why do I bake when I am ss?

It happened last time. This weekend I have made blackberry and apple muffins, chocolate and honeycomb muffins and 2L of fresh strawberry ice cream. I couldnt even have a taste....
However I did taste the ice-cream, but as the strawberries have to soak in fresh lemon juice, this probably wasnt a good option! It was just a taste though, and not a portion! Consequently I have tested every pee I have passed today, and so far the stick is still pink! lol!
Why do I do this?? Bake and cook for everyone but me?

I do the same,over Xmas a dit soo many cakes and no even one touch my lips.I have to say that I enjoy baking and the fact that other people are the ones to tell me how it taste is quite comforting,whenthey like it.Even whenI cook for the children I do more stuff this days that maybe before.I made a courgette cake yesterday,YES COURGETTE!!!and it has fly of the plate.Something to give some more veggies to the girls.

Lol...ive started cooking all sorts of exotic dishes for my OH and dont even taste them..oh well..hopefully will enjoy them in a few months time!!

I do it too , its like baking is involving yourself in food , you cant eat it so you want to watch others enjoy your creations ... i also find myself far more tempted to buy cakes and treats for the kids and love watching them enjoy it !!

Dunno - but I do exactly the same - At Christmas someone on here called it food porn which made me laugh!!

i'm the same. food in my mind is like an addiction. so i think we bake as we are answering our addiction in some way even though you can't eat it.

I do the same! Hubby is happy though, I bought a new recipe book and am going through it, loving cooking and watching him eat!

I do this too!! It's weird how I have an urge to bake all the time, luckily my enthusiasm isn't strong enough once I start looking in the recipe books but just looking at all the pictures makes me think that I would probably end up eating them all myself!! lol but my OH is really into Masterchef on BBC 1 at the moment so he's cooking up some amazing dishes and I'm just sat there with my shake trying to ignore him…he just talks about cooking non-stop!!
