Down with Spanx!

I avoided crackling and yorkshire puds! Yay me! I did have one roast potato, some veg roasted in olive oil and some gravy, so probably allow 6 syns for the meal. Result!

Leelea - don't worry - she who laughs last, laughs longest! I'm sure you'll find a way to get your own back!

Anyway, quick note to self for future reference:

I love veg!!!

Sorry, just needed to remind myself for those days when I don't want to see another piece of broccoli!

Had a yummy tea tonight - all cooked in less than 15 mins - faster than going to the take away!

Just had some pasta, with a tbsp of pesto and then a 'sauce' made by cooking tomatoes, courgettes, mushrooms and broccoli in fry light. It was yum!!!

Ooh that pasta dish does sound yum.

Evening Spanx,

Glad you made the right choices hun, you see you can be a good girl when you need to be. lol

Hello my lovely, done your packing yet? Just think, with smaller clothes sizes, you can fit more into the same sized suitcase!!! Got room for a (not so) little one? I could do with some sunshine!

It really was Q - and all for 4.5 syns (pesto)! When I've replenished my supply of red pesto it'll be only 2.5 syns - keep forgetting to buy some more red as I don't look at any of the processed food or sauces in the supermarket anymore!

Going to do it again when I've got a bit more time and roast the veg first - will probably be even nicer...

Packing!!!

are you trying to insinuate I am an organized person? OMG... you have totally got me wrong! ;)

I am the one that is still chucking things into the case as hubby is parked out front pipping horn.:character00182::rant2:

I am the one that falls through the airport doors gasping for breath and shouting Where TF is my check-in desk?:peep:

I am the one that is perusing in the duty free when my name comes over the tannoy!:silly:

I am the one that gets on the plane to a cheer so loud it wakes me up!:talk017:

I am the one that sits there saying hail Mary's and rocking back and forth!

Get the picture? :roofles:

p.s Get ur bikini on kid, will shove you in my bum bag :rotflmao:

Hope you got to the airport in time then Patsy!

Well, I'm having a 'bleugh' week. I seem to have lost my way a bit - I'm not going overboard, ie not going over my syns (apart from Tues night when a friend cooked dinner!), but I've lost my mojo a bit. SW has become a chore this week, rather than a pleasure... Hmmm, need to do something about it!

Hi Spanx, just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed reading your diary - it is brilliant, you are definitely a born blogger! Keep the faith and you will get there, I know you will xx

Thanks Nikki!

Well, I am ecstatic to report a 2lbs loss this week, despite me having lost my mojo! (Perhaps it weighs 2lbs, who knows?! :D)

So, today's ramblings are about exercise...

Hands up how many of you have decided to up your exercise rate, researched all the latest fitness equipment and dvds, made your choice and then bought it. *puts hand up*

Unfortunately for me, my subconscious seems to think that just buying it is enough! I mean, come on, I don't actually have to use it do I?! Surely the weight should just fall off because I've made the effort to spend some money on exercise equipment? I mean, that was quality time I spent thinking about those purchases! :D

So this week's mini challenge is to actually do one of the dvds/wii games I have invested in recently for more than 5 minutes! I've got:

  • a pilates dvd
  • a dancercise dvd

  • just dance for wii
  • my personal trainer for wii
  • biggest loser for wii
So, I hereby solemnly vow that by this time next week, I will have spent at least 1 hour getting to grips with each of those!

oh biggest loser for the wii? let me know if that's any good spanx :) x

Hahaha. I totally do that. I got it into my head that I HAD to have Biggest Loser on Wii and went to the supermarket to get it, all full of excitement and confidence about it, then brought it home. Had one go, and thats been so long since that happened I am scared to switch it on in case Bob shouts at me for slacking!!!

heya spanx, well done on the 2lb loss. I love bob harper... i hope you enjoy getting sweaty with him :D

Well done with your loss Spanx. I've not been around much over the past couple of weeks, so will have to spend sometime catching up. I also have Biggest loser , just dance and wii fit...like you I need to realise that buying them doesn't actually lose weight LOL

Chooo hooo,

Trouble is back... so get your ragerty arse down on the deck and give me 20 push-ups!:8855::8855:

I too have a wii, but I like to play Mario! I'm sure all that arm lifting and jumping up and down when I get killed is good exercise. :8855:

You can do this and I know you will. You have a date with a slimmer you! Don't keep her waiting!;)

Hi all!

