Dukan Do It....

Hi hun, today was not restful, seem to have spent the whole day sorting stuff for one thing and another. paperwork for JSA, clothes for staying at Parents for a few days, cooking, tidying, ironing and dying my hair LOL.

Had my hair cut the other day and decided to colour it today, wasn't sure what it was going to turn out like as it didn't look as red as I normally have it, but to be honest I quite like it...its more of an auburn colour. Very nice.

Weigh in this morning and I had put 1lb on from yesterday, but my weeks loss was still 3.5lb. Very pleased with that. I don't expect it to do that every week but at the moment it seems to be an average. I don't scrimp on what I eat, and I try lots of different ways of cooking. I don't drink any of the fruit squashes now as I am not convinced they help, thou I do have my diet coke every day, a few hot drinks and some water means I am definately getting my fluids.

Exercise is a bit of a hit and miss thing at the moment, I will get better with it but I don't feel its hindering me at all.

Lotto, I think its TOTM levelling out. I finished friday time, and this weekend has brought my body back to balance I think. I don't mind I put on this morning as I do think its was a lot yesterday. I seem to lose 3lb quite often. I figured its cos I have a lot to lose. Ideally I need to lose about 7 stone from start to finish. I originally set myself 5 stone as it seemed a long target, but since I am doing so so well I have been thinking about re-evaluting my goal weight. going to wait and see what I feel when I get closer.

Salt has been a problem in the past i think. Some days I add it to eggs and occasionally salads as it saves on dressings, but obviously it doesn't help with the weight. I need to be careful.

Well done on the 3.5lb loss!!

I used to put salt on everything, but I've weaned myself off it now. I now cover everything in pepper (which I think is better?)

Anyway, you're doing great, keep on Dukan-ing!

thanks hun.

Have been at my parents the last few days, great to talk dukan with them, lots of advise and help. Their PP day was the same as mine.

Mum and I went shopping and I bought quite a few new tops and a pair of trousers a size lower again, very pleased to have been able to buy a size 20....mind you they were stretchy LOL, but I 'm happy.

Unfortunately our shopping trip had a hiccup up in that we couldn't find any where to have a dukan friendly meal. We ended up in a little diner and I had a ham salad sandwich. Was very nervous about having the bread and only ate 3/4s of it....but today I have had an upset tummy. Not sure if it was the bread or something else as I'm not sure it would have reacted 24 hours later, but I did enjoy that sandwich LOL.

Will weigh in the morning to see what I'd done since tuesday morning. Fingers crossed for at least a pound eh?

DF fingers crossed hear xxx

Hiya, weigh in this morning was a gain, though yesterday was a loss. I have proved even more so that the later we eat at night the more it stays there in the morning. On Friday afternoon we had visitors and we ended up with a late tea, by the time we ate it was about 10pm. Gained nearly two pounds next morning. All settled hopefully. I had a strictish day today. I made chocolate mousse today, very yum. Could def get used to to that.

Went out shopping with my friends and got a new top, then went to car boot yesterday and got a skirt, trousers and another couple of tops. Sorted out my wardrobe this morning and I now have loootttssssss of tops LOL. Quite a few are ones i wore a couple of years ago and now fit again YAY. In the process of sorting out my trouser shelves I found two old pairs of trousers I used to wear that are Matalan ones, similar to the one i got last week LOL. One of the pairs had the elastic gone in the material so they've gone to the recycle bin but the others fit Yippee, and are now part of my 'wearing' clothes. with the new tops I got last week whilst with my Mum I'm sorted for a while.

when i started the diet I was a size 20-22 in tops and a size 24 in trousers. I have dropped a full size on both and can actually fit into a 16 top if its a bit stretchy and the two matalan trousers are size 20, but are very stretchy too. So I've kind of dropped a size and a half really.

Its obv a slow week again and I only lost half a pound in total this week, looking at my record book it seems to be the week after my period that stalls my losses. Fingers crossed this week will be a good one.

My aim this month is to get to a loss of 35lbs. and am currently at 30lb so am on target. My original target is 70lb and according to the website is achievable by late January. four an a half months to lost 35lb, so far its taken me two and half months to lose the 30lb. I realise though that its not going to happen that quickly for the last half. I've worked it out that for every dress size its about 1.5 stone.

I would love to be able to buy an item of clothing from off the normal racks. So fed up of having to go looking for the specialised plus size racks. Asda normal clothes, latest fashions go to size 20 apart from occasional times. Same for Matalan.

I actually got two jumpers from primark last week, size 20, WOW actually managed to get clothes from Primark that fit. Be a while before it happens again i reckon.

no joy on the job front for my hubby, he's trying like mad to find jobs, always checking out the jobs sites and the agencies. Still don't know what the JSA is going to be,they didn't start processing paperwork til Friday, problem is he's got to go sign on tomorrow and we have no idea whats happening. Its so annoying having to wait for everything. Grrrr. Oh well, nothing we can do, have to take it one day at a time.

Wish it had been a good loss this morning too after my hard work yesterday....boo hoo, stayed the same.

Been sorting out paperwork this morning, why is it insurances etc always ask the same quesstions over and over again. Grrrr. Hopefully its all sorted. DD has gone with DH to sign on today, bless her she is so helpful, she's gone so she can carry his paperwork or push his chair up the ramp LOL.

Back to school tomorrow, she's excited about it and looking forward to seeing her friends. She's going in to Year 6, so her final year at primary school. She's the Deputy Head Girl too so she's looking forward to displaying the badge and helping other kids.

