Chicky Noops - Shaking It Up

LOL, GG's being subversive. ;) :8855:

For what it's worth I think you're wise to worry about getting enough vits and minerals, especially at this stage. I think when you move up to the higher plans (1000, 1200, 1500) there's a case for wondering whether you still need to have a shake and food, but while your calorie intake is so low it's going to be a struggle to get all the nutrition you need without having Cambridge products as well. That's one of the reasons why the people behind conventional diets like WW and SW bang on about starvation mode kicking in at less than 1200 calories. There isn't really any such thing as starvation mode but it is true that for optimum fat loss you need to keep your body in good working order, that is, feed it what it needs!

i know you're frustrated that the scales aren't budging but that's actually very common on the first week of a higher plan. Next week's loss will be better. But remember, it is going to slow down now. You haven't got as much fat to burn. You're probably looking at an average of 2-2.5 lbs a week, rather than the 3-4lbs you tend to lose when you've got more to lose. Still a darn sight faster than you'd get on any other diet!

By the way, loving your food pics. I might not be eating right now but I really enjoy looking at what other people are eating on higher plans!

Hi, I gotta say that I agree with Lily! I only lost 1lb today after stepping up to SS+ but after being disappointed I have come to the realisation that on the small amount f calories I will continue to lose weight! I sometimes struggle to eat or drink the final product but at the end f the day I know I need it as last time I was on ths plan back last year I missed a product two days running and really felt the results in a negative way as I passed out and that was enough of a shock to make sure I always have my products!

I think as Lily says as you get up to the much higher plans it would not matter so much but the steps I suppose are there for a reason and scientifically worked out!

Take care x x

You speak a lot of sense Lily! Thanks :) And I am glad the food pics aren't a hinderence for you, I did worry hence the warnings!

I know it will catch up at some point, it has to doesn't it?! There is no way I am deviating from plan, that's for sure! Have got a holiday in Center Parcs coming up and a couple of nights out which I need to plan wisely.

Agreed! Well done on yuor 1lb, I think I would have been happy with that as it is still a loss. It should have been my WI tonight and by my scales I would have STS so hopefully by my WI on Weds, I will have caught up x

Yes over the 1lb loss now and have to realise with only 12lb to lose it is going to slow up so need to be realistic!

Good luck for your weigh in on Wednesday! X

I think (hope!) my plateau is over. I'm 2lbs lighter since earlier in the week when I was worried... of course, still only 1lb lighter than last weigh in but I'd be happy with 1lb a week actually. I'm not in any rush to 'get back to normal', I could stay on SS+ forever I reckon with the odd night off for social events! I am finding it so easy, it just seems to be a way of life now which is why I wasn't even tempted to cheat when the scales weren't complying!

Speaking of social events, I have a few coming up:

16th Feb - night out in town, friend's leaving do. No meal, just drinks but first night out since NYE. Will stick to G&T.

18th - 22nd - holiday in Center Parcs. Trickier. We go with friends a couple of times a year and it normally revolves around eating, drinking, Starbucks... you get the pic! am going to take tetras for brekkie, that's one meal I don't have to worry about. We have a meal in the pancake house but they do omelettes as well so can choose wisely there. We have a meal booked in the indian so will go for dry chicken tikkia, salad and saag bhaji - not too bad? Then we have an italian (eek?) and something else, I can't remember - Cafe Rouge? Hopefully I can just make wise, low carb choices and limit any gain. Will take some bars and have them for lunch when I can.

23rd Feb - Night out, murder mystery event with work - will stick to G&Ts

2nd March - Birthday night out in Leeds with friends. Indian. Will have low carb chicken and spinach

3rd March - my actual birthday. Staying in hotel in Liverpool - meal booked at Gusto (Italian - eek) I think this is the only time I might have a few cocktails.

So, it's going to be a tricky few weeks and I think if I can get through all that and be at 11st 7 by mid March then I would be thrilled! I wonder if that is realistic!

Hopefully, I will have a few quiet weeks after then, haha :)

Wow Teresa, how amazing to have a whole new wardrobe :) Hope you have a good week too!

Tonight's meal!

80g spring greens and sliced mushrooms, large chicken breast sliced and all fried in a little Frylight, 5 spice and chill - yum!

Had this again tonight. LOVE it, urge you all to try it. So tasty and satisfying :)

Haven't posted my meals for a while. Here's what I had tonight - cod baked in foil with pepper and portobello mushroom baked with cottage cheese, chilli and chives. Really enjoyed it! Doesn't look much on the plate but it was very filling.