Patsy - I'll have you know my arse is far from 'ragerty' - in fact, it is very well-rounded!! Glad to hear you had a good hols!

I'm rather scared of Bob too Minxy! Still, it's nice (occasionally!) to have a fit man boss you around... if he steps out of line too far though, I shall have to squash him with a fly swatter!

Leelea - I will give you a full report when I have completely got to grips with Bob!! (Oo-er missus!)

Thanks Karen and Caroline - I'm not having such a good week this week though, far too much socialising with friends! Son has gone to spend a fortnight with his Dad, so I've been out 3 times already this week and am off out again tonight for tapas! Will be lucky to get away with a STS this week...and if I do, I shall count my lucky stars and reapply myself properly next week!

Even though I've been out so much though, I'm not being mega-naughty - have tried to pick the healthier options on the menus and stuck to the odd glass of wine rather than getting stuck into the beers like I would normally have done!

Evening!

Well, I lost 0.5lb this week - and I'm actually very pleased about it. My son is away with his Dad for a fortnight, so I've been out for dinner 3 times this week, as well as going to friends for lunch and dinner! I was hoping for a STS at the very best, so half a pound was a bonus!

Just shows what you can do when you put your mind to it! I made sensible choices when I was out and had a couple of glasses of wine instead of beer, so I feel very proud of myself!

Also had some fab NSVs this week - I'm back into the first of the bras I hung on the back of my door as motivation and I also put on a pair of jeans I haven't worn for about 6 weeks and they were too big! Yay me!

Have failed spectacularly at trying all my exercise games/dvds - largely because I started with Just Dance and the Biggest Loser and enjoyed them so much I've done them all week!

Biggest Loser is well worth the money - I think I only paid about £10 for it. There's a fitness programme, which helps you work out your daily calories (not much use on SW I know, but quite interesting!), contains sample recipes and sets you an exercise programme depending on whether you want to lose a little, lose a lot, or just tone up. You then set a weight loss goal for the duration of the programme (7lb in 4 weeks in my case) and off you go!

You'll be pleased to hear that Bob doesn't shout too much (sure Jillian would be different!) and there are some good features to the exercise programme, like a counter telling you how much time is left and captions that pop up telling you 'you're half way through, keep it up!' etc.

It also 'scores' your workout, presumably dependent on the amount of movement your wii remote detected while you were doing the routine.

You can also choose from a range of other routines to supplement your programme if you want.

The only thing I found a little disconcerting is that there is also a counter telling you how many calories you've burned - and it's depressingly few! I did a 20 minute light workout and only burnt 30 calories...that's less than a third of the Kitkat treat I had as part of my syns today! Just shows that you need to do quite a bit of exercise to really benefit.

All in all, I would recommend it, if you can get it for around a tenner! :D

well done on your nsv, that is fab:).I'ts a great feeling when you can get back in to things isnt it.woo hoo:).hope you have a good week.x

Well done hunnie bun... You will be in that miss whiplash costume before you know it!:8855:

Exercise is out the window for me at the mo... too many germs floating around at the gym. Everything is going to pot at the mo re getting the new body I want... got the face sorted and the rest is suffering. :8855:

Sweet dreams hun xx

 Patsy - have you been peeking in my wardrobe?! :D

Hope you are feeling better and starting to heal! x

Marvin has been to visit for the last two days - I tried to shake him off, but he's a stubborn so-and-so! Still, I managed to keep him at bay with lots of fruit and a Kitkat, so hopefully not too much damage done!

Have had my fix of trash TV tonight - Biggest Loser US, followed by Britain's Next Top Model - talk about extremes!!! It amazes me on Biggest Loser how they can lose so much weight in a week - they must exercise all day every day! One guy lost almost a stone and a half in the first week!

Hmmm, really want a good result this week, but I've slipped the last couple of days. Ended up having a couple of EE days, but not eating enough fruit and veg - think that's why I can't get to grips with EE - it seems like a bit of a cop out for when you just have to have sausage and SW chips or a big bowl of chilli and rice! :p
