The last stone mission......ROLL UP!!!!

OMG Ida, how horrible! And I thought my neighbours were weird! What sort of chocolates will you be making? How will you stop yourself tasting them and licking the bowl out? Your life sounds awfully busy, hope you get a long break over Christmas.

Joanne, not weighing every day is so hard, I associate it with trying to ignore the problem. Not that I have a problem any longer I suppose, but I feel it is waiting to catch me out. I'm sure your losses will start up again, you are looking at less than 2lbs a week to shift which would be a fair bit for me but you seem to lose easily.

I've been trying to get my purple top finished, just the armholes and hem to do now. And the necklace I'm making to go with it, it is nearly done but I haven't quite decided how I want to finish it. I could really do with some new black dance trousers so I will go shopping tomorrow or Friday, I want some full rise ones, none of this muffintop stuff for me.

Gosh Idaj - you mustn't blame yourself. I once did intervene with a fight between two neighbours and it caused a lot of problems for me afterwards, once they'd kissed and made up. I was the bad one! And the police and fire brigade came, and spent ages interviewing ME... oh and the firemen tried to leave their 3 month old baby with ME when they stretchered her off to hospital one night! I would definitely not get involved again (or so I say now!!).

I don't think I'd dare make chocolates this year... in fact, I've already forewarned my family that I'll not be baking at Christmas at all. Shop bought Christmas cake, mince pies, shortbread and cheese straws for them - then I won't be tempted to try them... (or so she says in advance;))

200g up today but won't let it get me down... My OH gained 100g Tuesday, 300g yesterday (and of course I jollied him along) and today he lost 900g! Here's hoping! As for me "losing easily", Claire, unfortunately the bit I lose easily by cutting carbs down/out is the bit I gain easily by reintroducing them... I'm now into the "last bit". I'm having a bit of a problem too with the lack of fibre in the diet, so am having to resort to pills, which I don't like to do!

I shall be interested to see photos of your outfits Claire - with you in them of course! I'm a useless seamstress. Hems are about my limit. Another vote for full rise trousers here too!

I can imagine your horror at being asked to look after a baby, I'm just the same. Nasty sticky things, give me a puppy or kitten any day. I wonder if the fibre thing and weight gain are related, I'm sure both will sort themselves out in time. Did you get the book? Maybe that has some advice. I know the CDers recommend Psyllium husks, I've not tried them due to scary effects from that sort of thing in the past.

I dropped down again today, seem to be bouncing around the goal weight for now so I'll just play along and see how things settle. I am being rather naughty with carbs, the cold weather makes me want comfort food, so far there have been no bad results though. I'm going to try and get a few pictures of me in costume, my top half looks OK but I wish I could get the fat off my thighs. Maybe I need to wear constricting tights under my trousers!

good morning slimmers! ;)

Re Christmas - I love it, but this year I'm a bit "meh" because I'm so busy (exams are usually after christmas, I have 2 before, then one after). Was trying to buy chocolate moulds last night (needed hearts), was everywhere I could think of when I stumbled into the MECCA of cake/chocolate/sweet making randomly. Made nougat hearts yesterday and will do strawberry fondant tops when I get home at 8pm.

Weight has finally started to go down again, 55,3kg this morning, thats 0.6lb from my original goal. Almost there!

Have a fabbo day all,

Love Ida

PS I like high rise trousers too, if they're well cut.. but all too often (coz I'm a dwarf) I end up with them stopping where my bra starts! Hehe. So I usually wear low cut trousers that arent so low cut on me, if you catch my drift :)

Morning all and TGIF!

I went to a chemist and bought pills he recommended (to have "gentle" results), so they've been fine, but I don't like having to rely on that sort of thing too often. Yes I got the book and he recommends paraffin oil, and he even warns about the potential issues, so I won't go there... (yet).

Those 200g have gone again today so although I've only lost 100g after 4 days of pure protein eating, it is actually 500g since last Friday, so I'll have some of that.