Oh heck just remembered i need to take chicken out of freezer.....be back soon.

DF, hope Hubby finds job soon, you're doing so well keep going xx

thanks hun.

Have had an ok day today,

Bf - Oatbran porridge (with vanilla and nutmeg flavourings) and rhubarb.
L - Cheese Omelette with water chestnuts and tomatoes (cheese was LC EL triangles) / Jelly and Yogurt
D - Chicken patties with salad. (these were gorgeous, a recipe from another site, very yum) / Rhubarb Muffin
Su - Seafood Salad (leftover from tea) / chocolate mousse

Fluids - just over two litres.

To be honest I don't think any of these are tolerated items, none in the recipes either. Only cheat was watered down mayo (I use it occasionally and not stalled before), and three chips. That seems to have become my regular, norty me. When I make chips for the family I nick three chips from the plates. So so nice and yummy. Very Naughty I know.

Hi Lotto, thanks for asking. yeah I'm fine. All sorts going on, not least being summer holidays and kids stuff LOL. Hubby finally got his letter with dates of termination, turns out it was yesterday, even though they told him a week ago. All confusing, but no P45 in the package cos we think they are holding it off as a threat in order to get back the laptop and phone. It means we can't put into motion all the usual Job seekers and mortgage insurance stuff til after tomorrow.

I didn't think anyone was reading my diary so kind of left it a bit LOL, I know I've had comments but last weeks posts weren't read I don't think....probably wrong, :D

This weeks weigh in's so far have ticked off another two goals.

On Tuesday I lost TWO STONE ......woohoo.
Today I lost into the next stone down....YAY!!!!

Feeling bloated today though, end of TOTM so its probably a mix of that and some of the veggies today...hopefully.

I've found that if I have my supper too late I don't lose the next day, supper has to be at 9pm ish to help, unfortuantely tonight it ended up being late, so hopefully tomorow isn't going to be a gain and make my 15s disappear.

Going for a nosey about, bound to be loads to read.

First: huuuuuge congrats on the 2 stone! Wow, you've managed that so fast!
Second: Totally agree about the eating late thing. This is my big challenge still, as I tend to see my evening meal as a treat and generally have it far too late. When I eat early I feel so much better and the weight comes off. For some reason, known only to the darkest, innermost workings of my mind, this knowledge is not helping me to actually change my behaviour and I still eat too late, far too often. Tell me how you deal with it!!

Right, will continue reading now!

Well DF, you are doing great. I'm sorry there's not been better news for your husband, sounds like he's doing all the right things though so will keep my fingers crossed something comes up. Lovely to read about your daughter being so helpful, you must be very proud, I'm sure I was never that thoughtful at her age!

Your stats are so impressive, you're doing really well. Keep it up - you'll be dropping another dress size before you know it!

Jx

Thanks hunni, I find that my incentive is the next mornings weigh in, I am so paranoid about seeing it go up that I use that to make me eat earlier. The last two days I've actually had supper even earlier.

This morning i finally lost a pound..YAY. After staying the same, and a gain it was a relief.

am convinced it was because I ate before 9pm last night. Did the same tonight so hopefully I'll see my aimed for quarter pound.

If I could lose a quarter pound each day i would lose nearly two pound a week and soon add up.

DD back to school today, we have a new head and she has already made loads of changes and personally i don't think they are all for the better. I am of the opinion, if something works...don't fix it. My only introduction to her so far was me being introduced as the lady that holds the card class, never mind the Supply TA or Supply Lunch/breakfast or Volunteer in class or pedestrian training. Another parent spoke to her and was blanked. Now really, should you be ignoring the parents of your school kids. I don't think so. will see, thankfully its DD last year there.

Right, just watching five mins of the lovely Steve McGarrett (Alex O'L) and then off to bed. Need sleep, was late to sleep last night because I couldn't put my book down!!! norty.

Woo hoo, lost another 1.75lb this morning....but with my bodies history that means tomorrow is a gain.

Had a very special moment this morning. One of my aims was to be able to buy clothes off the normal racks in shops. My usual shop is Asda, I like George clothes. But I have not been able to buy trousers in the normal styles instead having to find the plus sizes. They do a range of trousers that are their 'smart price' range at only £6. its always annoyed me that I have to pay double and more because i am bigger.

Well this morning I decided on the spur of the moment to try on a size 20. I got them on, zipped and buttoned. They are very tight on the waist but another half stone will loosen them. I would have to be very very careful bending down cos of the waist, but I was so chuffed I sat in the changing room and had a little cry. I started out a 24 3 months ago and now I have dropped almost a full two sizes. So so pleased i made the right decision to start this diet. Thanks Mum and Dad for showing me the way. xxx

Oh and forgot, a friend in school this morning I haven't seen since start of summer hols....said 'oh look at you, look how much you've lost. it was a good feeling.

Wonderful news :) the trousers are a great buy hun, they'll keep you conscious of yourself as you progress through the diet (as you feel them getting looser it will affirm things for you if the scales are stalling :))

how lovely to get a positive comment from your friend too :) hold today tight in your memory banks xxx

Great post DF, so pleased for you with the trousers and oh, wanted to give you a hug when you had your little cry in the changing room. Imagine how many great moments like that you have to come!!

You've inspired me to get back on track (I've been off track for the last 4 days really), so thank you and well done!

Jx

DF, loved that post you brought a year to my eye x no one who hasn't been over weight would know that feeling, well done and hears to the size 18 next xxx
