Green Day Cheese scones. Free on green.

These sound fab will be giving them a try tommorrow !

I made them a while ago and I must have made them wrong because although they looked delicious they were in fact disgusting and uneatable lol I may have to try again and use as a cobbler topping that sounds much nicer xxx

I finally got around to making cheese scones. sw stylie! They were amazing, they had a real cheese and onion pasty quality to them. The family loved them too.

300g chive and onion cottage cheese
Salt and pepper to season.
2 eggs.
100g instant mash (dried powder form)
Frylight.

Whizz the cottage cheese with a hand blender, season and whizz in the 2 eggs.
Stir in the instant mash powder to make a dough like consistency.
Separate into balls and flatten.
Put in an oven tray and frylight for 20 mins.
Voila!

Free on a green day. I'd encourage all green day fans to try these, it's a little gem of a recipe. It could easily be converted into a green day cheese and onion pie in an individual pot to serve with vege sausages and beans. Winter food!
These could be jazzed up with garlic, chilli or fresh herbs. It works well with plain cottage cheese and dried chives too.

sounds lovely! all these gorgeous recipes are making my belly rumble! haha :)

They are super lovely with an extra HEA added. I love eating mine cold.

What a clever idea!

I made these today for a couple of things - made some garlic and coriander ones as "mock" naan breads for my curry tonight and the rest I added chilli do and made little potato blinis! They were lush.

Had the blinis topped with laughing cow light and cucumber slices. Perfect lunch.

Mrs E-H, I just wanted to say you're not alone. I made them and they looked delicious, I even included my hex a cheese. But I did not enjoy them, my husb tried some and had to spit it out lol! Think it is all down to personal taste x

i love the idea of making them into a mini naan...
i dont particularly like them cold and wouldnt eat them as a cheese scone..but i do find that they are fab for dunking in your soup or as a topping for a stew..they just add that comfort food stodge that i require!!

i am going to..and that would save on a healthy extra if i made it into a flatbread type barm thing!!..
did you add anything to the mix any herbs etc

Used the cottage cheese with chives and added a couple of spring onions before I whizzed it up just to give a bit more flavour. Did make a batch adding curry powder too and they were just as nice

Are these really free,I just wonder about the whole food abuse thing using the mash as like a flour ?
I hope they are free cos I really want to try them :)

I spoke to my c bout this and she said as long as its incorporated within a meal it should be fine. If I had a salad for lunch I would have jacket pot and cottage cheese with it so the way I see it I'm not eating anymore than I would. Think if you were to snack on them daily it possibly could hamper weight loss. Guess its trial and error with this whole food abuse thing :)
