what jobs do we all do

Im an electrical engineer, basically what i do is, sit in a workshop doing home jobs for myself and attending breakdowns in a factory trying to repair broken machinery as quickly as possible. bit boring at times but the pay and holidays are worth it.

I'm a scum-of-the-earth, bottom-feeding, ambulance-chasing, robbing/theiving/b@stard solicitor. Although today I sent damages cheque to a client, so today I'm one of the good sort of solicitors. Tomorrow, depending on the client du jour, that position may change...

Believe it or not, I don't actually like 99% of lawyers, either.

p.s. Forensic science, while an interesting academic discipline, (wrote my Masters on the uses of, abuses of, and how no-one understands the proper relevance of DNA evidence) it's not nearly as exciting as it is on't telly. ;)

I work for a Coroner. It's fascinating.:)

And completely agree - post mortems are nothing like they are on CSI!

This is so interesting. I think the worst must be working in a supermarket - I couldn't stand it. Breaaaaaaaad!

Got a mate who was a Coroner's Officer on secondment, for a bit - she's in the process of reapplying for a permanent post.

I want to be a Coroner when I grow up, me.

(And CSI is wrong. All wrong, I tell you!)

ok not sure if i should admit but here goes ;)

Great ambition - definitely go for it.:)

I'd love to be a Coroner too, but I'd absolutely suck at being a solicitor (which you have to be first) so no go!

I work with adults with learning difficulties, love it!!!

Hmmm, I feel a theory coming on about people who work in "care" not attending to their own needs... nurses, social workers, support workers...(I mean, Miss Demeanour, even solicitors care for others LOL)

Sam just wanted to send you some hugs.:heartpump:

Well, I used to be a nurse many moons ago and the urge to heal never leaves.

I agree those in the caring professions whether paid or voluntary, I have found do tend to neglect their own needs, not really intentionally but because their focus is always fixed on the wellbeing of others.

At present I now work for an insurance brokers who specialise in arranging personal protection products, but it is not what I would prefer to do, I do not enjoy it one bit but having a couple of redundancies in the past 8 years and being of a certain age, I have to grab what I can to pay my way

Love Myr xxx

I am a child protection social worker too - though I manage others now.

Specialist Drug & Alcohol counsellor for young people up to the age of 18. Social Work background. Love my job as young people are just amazing and survive so much !:D

OMG you all have such AMAZING jobs, I was expecting replies of 'I work in an office'!!!
Well I work for a finance company (not a bank & we didn't cause the recession I promise!) I run the Legal team which is where the people who don't pay end up, its very varied and even though I basically chase people for money I do enjoy it, its very varied and no day is ever the same!

errr, ok, I am a managing director of a social housing company.
So, sliding sideways a bit, a lot of us work with displaced and needy groups then?
I can feel a little research coming on me. How many of us went to Uni?
