What do we all do for a living?

The important thing nowadays is having a job, not what it is !!

Assistant Catering Manager sounds good to me if not hard.

Haha!! I love it! I'm a total insomniac!! You wait til you've been working shifts for 14 years Allie!! You'll be a part of the 'walking zombie club' too!!X

I know this is an old post but I'm definitely in the "walking zombie club" too.. Have been doing shift work for nearly 15 years and I seem never to be able to sleep!

I'm a Load Controller for an airline managing the weight & balance of aircraft, making sure it's legal and can actually take off!

Well I'm a waitress. I'm around food A LOT. So if y'all think u have it hard...take a walk in my (very sensible) shoes. You'll get more than a sore back and feet! Lol. I'm also an office coordinator for a RE/MAX real estate agency. That's code for scapegoat, cleaning lady and general sounding board! I do like both of my jobs. But its hard being kicked around all the time. Rude customers are the worst. I don't wait on you for 3 hours for a lousy $4 tip. BE GOOD TO YOUR WAITRESSES! Especially the good ones. We smile when we want to punch u in the face. We're polite when ur rude and demanding. And we come to work with the same problems and drama that u do. But we have to leave it at the door. Please do the same. RANT OVER!

But seriously, the job can be very enjoyable and rewarding. And some customers rock. And obviously they make our nights worthwhile. It obviously goes both ways. There are some terrible waitresses out there! They don't last long in the industry though! I'm not sure how it is in the UK but I make $3 an hour. Or about 1.6 pounds! I depend on tips to make my living. And fruit and veg are pricy this winter! Help a sister out! Lol

I'm a portrait artist, illustrator and jewellery maker. Work from home at the mo and sell online. I also help out with my BF's business when needs must, so I kinda juggle. Am hoping to continue with my arty bits when I lose weight but also get a "proper" job. Although the jewellery does quite well I could do with a decent wage coming in too so I can contribute a bit more.

I'm a lecturer at a uni in London. I teach forensic chemistry, biochemistry and microbiology.

I love my job! :D

I'm a specialist teacher for children with cognition and learning difficulties. It's the best job in the world because I get to work with the most special kids!!

i am a parent support adviser in a large primary school. Dealing with parents concerns over their own or their childrens issues - behaviour, routine, relationships problems, finance, housing...anything really. Also going to start on OU counselling course after Easter. I LOVE my job.

I'm the day controller for all the non emergency ambulances going in and out of our local general hospital and other units.
I do enjoy it, but times are hard atm as we desperately need new vehicles and staff, but the current budget won't support this.

I'm a manager of a small gift shop love my job as work with some great people (when they've not got face on lol )
