Blimp to Bombshell: RawrGirl's Weight Loss Diary

Hi :) Im here to subscribe :) read through your whole diary and it is amazing :) great to see you feeling good about yourself! xxx

Wow, thanks! Glad to meet you. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

RawrGirl has had a wonder thanksgiving with Prince Charming.

First off was breakfast -- frosted pumpkin cakesters.

Then lunch was cream of potato soup with sour cream, bacon bits, and cheddar cheese with a cream cheese, bacon, jalapeno grilled cheese sandwhich.

And of course, dinner was RawrGirl's favorite holiday meal -- croissant with turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and sweet potatoes. It was to die for.

And for dessert, caramel apple pie enchiladas.

Though RawrGirl did not count any of the calories, everything but the sandwich bread, stuffing, and croissant was sugar-free and very low carb. And very amazingly, Prince Charming LOVED the apple enchiladas and was glad she'd made him an extra.

And then....RawrGirl did a Shred workout. :D

She was slightly overfull at one point (shortly after dinner), but in less than an hour, she just felt full, and within an hour of that, she was just not hungry. (That's when she did the Shred.) Of course, right now, as she is typing this, she is trying to distract her self from having another turkey croissant sandwich. It will be odd to go to bed on Thanksgiving day with an empty stomach...will she make it?

Wow all that food looks delish! you must be pretty chuffed about getting a workout in! I so wish we did thanksgiving in Australia - then again maybe not - LOL. glad your Prince Charming loved the foods also :) xx

Ok, YUM! This all looks amazing!

So glad you had a good and yummy day after looking forward to it for so long. You deserved it! And I cannot believe you managed to Shred too, I am in awe RawrGirl, well done! Even if you did have another croissant, you still had a fantastic day. X

YUM the crossiant looks incredible! and hats off for doing Shred on Thanksgiving- THAT is dedication!

Our family traditional Christmas breakfast is crossiant with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs :) Who would have thought crossaints were so festive?!

How are you doing, my skinny little friend? Hope you're having a great weekend. X

Hello hello?! Hope all is well with you my dear? I miss my diet buddy ;)

RawrGirl is sick...has been sick since Friday, is sleeping all day and night, until today, where she is still sick, but having slept all day, finds herself still awake at 4am. Not fun. Will be back on Minimins as soon as she feels better. Hope everyone else is doing lovely.

FYI -- Unfortunately, RawrGirl is not one to lose her appetite when sick, so no bonus of weight loss. :/

You poor thing. Sending virtual hugs and chicken soup. Get well soon! I'm the same, tend to eat MORE when I'm sick! X

Get well soon! I miss your posts!

And I'm the same too - I never lose my appetite and I tend to use being sick as an excuse to eat more.

RawrGirl Returns

Thanks for all the get well wishes!

RawrGirl finally started feeling better on Friday. She didn't really count calories all week, but she did immediately go back into low carb...so probably hit ketosis around Wednesday/Thursday. Her guess would be that she ate maintenance calories. This past weekend was the usual of around 1500 calories, though again RawrGirl didn't count. Perhaps as high as 1700 Fri and Sat, but def no higher.

So 3 weeks till Christmas holiday...3 weeks till the scale...3 weeks till her family sees her for the first time in months.

RawrGirl plans on being very strict for 3 weeks. She def would like to be 135 (1 pound per week loss, if she didn't gain over Thanksgiving weekend), but of course she wouldn't say no to 129 (her ultimate goal)!

So lots of Shred, very strict dieting, and hopefully by Christmas, RawrGirl will see a hint of spine...

Yippppeeeeee! You're back!!

Strict few weeks for me too (with the exception of a few planned nights out!) so we can do this together! x

A Coat for Christmas

Prince Charming asked RawrGirl what she wanted for Christmas and she said a coat. She had wanted the coat from Venus that she posted a pic of here a while a back since last year, but started to get hesitant about it due to its wide lapel and double-breasted style (two things RawrGirl should avoid if she wants to look slim). So then she saw a picture of the type of coat she should wear in one of her style books...and fell head over heals in love.

However, not having the money, RawrGirl refused to go window shopping until she thought to call up Burlington Coat Factory (discounted name brand coats) and ask if they have layaway. And the do! So off RawrGirl went!

Racks and racks of wide lapel, double-breasted coats assailed her from every direction and she was getting rather discouraged until she stumbled upon a coat that she never would have tried it on (from the way it looked on the hanger), but knowing that it matched up to the "rules" she should go by (narrow lapel, v-neck, single-breasted, tailored waist, flared hips), she tried it on...

