I've noticed a few times during chat on the official Dukan site that whenever alcohol is mentioned the advice given is to have one glass of red wine with your celebration meal, why is this? Why does it have to be red wine, surely vodka would be better as it has no carbs and less calories

Red wine is a healthier wine because of the anti oxidants and heart benefits. I cannot drink though as I get a migraine from an oz or two :-( That would be my assumption. I intend to have a glass of white wine with my first gala meal.

I was also thinking along the lines of a glass of white or rose wine with my first gala meal, I really don't like red wine but was wondering why red is recommended

You're like me, planning ahead to consolidation :) Have you decided on your first gala meal? Mine is next Sunday 17th and we are going for a picnic and games. So that meal I get to do my gala as it would be pretty miserable being the only one saying no. I do intend to cook up my favourite things and bake my favourite cake though.

my first gala is the Sunday after yours Poppy, the 25th, providing the weather is nice I think I'm gonna go to the coast and have fish & chips (without the chips). Just can't beat fish & chips in the sea air walking along the promenade:D I'll save my glass of wine for the evening

I've often thought about what I would have as a gala meal and when I first started I had planned an Indian or a dominos pizza! Mmm! However, after my 12 weeks on cruise I have decided that I will cook chilli con carne. I make a good chilli but sadly my recipe is not dukan friendly. And for a second one... it will be a Sunday roast with all the trimmings.

Home made meals! Yummy!

Sorry just totally crashed this thread haha x

Lol, all this talk of food, very very bad. For my picnic gala meal I wonder if I could sneak a chocolate or two into the meal. I could have it as a starter:rolleyes: The following gala meal will probably be in London as I am going shopping with the oldest daughter. What a treat, new clothes and a nice meal out.
