Well I went pole dancing last night and doing my first spin really hurt my muscle in my arm... it is my left arm, and it is the muscle on the outside towards my bingo wings! it is really hurting and aching but also hurting when I turn my head to the right and tilt my head to the right, Can't lift anything, including my 2 year old....

I know it is probably just a pulled muscle but if anyone could help...?

I would say it sounds like a pulled muscle, although without seeing it, I really couldn't say for certain. Did you warm up properly before? If you are worried call NHSdirect 0845 4647

It was a teaser class, I had been to one the week before and was fine, and yeah we did full stretches everyone you could think of... I'll see how it goes, it is just I am on methotrexate so can't take any ibuprofen etc which is probably making it feel worse...

I wouldn't say hard, it is different, but it uses all your muscles, not like the gym where you targets specifics. The teaser class cost £20 for an hour & half, and then bronze course for £100 (6 weeks). You do have bruises and you do ache, but it is such fun and very very addictive, you will probably end up wanting a pole fitted at home!!

It sounds like you have pulled or overstretched the muscle. I have the same problem with my neck and shoulder and get pain if I tilt my head too much. My best advice would be use a heat pack until you know for definite. If you can't take ibrufen orally due to other meds, what about the nurofen ointment which can be rubbed on the specific spot. I suggest this as my sister had tendonitis, can't take ibrufen due to anti depressants and doctor gave her ointment.

I have a lovely massive bruise where the muscle is hurting today!!!

Still in pain but just about managing to drive, got an icepack on it at present.
