Have you tried the 1/2 syn roulade?

4 eggs separated - free
1 Tub of Quark - free
6 Tbs Sweetener - free
Vanilla Essence - free
1 Tsp Baking Powder – ½ syn

Mix 4 yolks mixed with 1/2 tub of quark, 5 tablespoons of sweetener 1 teaspoon of baking powder and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

Whisk your four egg whites till just before meringue stiffness then mix in half and then carefully fold in the last half separate into two tins (for cake) swiss roll tin (for roulade) lined with greaseproof paper and sprayed with frylight and cook for 15-20 mins on 180•

For the filling:- the last 1/2 tub of quark drop of vanilla, sweetner or to taste and chopped strawberries/berries!

Am working for 6 days in a row now so can't try the turkish delight... I'll be trying that next weekend :)

Hi, I've just tried this but made the mistake of putting it in one tray not two!
What is the consistency supposed to be like?

Mine goes in one tray. It's quite thick and foamy when in it's raw form.

When it is cooked it's pretty similar to a Swiss roll- just lighter and paler.

Be careful when lifting from the baking paper.

Sorry I got confused as it's in the Turkish Delight thread. ;)

Is this syn free then apart from the icing sugar

Yes - its only essence, sweetener , water & gelatine . Add more gelatine / less water if you prefer a more jelly cube texture

is rose water the same as rose essence? x

I don't know - it might be a lot weaker as essence is quite strong like other essences

Langdale Rose Water Flavouring Essence 150ml | eBay UK

found this on ebay it says rose water flavouring essence and is 150 ml bottle. there is rose essence also but bottles are only 28ml you would need 3 bottles for the recipe - work out expensive to make. x

That's the one I have
