Emma's dukan diary

Mini tins? Don't do anything mini in this household :)

Sooo today I've had -

B - yoghurt
S - chicken breast
L - ham, quark and lettuce sandwich (dukan bread yay) and salmon flakes
S - tin of tuna
D - chicken, tomatoes, butternut squash and onions mixed with random herbs and spices (I just whacked everything in together but was really tasty) and for desert I had a yoghurt/jelly desert

Also walked too and from work and 45 mins of body tone. Last time I did body tone I was aching for the next three days. Feels good though :) at least I know it's working

I've had a good few days since I last updated my diary and this morning have just sat and had a dukan friendly bacon sandwich. On a weekend I used to love having a bacon sandwich and cup of tea while reading a magazine. I found it very relaxing! So, today I have managed to relive those relaxing moments :)

Ive shrunk my favourite dress in the wash *sighs* was the first size sixteen dress I bought on Dukan and was my treat now its shrunk and waaay too short :( im hoping it will fit again one day when ive lost a bit more weight

I've been meaning to write to you - believe it or not but I finally got round to watching parts 2 and 3 of the Strangeways documentary, and I was aghast at how much of the prison officer's time was spent looking after badly behaved voluntarily incontinent prisoners (one in particular, you'll remember). Gosh I'd make them clean it up themselves or live in their cells they've soiled - that might stop them. So overall my impression was one of shock! And it all seemed rather "nice" to me. I'd have made a horrid prison officer - maybe it would have stopped them coming back so frequently, or wanting to stay!!!

A Dukan friendly low fat? bacon sandwich sounds good... did your weight fluctuate the next day? Just curious.

Ah yes it was a very bizzare situation with that guy. The worst part was he worked for the civil service giving people benefits and then decided that he wanted to live like that. It's pretty bad the way he went on but unfortunately nowadays everyone has a 'duty of care' which means he can get away with it. It makes me mad!!

Not sure about if the bacon affected my loss. I weighed myself on the day I had bacon which is when I lost three pounds. I very rarely have it as it is very salty so my sandwich was a treat and a cut all the fat off it. So it was the medalion part I had with quark as a spread lol - would have preferred ketchup!

I've been feeling ill again this week which is bad given I only recently had tonsilitis. I haven't been having my vitamin tablets though so I'm worried that might be why? Gonna be strict with them now tho! Haven't eaten much today as not feeling well but I'm a bit peckish now, not sure what to have. Might just make a plain omelete - watching come dine with me is making my hungry!

Good news for today - I saw the dress I shrunk in the sale so bought it again :D for half the price

Bad news for the day - still feeling ill :(

Thank you CoCoMo. I love love love my dress!

I have tonsilitis again. Exactly the same as last time and started on the same day of the week too! Grrr!! This time however I refuse to allow myself ice cream as I did that last time. tWas very naughty of me and I will NOT be doing it again! Sticking with my mullers :)

Currently all drugged up on paracetamol and neurophen hoping the pain will stop long enough to let me sleep - i'm such a drama queen lol. And a hyprochondriac (I'm not even joking about that)

Night all x

Well today has been bad. I called in sick fr work, for the second time this month! Because of my stupid tonsils. Today was supposed to be a PP day but I really can't bear the thought of eating normal food so made some butternut squash soup with some natural yoghurt in. I feel so ill I dunno how I'm gonna go to work tomorrow but I really have to as I must see a client in prison. Gonna drag myself in. So happy is nearly the weekend! Yay :)

Hello,

Im not really having a good day protein wise.... Ive got some sagaloo soup from pret and am picking all the potatoes out. Ive checked the ingrediants online and everything is okay except for the potatoes so I have a nice big pile of those on a plate on my desk lol. Soup is feeling really good on my throat :) I cant face any protein, I dont want to chew it and have it squeeze past my inflamed tonsils. I would have gone with the chicken and mushroom soup except I cannot stand mushrooms. Ive tried them again recently but just cant cope so I went with Sagaloo soup.