Weigh in is Weds so it will be 13 days since my last one. I'm not expecting much after the week long plateau, I'd be fine with a couple of pounds :)

Ooh, very creative - your dinner looks lovely! Funny how everything looks delicious when you're SS-ing. :D

If I see the Whoosh Fairy tonight I'll send her your way (kind of hoping to see her myself - my scales have also been sticky!). :)

Damn these sticky scales, seems there are a few of us in the same position! Hoping you get a whoosh, Lily!

My hubby was a bit embarrassed I posted this pic (he made it!) but I was like, 'nah, don't worry, we're all in the same boat of appreciating the most limited food options' Haha, I remember getting excited about having cucumber when I did SS!

That looks lush Hun think I may have to try this and the chicken dish I am getting a bit fed up of cottage cheese salad or chicken salad!

Snap my weigh in is also on Wed I bet you will have a fab loss after 13 days my weigh in is only after a week! I like you and hoping to loss 2lb!

Hope you have a good day tomorrow not long now until Wed! X

I am in on my own tonight as Lee is at football so just had 2 pickled eggs and a few chunks of cucumber - didn't bother taking pics of that meal, ha!

Weird - I feel so slim. Had my size 10 dress on today and about 5 people commented on how slim I was. I just felt small! Love it! Yet, I reckon it will be a 2lb max loss tomorrow after 13 days, going by my scales, so perhaps I 've lost more inches? Or maybe it was just the dress making me feel slimmer memtally? I don't know, but hey ho, all good!

That is fantastic, Im so pleased and excited for you! What an amazing feeling you must have right now, You sooo deserve it!

Well done hun and good luck for WI :D xx

Wow size 10.... You are slim!!! You must have looked amazing, well done :)

Wore skinny jeans and my new knee high boots tonight round to sister in laws for her bday and so many.comments about how slim I looked.... It feels great doesn't it!!

Well I only lost 1lb and no inches, after 13 days!

Then last night I ended up going away with work.... 5 G&Ts last night  Thankfully Wetherspoons do a chicken skewer meal served with salad so I managed not to go off the rails. I also had 2 poached eggs, mushrooms and black coffee for breakfast so I am proud that (aside from the gin!) I can survive impromptu events if I need to!

Big night out tomorrow night... I need to come out of Ketosis, hate that! Not done it since NYE! But I have to be safe. Then I go on holiday to Center Parcs on Monday so next WI is almost 2 weeks away. Hoping I can control everything, and if I could get to WI as a maintain I would be over the moon I think. Then it will just be my birthday weekend to get through. I don't think I am going to see any losses for a while now! I do plan to get back on SS for a week after I get back from CP this time next week but it is going to be 2nd week of March before I am fully back on plan with no diversions!

Wow Hun you sound like you have a lot of social events coming up hun lucky you! You have done so well Hun and you sound so motivated to get back on track after this planned time off I am sure you will have a great time and get back on track afterwards!

Have a fab time Hun x x

Hello everybody!

I am back from my hols at Center Parcs. We all had a fab time and I surprised myself at how restrained I was! I stuck to 1 low carb meal a day and 2 CD products. Had about 1-2 g&ts or red wines in the evening and a couple of soya lattes but countered with lots of swimming, biking and walking, I am hoping the damage on the scales will be minimal.

I don't officially get weighed until next Thursday but will jump on my scales in the morning.

Off to have a catch up with everyone else now :)

Hi Hun glad you had a good trip to Centre Parcs glad you enjoyed your holiday and restrained yourself. Good luck for your weigh in on Thursday!

I am going off CD only have few pounds to go so have made decision to start SW next Thursday! So this week been slowly introducing some carbs! I am going to get my diary moved onto Silver Diares section of this forum so will pop back to see how you are getting on!

Good luck and take care x x

Sounds like a sensible move Teresa! You have done so well and SW is a great maintenance diet, just hope the shock to your system isn't too much but it sounds like you are building yourself up to it gradually!

I think I want to get to 11 stone or maybe just under with CD, then low carb is def the way forward for me.

I weighed this morning and OMG, I am the same as I was a week ago! Depsite a night out and 5 days on holiday! I am thrilled as I had told my CDC that I would be expecrtring a small gain next WI, but as it stands, I could actually lose a couple before next Thursday! I am back on SS for a week before going back to SS+, though it is my birthday weekend next week and we are going to Liverpool and have a meal booked at Gusto.

Gah, forgot how hard it is getting back into Ketosis! I am STARVING and have had all 3 products :(