Idaj - I don't know how you can bear to make such delicious sounding sweet things without licking your fingers! Last night, when preparing today's salad (joy of joys, I get some salad today - not much mind you!), I had to stop myself popping the end piece of the celery in my mouth (cos yesterday just protein allowed!). ho ho!

Tash - where are you? How is it going?

Have a good weekend all. I'm staying in the City this weekend, last one before Christmas that I do, and will be having my highlights done (ugh at 3.5 hours stuck in a hairdresser's tomorrow morning!!). It wasn't so bad when I used to smoke, as I'd go out the back wit the staff (often) for a puff... now, I just get stiff and bored!

Hi, Friday at last, and I have a free evening - hooray. I finished my top and it looks OK, still have a bit to do to the necklace but the overall effect is pretty good (if you ignore the thighs). My other dancing top is a slight problem, I don't have a suitable bra to wear with it and can't think of a style which would work. So I'm working on an adaptation which may or may not do the trick.

Weight still yoyoing around target, I'm not bothered at the moment because I need to get through next week before life settles down, show weeks can often cause big losses - nerves, exercise and lack of time to eat all play a part.

Ida, those sweets sound delicious. I tried making nougat once (montelimar type - is that what you mean?) and got into a very sticky mess. I'm the opposite way round on trousers, despite not being particularly tall I am long bodied so trousers don't come up high anyway. Maybe I should be buying ones for tall people and cutting a foot off the bottom.

Joanne, the thought of paraffin oil would scare me too, the gentle methods must be better. I hate having my hair done, it always seems such a waste of time. Will you be doing Christmas shopping too? I need to concentrate on mine, I just haven't got my mind round to it.

Have a great weekend everyone.

They do advise using the paraffin oil as your oil in vinaigrette, but the thought of it scares me to death! I'd not dare leave the house!

Christmas shopping? What Christmas shopping? It's done!! (For me, there's only one time to do Christmas shopping - any time but DECEMBER!!) :)

You put me to shame, I keep hoping that Christmas won't happen this year but I've never been lucky yet. It ought to be like the Olympics, every four years, then it would be worth a bit of effort. Bah humbug and all that.

I must admit I found the idea of paraffin oil as an ingredient rather unpleasant, but we can't buy it here so I'm not worried. I've got so used to balsamic vinegar on salad that I actually like it now so don't want to go back to oils and mayos, not for leaf salads anyway.

Good morning all

Just popping in then I'm off to uni again (*sigh* can't wait until exams are over and done with). I'm a bit of a hippy so I don't buy christmas presents, I make them. I don't buy into the commercialisation of christmas. This year it's going to be homemade chocolates for everyone plus a photo of me (for my family) or a little something or other for everyone else.
We give the ferret paraffin oil to prevent furballs now he's not getting mice (the fur helps the digestive tract). Perhaps mice are an alternative worth taking note of if you're worried about getting furballs yourself? :)

Weight is down to 55.1kg (sooo close) so should soon be there. Hope you all have a fantabulous weekend.

Lots of love,
Ida xxx

Hello, a bright and sunny day here which is cheering. I have to do housework as my SIL will be visiting tomorrow, and cooking since she will need to be fed - not that we wouldn't be eating anyway but you know how it is. DH is off to some boat measuring thing (typical) and tonight we are going to a quiz night with all my family. Tomorrow morning is the dress rehearsal for the dancing show, I'll try to get some pics of me in costume.

Ida, are you going to show us the photo of you? Or are you waiting for that last.1kilo to go? How many more years of studying do you have?

Boat measuring? Is that what it sounds like?!?! I'm looking forward to the pics of you in your show claire, I bet you look fab.

Pic won't be forthcoming just yet - my boyfriend is an amateur (or however you spell it) photographer, so I have to convince him to take a pic first! Hehe.

