TOUGH LOVE-APPLY WITHIN

Hi Peeps - and Top of The Morning To Ya, Rod! - just skim read the last 3 pages as at work. You lot are on fire this morning! Well done Sparty on your meal and Smileyman on getting through last night without resorting to drinking and binge nibbling!

I see there's some talk about target/goal weight. I initially set mine at 11 stone which was 5.5 stone off my original weight. I honestly didn't think I would get to that so when I did I adjusted it to 10 stone which takes me under the BMI of 25. My plan when I get to 10 stone is to go into a buffer zone where I take off a few more pounds but can let my weight fluctuate a little as I go into maintenance mode but 10 stone will always be my ceiling from now on.

I appreciate that will still make me on the heavier side for my height but with my weights I aim to keep toning up and as a curvey girl (big knockers) I would look ridiculous much lighter. Basically think Dolly Parton but slightly younger and less trashy looking (just a little :))!

I think your goal/target weight is personal to you and only you know what you are truly comfortable with.

total planning and payoff right there

I like to read most things twice to make sure I digested the content right and Sue's got a great deal for life there

thanks for sharing

post of the week sister

welcome back

Thanks boss! That's how we roll in Ireland!! Good luck in ur comp...and hope the food end of things is straightforward enough with the hotel.

Jezzi...I do think ur right to have a think about things..and for the record, I think goal dates for smaller losses are the way to go. We move towards what we see for ourselves. Goals are dreams with deadlines. It's understandable that this frightens the life out of u...but start small, and maybe consider practicing setting small goals...and see how that goes for u? You are doing great by the way. Don't let that get lost in all this too. And don't be too quiet..tl would miss u!

Cheers Rod and I just noticed your stats - 4 STONE OFF! Well done - that's brilliant and what a milestone. :worthy:

Might be one we have to agree to disagree on. Not everyone's brain works like yours rod.

My goals - put one foot in front of the other each day. Stay on plan. Dont binge. Be mindful of my next mini milestone. Keep going. Don't get obsessed with either eating, binging or starving. Keep coming to the TL group for accountability.

I am happy for you to disagree, I thrive on disagreement

you have stuff going on that I am not qualified to comment on and whilst my every instinct is screaming at me to post what I want to, I won't.

Your goals are admirable and I have no problem with anyone making their own rules up, it's your life and I will not judge it

I march to no feckers tune and I would want nothing more than for you all to run free, unfettered by weigh-ins, estrogen, slimming clubs, image hang-ups and the monotony of chasing the goal

Hoever we all have certain frameworks to stay within and I stand unrepentant that rule no.1 is have a goal date. I just don't see the problem

Patch's post was spot on - one bite at a time

Personally I'd like to eat my elephant at a single sitting and god know's I've tried in the past, with a side serving of a barrel of beer

we all have issues of some sort or another, big or small, they all come to the fore once in while and I personally like thought provoking stuff on the thread, we can all learn, inspire and understand from each other

Jezzi, many times I've been impressed with your insight and sense, don't be a stranger and don't let ME tell you how you are gonna do it. You tell US

because just like it says on my sig, the problem is not the problem. The problem is one's attitude to the problem

I look forward to hearing you ring the bell on mar 1, whatever success it will be, it will be successful!

Great inspiring post from Sasser, a loss on holiday, just can't knock that can you?

I am still aiming at 15-7 for Aug 16 (two weeks in Zante) so no time like the present to keep on keeping on eh?

compromise, havae a healthy brekkie and lunch then have one plate of whatever you want on the night, or if you want loads of drinks, eat as healthy as possible through the day...try not to have an all or nothing mentality. your on holiday and are there to ennjoy yourself, and whilst i am certainly not telling you to fall face first into the deep fat fryer eating as you go, you are allowed to enjoy yourself, do extra exercise, like add 30 minutes swimming to your daily routine, then an hours walk in the day instead of just laying about, try not to get too hung up on the scales that you dont enjoy your time away, but it is possible to go away and not gain, its just about making choices and cutting out other things to compensate. you can do this...you know the score ;)

Reporting here for some servings of tough love! About to change SW group and go in with an entire new start after falling totally off the wagon. No tough love required today - trust me, I have already yelled at myself in the mirror for screwing everything up.

I will however, likely need some tough love in the next year - so let's get going! :)

did you check out the hotel I showed you Lou? The menu is droolsome but I will make sure my breakfast and lunch is syn free/low syn. And I can swim a lot as its a spar hotel - gonna pack my running shoes too as its by the beach!

welcome to tough love - we also have a chit-chat thread (fondly called 'the lounge') that you may want to sign up to as well.

Have you worked out what went wrong and why you fell off the wagon?

Hi sparty - yes, I know exactly what happened. I lost all control and was weak. I wrongly focused on the short-term pleasures of eating what I wanted, when I wanted, and lost all sight of my long term goal. Absolutely no excuses - there it is, the truth in its ugliest form.

True that, and it is good practice for when you get to target. That is how I am looking at my hols in September. I will do my best to have fun and sts - which should be the motto for life once I am at target.

Ooh no I must have missed it. I'll have a look when I can get on lappy later. Love a bit of food porn. Sounds like an excellent plan. Where are u going? This country or abroad?

Look Sereneala - it's over. Provided that your true, honest intention is to go for it, draw a line and move on the TL way from now on. But know this - on this thread, the line only gets drawn once, and that is to put all of your failed attempts behind you. So long as you accept that you are just going to have to suck it up and get on with it from now on, even when it gets hard, you will get on just fine. But we don't like no quitters round here bringing down the TL effort. Got that?

Then welcome:)

Peace and love

Bonnie

you got everything right apart from the discipline, you have a goal date and honesty, so thats at least most of the war

now it's just a series of little battles

you lost the first one, no shame in that - more to the point I didn't see no bullsh!t about why

wot no internet down and rain and 1000 others pieces of flotsam that get flung about like so much supposed truth?

hands up, plain and simple, I fell off

so climb back on and do your job

the ladies and Smiley the Science will look after you admirably here and down in the cuckoo town chat thread, I am off fishing cos like loreal, I'm worth it

But I will be back tuesday, this ain't no brief encounter sister, this is the long haul and the wrath is coming should you deserve it

Nice try, but that's all a bit vague and woolly for my liking. Why not try making a list of the bad habits you used to be in, then tell us which one's you're going to cut out first? That way we can hold you properly to account, and you might be able to make proper progress if you change a bit at a time, rather than trying to change everything at once until the inevitable blowout pushes you back to where you started from.