Ive had a couple of the dukan toffee muffins as they are nice and soft and a muller light but I really dont think I can eat chicken or fish or anything. I have a tin of tuna with me but the thought of eating it is not very nice. Ive also got a skimmed latte to drink. I know its not the best and is a lot of dairy but I cant stomach anything else and I figured its better to eat something to stop me going into 'starvation mode'. Ill just have to eat looaaads of protein once my throat is better and to be honest my body will probably love me for the extra nutrients over the past couple of days as I have not been taking my vitamin tablets recently :(

On the plus side im off to prison in my size 16 dress and my size 20 jacket which now not only fastens but actually looks waaaay too big. My client may not recognise me when he sees me lol. I really should get a new jacket though as I do look ridiculous especially around the arms and back and everyone quite frankly.

So Im ready for a nice drive up to HMP Acklington this afternoon and then off to socialise after work... if I feel better. Im hoping the ibuprofen and paracetamol help!!

Oh crap just bit into a peice of potato! Thats what I get for not concentrating - not to worry tho I spat it out. *embarrassed* Luckily im alone in my officer at the mo so nobody witnessed that. It didnt even taste nice. Who wants potato in a soup anyways???

Also... whilst im ranting. My tights keep falling down so today I put my self named 'Bridget Jones Knickers' on top of my tights haha. Feel sorry for the person who has to search me at the prison. On the plus side though they fit a lot better and are really comfy. Last time I could hardly breathe in them!

I think I have bored you all enough for one day. Goodbye for now :)

I know Acklington! My uncle used to work there and I used to occasionally knock around with some of the other officer's kids whenever I visited my cousins.

Good idea to eat what forms of protein you can manage, Emms. It should all help.

Thanks dukan debut. I haven't been good on the protein front again today. I've not had anything yet just water. My throat is so so sore I'm struggling to even swallow my tablets. There is practically no gap between my tonsils so everythin is gettin stuck. Forced some egg down yesterday but can't today.

Was your uncle an officer at acklington? It's always either raining or windy when I go. It's so annoying!

Supposed to be at a BBQ tonight for my best friends bday. She chose a BBQ because she knew I could eat stuff. Bless her. I'm just gonna take soup instead :( xx

Oh, Emms, I really think you're going to have to see your old doctor. I know it's tricky for you getting the time to do it, but you need to put your health first, pet. It makes me wince to even think about how sore your throat must be.

As for my uncle, yep, he was an officer, old-school style - firm but fair! He's been retired for quite a few years now. I used to love going up there to stay as the staff and their families I knew were really nice people.

What a lovely friend, arranging a barbecue - and poor you, having to eat soup instead! Hope it's a good night and that you manage to enjoy yourself, despite your tonsils.

I had tonsillitis earlier this year, which ended up being caused by a staph throat infection - interestingly I didn't have a sore throat at all, just couldn't swallow properly due to the swelling. I had a 14 day course of uber-strong anti-biotics which cleared it up in the end, but it may not be your tonsils which are the primary cause of the actual tonsillitis - insist on a throat swab!
I hope you are feeling better - fat free fro-yo and ice cubes will help. xx

Hello. Well I got to see a GP at the walk in centre today and they took a swab. Only thing is I'm now in hospital with suspected appendisitis. Starting with horrific stomach pains yesterday at around 3.30pm and was vomiting and had the runs this morning. So after an exammination the GP decided to refer me to the emergency surgery ward. Just waiting to be seen now.

On the plus side tho when they asked me my weight I was able to say 16 stone 10. Which is a lot less embarrassing than saying 19 stone 3 which was my start weight! That is the only plus side. I've never been in hospital before it's strange.

Anyways I shall let u all know wht happens. I really hope it's not appendicitis and I don't need an operation x

Thanks guys. Up at a ridiculous hour and had probably the worlds worst nights sleep. Going to the loo in the middle of the night with a drip is hard work lol. I'm not allowed to eat anything incase I need an op and it's been about 36 hours since I last ate. Lost 7 lbs this week from being Ill and that was before coming to hospital! God only knows what I weigh now. I know it's only due to illness though it's nice to see the potential x
