urine sample question

I'm taking my 3 yr old to the drs tomorrow to test him for diabetis. I was going to collect a urine sample but not sure if this is how the Dr checks.

My sister said to take the sample first thing in morning before he eats. Dr appt is at 11am but I'd have to do sample at 7am, will the sample last that long or should I just do one a bit later?

What are your thoughts?

Hi There.
I am a T2 diabetic so I have to take urine samples for my check up's, you need to take the 1st passing of the day! It keeps ok in the sample tubes that you get from the surgery.

I was going to say if you're taking the sample yourself it would need to go in a sterilised container otherwise the docs won't even test it.
