Creamy mushroom Sauce

Hi All

I'm new to the boards.

Joined SW in Jan 2010 and have so far lost nearly 2 stone.

I am looking for a healthy (low or no syn)mushroom sauce for pasta that I could add ham or bacon to. I'm on the extra easy version of SW.

Hubby loves this and wants to see if I can make it as nice as Asda's ready meal! LOL!

Much Appreciated

Sparkle

:thankyou:

Hey Sparkle, help is at hand, I think you'll find this yummy.

Garlic and mushroom sauce (serves 4, 1/2 syn per serving)

10 Garlic cloves, unpeeled
Frylight
340g button mushrooms, chopped
113ml stock made with Chicken Bovril
4 tbsp buttermilk
4 tbsp freshly chopped parsley

1. Preheat oven to 180C/Gas mk 4. Place garlic on a baking sheet, spray with frylight and bake for 15 mins or until softened. Remove and gently squeeze the cloves out of their skins into a bowl.
2. Heat a pan sprayed with frylight, add the mushrooms and fry until tender. Stir in the chicken stock, bring to the boil and cook for 1-2 mins.
3. Allow to cool a little, then transfer to blender along with the garlic, buttermilk and parsley and blend until nearly smooth. Return to the pan and reheat gently before serving.

Obviously, if you don't want the garlic flavour you could skip this step.

Enjoy. x
