Just a random question ... Would it matter if an engagement ring was not diamond? Just a question I have been having with a friend recently.

I think engagement rings are a very individual thing & no one should feel compelled to conform to the 'norm'

Mine looks nothing like a normal engagement ring!

Mine isn't a diamond. It's not even a precious stone.
