Today is the first day of a new week for me and I'm still feeling positive and determined after another good loss last night. I have a night out to Durham on Saturday night, so I'm trying to keep my Syns as low as possible throughout the week, just so I am covered on Saturday. At the moment I'm planning to go "dry" and not have a drink, but I know that might change once I get out and see all of the others having a drink. We'll see - at least if I save my Syns I know I will be okay if I change my mind last minute! Going to take lots of yummy SW food round to my boyfriends this weekend as well so that if I do happen to feel a bit ropey on Sunday, I can have something that will pull me round but still be totally on plan. We're having a chill out night on Friday (ahead of Saturdays antics!) and I'm taking us stuff round to make burgers with. Yum!

Does anyone else have anything coming up this week which could be a danger area? If so, how are you planning on staying in control? xx

Ooh Stevie I know what you mean about planning on a sober night out then getting there and changing your mind! I always feel deprived if everyone else around me is having a drink and I'm not, although it's good the next day having no hangover :D Is the night out for a special occasion?

I have been declining invites out over the last month but I do have a Casino night out at the end of February so will be saving my syns for that night. I usually drink wine but think I'll maybe have g&t's (slimline tonic) as they are much lower in syns!
 
Hi I haven't done very well at my last WI I put a 1lb on. But I have been a 100% on plan for the last few days so I am determined to stick with it and to get a loss on Monday. Good luck to everyone.

I know, I've done so well doing Dry January and I haven't missed alcohol at all. But I know it might be a lot more tempting when I'm out with a big group of people who are all drinking. I think there are about 16 of us going, it's for a friends birthday. It's also Derby day (Newcastle vs. Sunderland) that day, so it will be extremely busy! I ended up having a Syn free day yesterday, so there's an extra 15 Syns in the bag already for Saturday. It feels good to be organised and in control. And if I don't end up using these extra Syns for alcohol on Saturday, I can keep them for an extra nice treat on weigh night!

Great technique swapping from wine to spirits. Like you say, they are so much lower in Syns. I only ever drink vodka (2.5 Syns for 25ml) and diet coke when I am out, and may allow myself the odd bottle of Budweiser (6 Syns). Sounds like you will do fine! x

I weighed in first thing this morning instead of lunch time so although it shows a loss of 2lb, really I think it's a stay the same. I will stick to weighing first thing and it should show a true picture next week. Am sticking to plan so hopefully it will show a loss next week.

Well done Lindsey you're doing great so I am sure it would have been a loss anyway. 10lb total woo hoo! Very pleased for you. :)

What's everyone up to this weekend? I'm going to the cinema later on with a friend then we're going to Nando's afterwards. If my calculations are correct I can have butterfly chicken (3.5 syns), corn on the cob (no butter - free) and side salad (superfree), looking forward to it!

Hi Janey, what film did you see? Not done much today. Tescos and then into local town to sort out phone as contract ran out 4 months ago and not been bothered to do anything about it. Took 2 hours in t mobile shop but am now proud owner of a galaxy phone and cut the bill by £5 a month. Every little helps! Cooked a curry when got home and it turned out nice and only 6 syns for 4 portions. Stuffed after though! Both boys football cancelled tomorrow so not sure what we are going to do. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

We went to see Lone Survivor with Mark Wahlberg, it was quite a harrowing film (based on a true story), but it was very good. Not for those who just want a light hearted film!

I've had a dreadful weekend. I was off plan on Saturday night and drank far too much rubbish on my night out. Followed up by a takeaway on the way home and then the hangover munchies yesterday.

I have tried to draw a line under it and start afresh today, but I am still dreading weigh in tomorrow. I know I'll have set myself back - my scales are showing a gain of between 3-4lb. Grr, so annoyed with myself!!

At least you had a good night . How can you put on 3-4 pounds in one night? It's so unfair! Hopefully just water retention from the alcohol. Fingers crossed for you for tomorrow.

I'm sorry about your weight gain but hopfully you had a lovely night out! You have done really well so far, just think about how great you have been up to now, you seem determined to me so you will get there.:)
I lost 3.5lbs which is my first weight loss this year and I didn't expect to lose more than 1lb.
 
Morning Stevie, good luck for WI today, it might not be as bad as you think. Even if it is, you'll take it off next week I'm sure. Don't worry!