Have been studying (genetics) today - am about to get started with chocolate making. Marbled mints, coffee creams and ferret poos (chocolate disc with nougat on top! Couldn't think of a better name hehe). Have also bought bfs advent present, which is 3 sharon fruits (he's getting a new unusual fruit/veg each week- as I said, I'm a bit of a hippy, he's rich and has everything he could want, but is a real gourmet). They are now beautifully wrapped up in cellofane with purple ribbon, and I'll make a gift tag later. Then I'll leave a note tomorrow morning mentioning that I saw father christmas, and he was fumbling around in the drawers in the kitchen (the kitchen is one place I know bf'll NEVER go!)

Have rambled quite enough now I think

Lots of love
Ida

Good morning girlies.

Hope you're all very well. Hopped up on the scale today and it said 54.7kg, so I have reached my first goal. Am slightly disappointed that it didn't activate a balloon drop or at least streamers - what is the world coming to?

Will plod along now, losing until I reach my elusive target waist size (under an inch to go).Have no idea what weight that'll be, so I'll just have to keep on going (I hate not knowing!) until I'm happy. I don't want to get boney, so if I can't reach my goal without being boney, I'll have to reevaluate. But I think 10lbs can make a huge difference on waist size.

Will wander off to school in a bit, biophysics today, ugh :)

Have a great day all
Lots of love
Ida xxx

Oh God - what wouldnt I give for someone to comment on me looking boney - or 'gosh arnt you looking thin '

People always say to me - dont you look well - and - you never get sick you must have a strong constitution - meaning 'what a well padded strapping lass'!!!!!!!:D

I jest of course .

Am a bit fed up with myself - went up to 11/10 in the week - back to 11/8 now but just not getting anywhere. Feel a bit of a fraud on this thread cos have more than a stone to go.

You all are doing SO WELL!!!!!! Well done all - you skinny mini's!!!!

Sorry you had a hard time with your neighbours Idaj :( And sorry to hear about your DH's Aunt Claire.

Parafin Oil  Joanne - keep away from naked flames!!!

Cant wait to see pics of you all - you see my ugly mug on my posts - I want to see your lovely cheek-boney faces!!!!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Tasha

Hi everyone
Just a very quick fly past from me. I had three hours of dance rehearsal this morning, all the costumes stood up to it OK despite some comments on how huge my boobs look in the silver top (it's an optical illusion, my ribcage is too small!). No photos yet I'm afraid, not enough time, we'll manage some during the week. Now I am doing tidying and cooking before guests arrive about 5.00. I'm ignoring the scales until this show is out of the way as meals are going to be grabbed on the go for the next week.

Ida, congratulations, I'm doing a happy dance for you :party0011: There wasn't a fanfare when I reached goal either. If you are going to lose more just try not to do it too fast, give things time to settle a bit. I'm sure your waist will get slimmer, especially if you belt it in a bit, nothing like some corseting to encourage the fat to move. Did you bf enjoy the sharon fruit?

Tasha, are you dieting now or will you restart after Christmas? We were all in the same position asyou when we started, it has taken me more months than I care to count to get this far.

Joanne, hope you had a good weekend and the hair colour went well.

I must go and do something more useful. Bye for now.

Morning all, and what a lovely lot of chatty messages to read this morning!

Idaj - CONGRATULATIONS on getting to that elusive first target. I actually think that in making your own Christmas gifts, you put far more effort and attention into those gifts than those of us who simply buy stuff do. I do worse than that even, and my sister and I pledge money to each other, get our own, and give the gift to the other for wrapping before the day! One way to ensure that whatever fits! I'd love to see a photo of you (and taste a chocolate!!!)

After a week of stagnation on the diet, some weight shifted and I was absolutely thrilled to sneak into some size 40 trousers this morning... haven't a clue how that works in "English" sizings (but some of my UK size 12s are tight, some fine, some loose so it's all a mystery to me!).

Am still enjoying the food - Galette with smoked salmon and ham for breakfast. Fresh crab, prawns, grey shrimp for lunch yesterday; salmon and more prawns last night. What's not to like?! In fact, in all my years of dieting, I've never eaten so well...

