting the side down, hun. You had a great week..have another and it will show next week x

Claire, we're all here because we can't control ourselves where food is concerned. We all have slip ups. I know I do. You just have to draw a line and move on and be better.

Here... I'll draw one for you __________________

I just had a massive dinner. I sooooo needed it. I spent an hour in the gym and a half hour in the steam room. Bliss. But when I got out at 6.30pm I was starving! So had a big plate of homemade burgers, SW chips and veggies. I am so full I need a nap haha Is it wrong to eat a big meal like that?
