1st week: weight loss - zero!!! :(

Joined SW on line and followed it to the book!!! 5 days in and thought i'd have a cheeky peek on the scales as i know 1st weeks weight loss can be dramatic. Have been thinking something along the lines of 5-7lbs...stepped on scales and i've actually gained a 1lb!!!! Not happy and feel like throwing in the towel :(

Any ideas why...my period is due but its never stopped my losing on other diets?

It could just be that your body will take time to adjust and your massive loss will come next week... This is why sneaky peeking is not advised!!

Don't give up yet, it's only week 1!

Like Tilly said if you could post what your eating on here, we'll have a look. It might be like you said that your due on, are you drinking enough fluids? Please don't give up, this is a truely amazing way of eating Boo xx

B: egg on toast (wholemeal healthy extra)

Snack: muller light and fruit (banana/strawberry)

L: pasta salad with pickled egg, prawn, cheese (he), tomato, hellmans fat free dressing (2 syns)

D: chicken and prawn chow mein - egg noodles, onion, peppers, mushrooms, curry powder, chilli powder, soya sauce.

This is a typical day for me. Am i doing anything wrong?

It looks good to me, are you having 1/3 super free food with your meals? I think maybe because you are due on, that might be the reason. All I can say is carry on, it does work Boo xx

Hi mrs b. Looks good, give it more time. Also use your syns, I don't lose more weight if I don't, in fact I lose more when I do!

Drink loads of water and eat lots of ss fruit like melon, grapefruit and strawberries. Stick with it, it does work

Definately use your syns. I used to think I was being 'good' not needing them but actually they seriously are an integral part of the plan.

Drink plenty of water and do you like melon? I find the watery fruits help too. Says she who loses weight slowly.

Don't be disheartened the plan does work :)

Thanks guys and gals...i will stick with it. Just annoying when been so good!!!

I will eat my syns then...:)

What is this 1/3 bit all about? I don't understand? I thought you just ate the free foods, had your he's and 5-15 syns? Have i missed a vital part of the diet?

Just trying to get to grips with it all at the mo and feel a bit overwhelmed by all the different recipes to try. Am really having to plan ahead what i am eating/making etc and not used to it. I am a grab n go girl normally which prob explains my size lol!!

I will continue and fingers crossed this lard will budge. Am off on holiday in 4-5 weeks time and need to fit into my clothes eek!!!

Hi thanks for posting the thread...SW don't really make it clear about the 1/3 part. I thought super free foods were all things on the free list not just fruits n veggies!!

Perhaps that is where i have gone wrong combined with totm!!!

Back to the drawing board for me then...

Had a bad day...was fed up with no weight loss so had a bbq today and didn't count syns and drank copious amounts of wine and just had 2 crisp rolls :(

Weigh day tomorrow...at least if i do put on there will be a reason behind it now!!!

Start afresh tomorrow x

Try to measure your waist in inches. You may have not lost any pound for the week but you can check your waistline honey. Sometimes, our body wouldn't react immediately to our diet plan. Don't lose hope hun. Believe that you can do it. Besides, being on a healthy lifestyle doesn't only give us a fit body but of course a healthier and better one.

Not sure i have a tape measure big enough lol!!!

I had a bad day but need to draw a line under it and continue on plan. My on line food shop arrives tomorrow with lots of fresh fruit n veggies.