Claire - if you're still making the odd galette for yourself, yesterday's mix was fabulous (the two x sons, 2 spspns fromage blanc*, whole egg, chopped up smoked salmon and ham). Delicious!!!
* note double quantity of fromage blanc makes it squidgier... what do you use instead of fb? My sister is going to start the diet after Christmas and I don't think you can buy fb in England?

Tash - I messed around for ages... as you know... (If I'm honest, a little voice tells me that I might be back in the same boat after the holidays!!). I'm going to try hard though!

Hi all

Tashy sweetie: hang on in there :) You'll get there, weightloss is always two steps forward, one step back.

Claire: You and your boob enhancing tophehe :) I bet you look amazing up on the stage dancing away. Sounds like you're awfully busy though!

Maintainer: Christmas is what you want it to be. I think your idea sounds very reasonable, that way no-one gets stuff they don't want. Size 40 is size 12-14 waist, size 12 hips/bust. I used to work in a clothes shop, where the clothes came from england, so I'm used to doing the conversions :)

Thanks for all your congratulations. Sometime next week, I'll be going into the boys work and handing out homemade chocolates. In an elf outfit, which I look very sexy in, if I say so myself :) It's a red (figurhugging) shift dress, with a silver belt, thick black stockings, my knee high boots, and then my hair in plaits with a santa hat on. He works in the police, so I will be looking forward to handing elf chocolates out, and mentioning I have been a bad bad little elf to the policemen with handcuffs *giggles*. Else we're going to IKEA today, and I need to study and maybe I'll pop out and buy a new coat :)

Have a great day all
Lots of love
Ida xxxx

Idaj - I don't know whether you've been to England recently but they've changed all the clothes sizes since I last lived there... size 14 is "HUGE" compared to how it used to be! Then, of course, you get all the differences between the shops...

Size 10 or 12? EU may soon silence the debate - Times Online

Gosh maintainer, how annoying.

Have been in IKEA today, and now am making chocolates. My bf works in the department of the national police that has to do with pictures of people doing unsavoury things with children (I don't want to type out the words CP). Recently, there was a story in the media about a guy involved with this nasty stuff who got caught - he'd posted some pictures of himself with his face masked by a swirl, the internet dubbed him swirlman. So what better chocolates to make his collegues than "swirlman mints" - green and dark chocolate swirls filled with mint fondant :) Hehe.

Lots of love
Ida xx

Tashy sweetie: hang on in there :) You'll get there, weightloss is always two steps forward, one step back.
Thankyou - I know - its just that I sometimes expect results with minimum of effort - I want to be lighter - just need to make the effort - its so RUDE:eek: that it doesnt just drop off!!!!

Hehehehe:rotflmao::rotflmao::rotflmao: - laughed so much at this one - what a brilliant idea - and what confidence!!!! You go girl!!!!!

This is the first chance I've had to get on here today, it's been a long and busy day. The morning was given over to feeding and entertaining visitors, then on to the funeral - we were nearly late because we got stuck behind another cortege which held us up for 15 minutes. So many people told me they could hear me singing that I felt rather embarrassed, years of shows have given me a powerful larynx and I forget how loud I can get. Then came the social bit with DH's millions of relatives, and we finally got home just in time for me to shower and dash off to the show. It went a lot better tonight (phew) with no major disasters so I can be a bit more relaxed for the rest of the run.

Joanne, yay for getting into the trousers, I'm still searching for some new ones which fit properly so being able to wear "old stock" is a godsend. For the galette I use fromage frais instead of fromage blanc but drain it a bit through muslin (well j-cloth if I'm honest), I'll have to give your variation a try. Clothes sizes are a nightmare, I try to remember to take a tape measure and just measure the actual size of anything which interests me.

Ida, I'm trying to picture you in elf mode, we really must have a photo of this one unless it contravenes any decency laws! Not that I can talk after the silver top.

Tasha, sooner or later you'll just feel like not eating much and the weight will start to go, getting your head in the right place first is so important.