...and fell in love.

It was available in both grey and black, but the grey looked more elegant (and she knows Prince Charming prefers grey), so after trying on a variety of sizes (the 6 fit her waist perfectly!), she put down 20%. The only bad thing will be is if she doesn't have $80 needed to pick it up in 2 weeks so she can wear it on holiday.

Ironically, she can not find a pic of it anywhere on line and so she won't be able to share it with her Minimins friends until she takes a pic of herself in it in 2 weeks, but it is very flattering and slimming. The combination of being tailored at the waist and the flare of the hips, makes RawrGirl's waist look very narrow. :) She is counting down the days...

Sounds like a beautiful coat- I can't wait to see you in it. Glad you went for grey, it's so timeless and goes with everything! Prince Charming has great taste ;)

Welcome back! Can't wait to see you in that lovely new coat x

Thanks! RawrGirl is dying to have it. She went back to that store today and tried it on and then paired it with scarves and handbags, etc. She also tried on tons of boots...but none were exactly what she wanted. O well. It's not like she has the money to buy them anyway (though if she'd found the perfect pair, she would have added them to her layaway!).

Christmas Countdown -- 18 Days to Go

So RawrGirl did very good today.

Just for the 3 weeks leading up to Christmas, she is cutting her calories back to 500 on Monday-Thursday, and on Friday 900, Sat 1100, and Sun 700. So instead of 800/800/800/800/1500/1500/1200 with an average daily caloric of 1057, her week now looks like 500/500/500/500/900/1100/700 with an average caloric intake of 671.

She knows she can do it during the week, but the adjustments for the weekend (cut the snack, only 3 vodkas instead of 4, and only 1/2 her sugar-free chocolate bar instead of the whole bar), well, let's just say, RawrGirl will believe that when she sees it, lol.

However, today is 508:

Breakfast -- salad wrap with lettuce, blue cheese dressing, chicken, onion, bacon bits (shoved in a quarter of a low carb wrap)

Supper -- fajitas with 3 oz chicken, 1 TB cheddar, 1/2 slice pepper jack, 1/2 TB light sour cream, 2 TB Salsa (half low-carb wrap)

Dessert -- Hazelnut coffee

RawrGirl did her Shred, plus went figure skating. :)

(PS -- Her membership is now expired, so she is only going Mondays and Wednesdays until she can afford to buy it again).

Christmas Countdown -- 16 Days to Go

Wow, RawrGirl is hungry today. Drinking lots of water to see if that helps. Oddly, Monday and Tuesday she wasn't hungry at all...not sure what the deal is today. May go over calories slightly if it doesn't go away.

Thing is...RawrGirl really wants to drop a few more pounds before Christmas. She knows she's thinner (and still feeling good about that), but the novelty of getting under 140 for the first time in 14 years has worn off abit, and she wants to be on that "Oh my gosh, I'm thin" high again over Christmas when she sees her fam for the first time in months. RawrGirl got down to 143lbs 2 years ago, so 138 doesn't really seem like that big of a difference -- not the kind where ppl will be like "Wow, you look amazing!"

In other words, RawrGirl wants to look like she's done. Not, "wow, you're getting thin...what diet are you on?" but more like a "wow, you are thin. What diet did you do?"

Hopefully that makes sense. RawrGirl's just not sure what to expect as she was 138.5 before Thanksgiving has no idea if and how much she gained, has no idea if and how much she gained the week being sick, has no idea if she's dropped that and is back to 138.5 and if so, how much can she realistically lose in 2.5 weeks.

RawrGirl would be very happy if she hit 133...as that is ten pounds less than 2 years ago and she thinks that would be an obvious difference. Plus, if her ultimate goal is 129, not many people would notice an additional 4 lbs, thus she would look like she was at goal. Lol, RawrGirl is probably sounding obsessive again.

It's just that her family is weird with approval/regard, etc. and it would just be nice to show up having accomplished a goal rather than trying to accomplish a goal. The first equals a success, the second equals an attempt with the possibility of failure.

That make sense?

Makes total sense to me! Approval is a huge part of losing weight for me. Yes, I lost weight for "me" but it really would mean nothing unless people noticed, especially my family.

And I know what you mean about wanting to look "finished" rather than "in progress"! I'm the same but I don't feel like I'm getting there any time soon!

Hope your hungry day passes. I had one yesterday and there never seems to be a pattern to when they appear. Grr!! X
