Having had two babies in 15 mths and tried every diet going to lose baby weight I decided that drastic measures were needed!

Had my first shake this morning - strawberry. Thought it was ok. But I am now hungry hungry hungry. Want my normal 11am cake.

Also stating to get a head ache - is this psychological as surely the side effects shouldn't kick in so soon? Have drunk loads of water this am so peeing for England!

    Can't stop thinking about food.

Fairly sure I won't make it through Day 1 let alone the whole week.

Your stories inspire me but they don't solve the hunger!

Could really do with advice, encouragement, hints, tips (or cake!!).

Please keep me going. I don't want to fail again.:sigh:

sorry to hear you are struggling, but with 2 young ones to look after its no surprise that is difficult enough.
But do not give in because it will get easier and yes headaches almost right away are normal and a the peeing for england :) but in a few days once the ketones kick in the hunger gos and providing you drink lots and do not cheat the weight will start to melt away :) it is a great feeling and with all the lovely people on this forum for support....you will be slim.

Hey hon sorry to hear you are feeling hungry but just think itll be worth it, try distract yourself think about anything other than cake. What colour you want to paint the living room next what your going to get the kids for christmas go for a walk (even tho its freezing and peeing down) stick a dvd on .. have a look on the net find some clothes you will only buy when you are thinner look around a skinny catalouge website and get some "thinspiration" as my mam calls it when i start to sway and think i cant do it"

Stick with it hon you can seriously do it :) xx

OK Edwin (and welcome to LT)
The first day or two is awful, no easy way round it. You're drinking the water, so that's good, well done.
Divert yourself, go try on something that doesn't fit you, this'll remind you why you started this. Look at your lovely babies and pledge to get fit and healthy for them as well as yourself. Imagine standing at the school gates when they start school and you don't feel self-conscious of your size and how you look.
Make a list of why you want to do this and read it when you feel bad.
Jump on this forum, we all want you to succeed, and though we can't stop you going to the cupboard or fridge physically, we're all here in spirit with you. :grouphugg:
Just hang on a couple of days till ketosis kicks in, the hunger will leave you, and WAIT for your lovely surprise on WI day, you'll be gobsmacked !!:D
    xx

    Hi and welcome,

I know hoe you feel! I had hell on earth for the first few days, its only because i spent all my time on here whining that I stuck at it, every one just kep saying one more day one more day, then it was, wait for weigh in, then when i had lost 7lbs in one week there was no stopping me!

fill up your stomach with water and black coffee, you can also try splitting your shakes into two to have more meals, but to be honest i never did this as i wanted the full amount in one go!

there is no getting round the fact that the first week is really hard, BUT if you can just keep sticking to it, we promise the rewards make it all worth while!

I was similar bmi to you when i started and have lost 22lbs in 6 weeks, and i am one of the slower weight loses! you could lose much more.

just hang in there, whine on here a lot, drink coffee, tea and water like its going out of fashion, if you dont like it black try adding a sweetner tablet - i now prefer coffee that way.

just hang in there, and you will be at target in no time, well before christmas anyway! what a great pressie to yourself and yours, a lovely fit slim healthy you.

good luck and be disciplined, just for a few days then it gets easier.

good morning welcome to lt i am only on the first week and to be honest on my first day i was rough real rough i was in tears and same as you didnt know i could stick at it but after reading how WELL everyone has done i stuck at it and so glad i did. i was advised to hold off on the first shake as long as i could so i have my first one at 12pm then 4pm then 7-8pm i have heard some people split there shakes in half so they can drink more before over the course of the day. honest hun dont give up you will regreat it in the end i am the same as you my first two children are only 53 weeks to the day between them and i also had 3 children after my first two so i have a lot of baby weight to lose and i tried ever diet going. just imagine how you will feel when you go to your first weigh in and told you lost a good weight lose. you will be in such a high. take the paracetomol for ya headaches i suffer headaches really bad but since day 3 my headaches have been clear and before i started my diet i had a migraine that was there for 5 days and wouldnt clear at all no matter what i took for it. your body is detoxing if you are a big caffine drinking that could be the course of the headaches as ya body isnt getting it but i promise you they will ease. just read the post on everyone forst weigh in and the excitment everyone had it is such a buzz not that i no that yet personally but i will come thursday cos to lose something and not gian a lb like i did on the other diets i will be over the moon. we are all here to help as much as we can but you also have to have the will power. i am getting married next year and when i was ill i looked at my wedding dress and said NOP i am gonna do this as it will be worth it in the end and i am so glad i did as i have been fine now. good luck hunni an shout if you need us we all need surport at some point xxxxx

Thanks for your words everyone - every post contained something that inspired me!

Have now had my second shake - vanilla with coffee and ice. I liked it. Not sure how I will get through until 'dinner' though!

Was previously doing SW and struggling to stick to it - how funny as now I think it seems easy!

The cake is still looking at me through the kitchen cupboard - have to keep it for my 2 year old as it's his favourite treat! Can't think where he got that habit from!!

Thanks again - I'm going to need you guys lots over the next few days.

I Hear ya , i didnt find the 1st week at all easy ( but i got threw it and it was really worth it , 9 lb off and im so proud i didnt crack , what got me threw was one simple outfit that i so very much want to wear , anytime i felt the hunger and temptation i went and pulled that top out of my wardrobe , ive got nippers aswell so have had to be around food , i just did there meals after id had loads of water and my shake , hold on to the reasons why you want to loose weight everytime the hunger kicks in :O)

welcome honey, sorry to hear you are not well...

I am now on Day 8

I was in flying form the first few days until day 5 and 6 and the Lipotrim sickness beat me repeatidly!! Day 7 i woke up fresh as a spring lamb and bounced around again.you have to understand that you body needs a little time to get rid of all the toxins and crap you have been filling your body with.. Never mind all the weight you will loose for a minute. The other benifits that you are going to see much sooner rather than later: Your skin is going to be glowing, your nails stronger, your posture is going to improve, your confidence is going to know no bounds, you will sleep better. I could go on for pages but most of all, you are going to wake up and feel like a huge weight is gone off your shoulders because finally you are doing something thats working to get the weight off, you dont have to feel ugly or ashamed or second best any more and i think that is the greatest gift you can give yourself

I dont feel a bit hungry and it feels like i have a dead fish in my mouth but i had my first weigh yesterday -9 3/4 pounds. I started 13.13 so very near you. I still cant promise ill stick to it tommorrow but i do know i will stick to it today. Make a promise to yourself that every bad day you have that you will sleep on it and if you decide to quit in the morn so be it. This is working for me because evenings are my hardest so it gets me though them. Goodluck xxx

    Hello and welcome.

As everyone says, the first week is hell! One friend told me she was so hungry she could have eaten the carpet! I think that prepared me for the tough time and helped me see it through (I didn't find this site till about my 4th week)

Everything they have said above is true. It does get easier and the hunger does go. I'm now into my 18th week and have just done my weekly shop. I wasn't tempted at all. Of course my eldest would have words to say if I did try to cheat - teenagers!!!!!

Keep yourself as occupied as you can this week. Focus on your first WI. Treat yourself with bubble baths and beauty treatments, especially once the children are in bed as many of us find that the danger time!

Find an outfit you really like and hang it in your bedroom where you can see it first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I have a size 14 pair of M&S jeans and Jane Norman top that I really want to get into, hopefully by my birthday or for a do I am going to 4 days before. It really helps keep me focused.

We have all been through what you are going through and do sympathise. We are here to help you through it and will be celebrating with you when you post your first loss!

Good luck hunny, you can do this, just stick with it and drink plenty.
