Saute carrots, garlic and cel in a deep pan, add veg stock and lentils. Boil until soft and blend. I keep it nice and thick :)

No, you don't have to soak red lentils at all.

That sounds a really nice and easy soup and I will definitely be trying it. I am going to sneak some freshly chopped ginger in there too, because I just love it and I think it will go well with the lentils.

Sounds like something I make but without the celery and add curry powder to taste, I love soup when getting in from work, leave it in the slow cooker so it nice and ready to eat as soon as I get home from an evening shift :) going to go and get the ingredients from Asda now ready for tonight mmmmmmmmm

I make something very similar, but I add chopped up smokey bacon (cut fat off) and substitute leek for celery (don't really like it). Am I right in thinking that most of this is syn free on EE?
