Does it ruin the diet if you have less than your calorie allowance?

    Hi all

I've been doing the diet for a month and have lost 1 stone :).

This week I gained 1/2 pound. I was good all week and my leader thinks it may be because on some days I have fewer than my 1800 calorie allowance (some days I had 1600ish). Has this happened to anyone else? I can't help feeling that eating when I'm not hungry is wrong!

Any advice you can give will be gratefully recieved.

    Claire :)

Not really sure about that one but are you exercising often? Exercising should counter any effect that might have...

I did more exercise last week than any other! Typical. I'll eat all my calories and see what happens...

yeah it messes it up your on 1800 because thats the amount for your bmr if you have less your body panics and thinks your in a famine and so it stores any fat you get, i made the same mistake when i first started because i foiund it difficult to go from 1400 to 1600 and i gained a pound. wierd isn't it.

Thanks for your reply, I'm glad it's not just me!
I ate more and as a result lost 3lbs. I guess it's no hardship to have more calories :)
